  1. not strictly a sale, but 8097 slave 1 is back in stock at tesco direct for £60. i think it's going to be going OOP soon as the stock on tesco seems to be hit & miss & there doesnt seem to be many places selling it, even on amazon its marketplace sellers at £90!
  2. just ordered the 8097 slave 1 from tesco for £60. seems this may be about to go OOP as its only just come back into stock, lego dont list it & its only marketplace on amazon (for about £90!)
  3. well i've took the plunge! as i really fancied making this death star i've gone for doing this & the 10030 star destroyer (as they share alot of the same colours so thought that might make it easier) i've just ordered the most pieces i can get in one go (around 600 for £20 + P&P). i've never used excel since i was at school though. doesnt bricklink automatically adjust what you need after you've done an order? is there an idiots/dummies guide to using bricklink?! LOL
  4. superb job!!! what was the hardest bit? this is one of the sets i want to do myself (along with 10179 falcon, 10178 atat, 7191 x-wing & 10030 destroyer). have you do this before with bricklink? i'm thinking of doing 2 or more at a time just to get all the same bits for each set at once. dont know how well that'll work out or not as i guess i'll be waiting a fair bit to finish them all! LOL
  5. well i've had teeney weeney spending spree!!! over the last 2 days (since getting some shares cashed in) i've bought/ordered 10225 R2D2 7965 millenium falcon 9493 x-wing 9490 droid escape 9492 tie fighter 10188 death star (bought as an investment but think i'll actually open it as it seems a good set to play with!) 9675 sebulbas podracer & tatooine 9676 tie interceptor & death star unfortunately the 8097 slave 1 that was in stock at tesco for £60 las month have now all gone :(
  6. oh right! LOL you can see the confusion as the guidelines in the buy/for sale thread just say about needing 10 posts & dont mention needing 100 at all. not to worry! i'll list it on avforums then, just thought it might have been better listing here as i was wanting someone to collect (& therefore see the condition as i do worry with it being such a high value!) so wouldve had more chance here. PS i'm quidditys_shore on avforums if anyones interest! LOL
  7. hiya i was wanting to sell my falcon but cant start a thread in sales forum. it does say you need 10 posts (got just a few more! LOL) but i still cant. is there a reason? or do you need more than 10 posts first? i know i'm pretty new on here but i'm well established over on avforums, hotukdeals & ebay
  8. here you go, along with the 2011 advent calendar falcon! http://postimage.org/image/5zn0nlqtt/ i've also got the midi & 10179 UCS! really liked the review. i wanted a falcon that i can play with so will be getting it soon, just need to sell the 10179 first!
  9. ohhhhh! this site is naughty! LOL i'm DEFINITELY going to get R2-D2!! I'm also interested in moding it but dont want to mess with the kit so may, as others have said, buy the bits to create a different droid & then mod that with movement/lights. its the same with the 10179 falcon i've got. i wanted it to do more & have a "battle wore" look but because its so rare i dont want to mess with it. i never even though about buying parts to make a replic until i came here! now i'm going to sell my falcon & then buy bits to built it again the way i'll like it :)
  10. thanks :) will message you on wednesday then
  11. my most recent was 9 months ago! got the 8099 star destroyer from tesco for £15 :) not bought anything since as were saving for disneyworld last november, then xmas, then i went & wont a trip to disneyland paris in march! so saving for spending for that as well as currently paying for ANOTHER disneyworld trip this september! LOL though i have a shopping list ready for next month when i'll hopefully will have sold my 10179 millenium falcon & can spend half of what i get for it on R2D2 UCS, 7965 millenium falcon, 9493 x wing, 9492 tie fighter & 9490 droid escape :)
  12. i voted maybe because i guess it all comes down to costs. the 3 sites i regularly use are avforums, hotukdeals & thedibb avforums is on tapatalk but i dont use it as there's hardly any sites i nkow who do so why pay for it? however avforums does have its own iOS/android app which i use all the time! hotukdeals is avaliable on few apps but they are rubbish. however there is a mobile version of their site but its far far to basic for me & i just stick to browsing the regular site. thedibb has, what i believe, the best solution for this site. there's no app, just a choice of styles. right at the bottom of their forums theres a drop down menu for dibb - regular website, "mobile - wap style site, iphone - basic website view. for me the iphone style is THE option you should go for on here! its still a website but its far easier to navigate & would just do the same as an app. just try it, goto www.thedibb.co.uk/forums then choose iphone (its just called that for a style name! still works perfect on any mobile/ipod touch)
  13. i've bought a few sets without the wife knowing! mainly when they've been on offer at argos or tesco near where i work. i've had to cycle home with them, hidden as much as possible & try getting them into my MANS room before shes sees them! LOL once in there she thinks i've always had them!
