Malfoy manor leaked. a very nice minifig selection, though i’m disappointed that it doesn’t come with ron… the building seems more like a facade… but with all minifigs having legs instead of the dress slope, maybe there are some playfeatures on the otherside. I also find it a shame they decided to reuse narcisa’s old hairpiece…. But we are getting a new one for luna. I like that it seems like we are getting new face prints for harry, bella and lucius. overall not the 10/10 i’d hoped for, but still an easy day 1 buy

One of the ways i could see them do the hagrid’s motorbike set at the 50€ mark would be by including some night sky scenery (similar to the peter pan flight set)… would it be necessary? Totally not! But they people want the motorbike so i could totally see them trying to find a way to get a quick buck out of the concept

In love with this advent calendar! Love that they are giving us at least one minifgure of each house; the carolling ghost is fantastic! Really nice to have the statues representing each house! Now the question remains if the Great hall does actually have space to accommodate this builds
-
Thoughts on the leaked images: - Great Hall: > so far, i really like the exterior, my only complaint are the stairs to the boathouse… > regarding the interior: i’ll save my judgment for the official pictures, but… they really could have tried to make the hall seem a little bit more alive: a proper table for the staff; more flying candles; different types of food; and even some of the new transparent pieces so that you could put either owls or ghost flying on the ceiling… i also think they should have used some halloween type props that people could switch with the ones that are coming with the advent calender…. I prefer this sky than a stickered ine, though they could have tried to do something extra with it… regarding the underlevel: i like the small corridor to pretend you can go from one room to the other; the bathroom seems like a decent build, but the hufflepuff common room seems to be really lacking…. No banner; no house crest.., just some tables… quite disappointing… the minifigures are really the highlight of this set specially the troll. this seems like it would have been a great set at 150-170€; but it does not look like a 220€ set at all…. Lego priece increases are really making some of their designers sets look awful; not because of the build buy because the set you are getting does not reflect the price you are paying for… - Ollivanders and Madam Malkin > fantastic minifigures of madam malkin, flower witch and ollivander; also love the new wand molds > ollivanders looks like a fun little set from the outside but madam malkind inside is really just meh… like many have said - the price they demand for these DA small sets VS the price of each module of the D2C DA is awful… > also this would have been a great opportunity for them to use the house robes on these nameless students; and make sure to give some houses diversity… however they opt to give us some random torsos from other themes (that you could easily get of bricks and pieces…) - The Mandrake looks fun, but does not really interest me - Buckbeak doesn’t even look to me like an entencing set.. - Potions classroom: > am curious to see how they are going to do this module; as the great hall ones look like roughly 100-150 pieces at most… > the snape minifigure is a fantastic addition though Hopefully in a couple hours we will get the final pictures specially of the durmatrang ship

These decisions really baffle me… the theme works so well in some aspects, and in others… its just weird

Since the news of the summer sets that i haven’t had to time to actually process everything, and since anyday now we might get the pictures, thought i might as well sit down and write my thoughts: - regarding the new modular system Great Hall and potions classroom; i remember back in 2021 how everyone was quite displeased with the change of the castle system; while i initially really liked what i saw with the chamber of secrets and the polyjuice sets - it seemed like a very interesting system to actually focus on the interior of the castle, as more sets started getting released, and they stopped trying to make well developed interiors and small modules, i really lost interest in that system… had they canceled the books and banners, and actually put those classrooms and common rooms in the castle system it could have been awesome, but that was not the case… with that being said; and having really enjoyed the boathouse and owlery sets; i’ll definitely have to wait to see official pictures before getting excited for the new modular system. - durmstrang ship this one has been a long time coming! Really curious to see how it turns out, and at its price point and piece count i find it hard to believe that we will only get 5 figures…. (The same number as the boat house set) i exepect that at the very least we will get 2 more students: 1 for durmstrang and 1 for beauxbatons - Ollivanders and madam malkinS although i would’ve have prefered getting MM in the D2C system; i’m sure that someone will do a moc of it; and i really do understand the need to give the DA shop a more wallet friendly version! The minifig selection is also quite diverse; with students and the flower witch. - aragog i find this to be the more meh set, however it hasn’t been done in 6 years; i hope that they at least create some interesting trees technics - the 2018-2020 forrest sets had always some fun builds - however the creature set from the march wave was as barebones as it could possibly be… - advent calendar really enjoyed the 2023 AC, good to see that they are back trying to connect it to the sets being released! other thoughts regarding the theme: 1) honestly find quite appalling how they don’t try to make other hogwarts houses minifigures easily accessible in sets… they decided to stuff the D2C HE with a ravenclaw and hufflepuff “to give the fans other houses students” in a 500€ set however, when creating the 30€ FF set that is a mix of different movies; chose to actually give yes yet another ron and hermione… it would also be nice to get more characters accesory packs like the 2020 and 2021… i’m pretty sure the students pack sold quite well… 2) i really hope they take this “refresh” to actually start spending this themes budget into making accurate minifigures of the important characters… while i adore how much detail they put into tertiary characrers like sinestra, pince, florian, susan bones and the snatcher; it really becomes a joke when you put them side by side with Bellatrix, molly, ginny and lucius… all those 4 need to actually get proper faces; and Bella needs to have a proper dresspiece…
-
They really do need to make a proper mold/molded parts for the troll, as none of the existing pieces are accurate enough; and it would a huge disservice if thr 2001 fig ended up being more accurate than the new one
-
What makes me more curious is that they say that it can be modified modified for other films
-
So basically they are giving us new prints for harry, hermione and draco faces (hogwarts express); new head print for the umbridge toy (WWW) and new head+ torso for neville and leg printing for scabior; yet bellatrix and molly stil get that same innacurate face print from 2020? I know that i sound like a broken record, but seriously? Who the hell is in charge of this kind of decisions? They clearly had a budget for new prints, and instead of giving us two accurate characters that needed an upgrade, they give us small changes on characters who don’t need them?
-
And once again ginny and lavander are using the same 2020 super innacurate faceprints… after the march wave tried to correct the misuse of innacurate faceprints, i’m really disappointed about this (also scared that they will reuse the mantis headpiece for bellatrix again)

