  1. Well, every single one of the 20 wheel sets are exactly like this. Hard to think i put 20 of them together wrong.
  2. I just got in the mail 5 copys of set 42118 the Monster Jam Grave Digger. Why do i need 5? So i can build an 18 wheeler with matching tires. Anyways. When putting the tires on the wheels i notice one side of the rubber tends to kinda poof out. And sometimes i have to switch it around some to get the poof on the right end. Or matching ends. Not sure if there is a right end for the poof. Is it meant to be this way? Seems kind of a pain to get all the wheels to look right with the poof all on the same side. Oh, and the parts that im talking about are 4297209 and 6283864
  3. I love designing my own stuff. But my biggest hurdle is logic. Like ive been on a huge alien planet space science type kick. So all the buildings i make has to be "air tight". I will still detail the crap out of the inside of the buildings. beds, tool racks, charging stations for the space helmet suits, ect. Than i slap a roof on the thing and most the design cant be seen. If build a rover taller then a minifig i have to have a ladder or some other sort of way to get the guy in and out. If the rover has something that can be loaded/unloaded i have to have some sort of crane or something to move it. And i end up blowing a lot of pieces on a lot of logic based details then end up with not enough pieces to finish what i have in mind. How do you ignore logic and focus on design? I cant seem to be able to do that.
  4. I got this piece in a sort of grab bag at a garage sale. In the top down picture i THINK it says Lego in the hole. Its kinda hard to tell. The inside looks like it has some sort of clip, altho how you are supposed to clip anything inside the piece i cant figure out. Does anyone know what this is from and how to use it? Top Down Pic Inside piece pic Trying to show the clip inside
  5. ahh ok i gotcha. Thank you for explaining!
  6. I have been trying to upload a few more pics over on the meme thread. But apparently i have reached my upload limit. What is that all about and how do i get more upload space?
  7. A few i found.
  8. Alrighty. You inspired me. I put this together. It might not be perfect, and depending on if you have the panes with the nubs on the top/bottom it might not work. But it was an idea and it kinda worked. Also if its unclear what i used. But i guess any sort of those clips would work. The 1x1 clips. Ect.
  9. I generally start out with a rough idea of what i want to build but let the pieces decide how its going to end up. Like i wanted to build the major set pieces from The Martian. The rover the habitat Mav. The habitat ended up being about x4 the size from the movie. The rover ended up with more tires. I mean, rough ideas can go a long way.
  10. Curious, why cant you just use the window frame? What are you trying to build and where are you trying to put this?
  11. Lets say i wanted to buy 100 1x4 white bricks. WHere would be the best place, if any, where i can do that?
  12. Ya im not sure if i want app controlled, I prefer a real remote. It looks like there are some knock off lego servo motors that work with power functions. Id rather not, not it seems like my best bet. So, can i hook up multiples of all this stuff together. Like, 5 battery boxes 4 motors 1 servo motor ect? Or would i need more controllers to hook everything up?
  13. Good info good to know. Thank you Next question. If I set up my own steering system on build can I use one of these motors as a servo? Or would it keep trying to crank one way and break something?
  14. This is something I'm struggling with. I only recently got back into legos. And I'm buying new sets every week , basically. So I'll organize, then buy a new set and realize what I had organized won't fit anymore when I add the new pieces. Then I'll re organize. Do this about 10 times. Then realize you spend more time organizing then building. At what point do I stop buying legos, and how much organizing is enough? I got 3 new technic sets in last night. And technic is my focus. So I need to re organize when I get home all my technic stuff. Fun stuff.
  15. I'm tempted to buy 2 of these. So, are the controllers and receivers universal? Like if I buy 2 can I is ether controller? I also looked at a different controller. Can I use that controller with these parts?
  16. Ya im right now looking at the lego store. Has a lot of retired products.
  17. Corncob Minifig Found him on amazon
  18. I am looking at the remote controlled stunt racer set: 42095 and i cant help but think im missing something. OK, its probably not a standard motor setup running tracks. But it looks like it comes with some motor of some sort, battery box receiver remote controll and all the other parts to put it together. For 83 dollars. I found just a battery box and motor set for 87 dollars. How is this cheaper? Whats the catch? Am i missing something, or is it as advertised? I just looked at the parts list for this model and it comes with 2 motors. https://www.bricklink.com/CatalogItemInv.asp?S=42095-1
  19. OK so i think i misunderstood the whole setup when i first started looking into this. I thought to use a motor you had to have the controller and remote and all that jazz. But i guess all you really need is a battery box and a motor? Thats....simpler. But, is there a cheaper way to get into this? Found a battery box and motor set on amazon for 87 dollars. Thats spendy for just a battery box, that i need to supply that batteries for, and a motor. i would rather steer away from "fake" legos, but is there a cheaper option? And the set i found on amazon is here https://www.amazon.com/Lego-Functions-Power-Battery-M-Motor/dp/B00OEHKWTY/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=lego+battery+pack&qid=1631044118&sr=8-5
  20. I am looking for a motor. But JUST a motor. I want to do some like ferris wheel builds. Or a sort of repetitive motion build. And i need a motor to run those things. Is there a motor where i dont have to deal with battery packs or controllers or anything like that? One that plugs into the wall, has an on/off switch and maybe a direction switch?