  14. i've watched 2 IPL cricket matches back to back on itv4 whilst checking off all the pieces in my 10179 millennium falcon set, ready for selling it
  15. in "the great & secret show" by clive barker (my fav author!) there's an island surrounded by a sea that you swim in in your dreams (washing up on the islands beach), but only twice in your life. the first being the night you spend with your true love, the second being the night you die. this sea is called quiddity & therefore the islands beach is quidditys shore :)
  16. i'd had buckets of lego since an early age but never any sets, that was until the 8865 technic test car. i got it for my 12 birthday in 1989. i used to love building it & changing gears, watching the engine working & then dismantle to build the other kit you could make with the set! however i sold it 2 years later to get a sega megadrive! though i loved lego & building things (usually with imagination & not sticking to instructions) i never bought another set. that was until 2008 on our first trip to disneyworld & i entered the lego shop at downtown disney! that was the first time i'd ever seen lego star wars! i fell in love! they had the 10179 millennium falcon for $400 (£200 back then!) which i drooled over but knew it wouldnt fit in our suitcases! i got a few star wars small kits after that & after returning to disneyworld in 2009 to get married, i still had £300 of spending money left so when we got back i got the 10179 off ebay! :)
  17. hiya i'm new here (though i'm a regular on hotukdeals & avforums!) so dont know how this works will you be getting the star destroyer? if so i'll deffinetly have that please! each time they do these i never get them :( even though i work in morrisons putting the papers out in the morning & whsmiths is less than a 1 minute walk away! by lunchtime when i get there they've always gone (been told they all go within 30mins of opening!) usually i end up buying them off ebay but would rather the money not goto someone just out to make profit. if you get the tie fighter i'd have that as well, but its no problem if you cant :)
  18. well i've checked it all off against both bricklinks & peeron :) i've ended up with about 40 pieces over! most are just 1 or 2 here but there is one piece where i had 129 instead of 119! i even went through the manual adding up how many i needed just to make sure. in the end i'm only 1 piece missing! 4211425 which is 3460 light bluish grey 1x6 (i actually was one over on the 1x8 so guess thats a mistake they made). i've contacted lego themselves to get the missing part & they say it should arrive in the next 2 weeks :) once it does i guess its bye bye time apart from a house, this will be the most expensive thing i've ever sold so am hoping there'll be someone local to buy it face to face. will let you guys know when the time comes! :) PS its weird but i've always had a few extra pieces in kits. i've got a bag of spares i keep as a just in case & most of this came from the lego star wars 2011 advent calendar! which is bizzare because there wouldve only been a max of about 20 pieces per kit yet there were still extras i them! LOL
  19. cheers. forgot about asking lego for parts! did it when i got vaders tie fighter a few years ago because his cape was missing (& 2 other little bits). i'm not one to lose things so know it wasnt there in the first place would they do it though with it being such a few years since i bought it? either way using the lego site gives me the design number when i enter the part number so that will help if i have to buy elsewhere! i cant believe the prices this has got to! i thought it was a high price when i bought it in 2009 for £300, especially as in late 2008 we were on holiday in florida & te lego shop there had it for $400 (which was £200 back then!). it'll be sad to see her go :( but atleast the money will go towards a good cause :)
  20. thanks very much for that! did try searching but had no luck! also didnt realise that the part numbers in the manual are different to those from bricklinks. now i've found then on ebay :) is that the best/cheapest place to buy from? PS it was a bad idea coming here! now looks like i may be getting the UCS R2-D2 as well! LOL
  21. hello! sorry i've not posted here much but now need a bit of help! i've had the 10179 set since late 2009 (only £300 new off ebay!). i've built it twice but always had a problem near the end where i've thought i've used the wrong parts earlier in the build (parts neded have been similar to parts i had left to use). its now come to a time when i cant justify keeping it :( planning on our first child! :) so i'm going to sell it. now i'm going by the parts list at the back of the manual & there are a few differences (1 or 2 over or under). i just want to check that this list is accurate. if so then i'll need to get the missing bits, where would be best to get them from? also once sorted where would be best to sell? i'll be allowed to get the new smaller kit once its sold though so not to bad! (& i also have the hasbro big toy to play with! LOL)