Rank Hogwarts Castle Diagon alley Grimmauld Place Burrow Chamber of Secrets Astronomy Tower Polijuice potion Hagrids Hut Voldemort’s rise Ministry of magic Room of requirement Expecto patron Hospital wing Lake task Beauxbatons

Another idea for where Ron DH2 could show up would be an Hogs Head set: it could come with the trio, aberforth and 1-2 death eaters. It would also fall in line with an hogsmeade expansion each summer and it would cover the most prominent buildings of the movies
-
After they used so many new prints in the Hogwarts Express D2C, yet still reused that ugly head on Draco, had me seriously worried about the appearance of future variants of minifigs who seriously needed a new face print like Ginny, Bellatrix (really doubt they still have the CMF ones available to reuse), Lucius and even Molly, so am really pleased with the upgrade that Draco, Krum, Cedric and even Cho received in this wave. There is still hope for the future variants of other characters! - Black Lake: really love this set! While i would have enjoyed a bigger version with all the characters, this set embodies the great ability of the HP team to do small, but fantastic adaptions of the on-screen scene! - Room of requirement: great to see some good inclusions like Draco’s HE D2C torso (instead of house robes), the return of the pixie, and the Grey Lady is definetly a pleasant surprise! The fiendfyre build is really well done, I particularly like the option to have diferent parts of it attach to different parts of the castle, almost making it seem like it truly floats and is burning the room! My only disappoitment of this set is the absence of the Vanishing Cabinet, this would have been the best set to actually include it! - Banners: i personally enjoy this version more than the moments! The first 4, only had McGonnagal and Flitwick as interesting minifigs, (and seamus new face), everything else seemed like a downgrade (specially the not at all accurate sweaters). The last two, while giving us variations of 2 professores we hadn’t seen since 2018, included more versions of harry, hermione and neville making it even less interesting… The new banners at least give a lot of new characters and new, rare and useful prints. The only one i don’t particularly care about is gryffindor… another neville? They couldn’t give us Percy, or seamus or even one the twins? Out of all the 3 winter waves we’ve gotten this is definitely my favourite! And i just hope it is a great sign of the things to come in the summer wave

Andy Seenan (the new creative lead of the HP theme) posted on his twitter that we should expect some Lego HP news tomorrow, so it shouldn’t be long till we see the sets

I’m trying to do the same, for hermione i’m thinking of using the Emilia Earhart face, with the brown ponytail from mafalda/hermione from the ministry of magic set. For the torso i’m a bit torned between the Tina Goldstein one or the new one from the office’s pam beesley. for ron, i was planing to reuse the arthur face, with the same hairpiece that JL bricks used, and probably the reacher torso, from the new city school set 60329 will try to assemble those during the weekend, if anybody has any ideas please share :)

I’ve been trying to put my thoughts together regarding the AC, and still haven’t come to a conclusion about it… while i really enjoy the fact that it explores all movies (similar to this year sets) other things are just weird choices… regarding minifigures: 1) harry the necessary evil in all sets, not much else to say xD 2) moaning myrtle, while i would have a enjoyed a different character as the CMF is perfect, this is a choice that makes sense for lego: they have the bathroom set currently on sale, with no myrtle for the kids that werent able to get her through the cmf; her inclusion makes it possible for them to get her at the same window of availability of the bathroom set (plus the hairpiece in black is a nice addition). 3) Sirius - while i’m always glad for a new variation of a character specially with an obscure outfit, i never in the more than 100 times that i have watched PoA realized that the wanted picture of sirius was a differente outfit from his prisioner one… while i appreciate it, i would have rather they just reused his prisioner outfit from the shack or the escape set, and used the new to print to actually make slughorn pijamas. 4) Voldy - a really cool variation, and a much needed minifig since 2019. 5) Tonks - amazing to see her here with the duck face 6) snape- honestly the most disappointing one… dont really care for his moments outfit, and would’ve rather have shlughorn in his pijamas replace him, and have sirius as a repeat minifg… 7) neville - fantastic addition! regarding the minibuilds, while i love some of them, like the demenotrs in the lake, the burrow, the mini knight bus… i’m also really tired of the same repeats: pensive, goblet of fire and triwizard cup….i would rather get more christmas trees or silly house flags over these same specific builds over qnd over again…

WOW this wave is really great 😍 Thestral set: just as expected a really nice small set! If i wanna be nitpicky i will just say that i would have rather have some small bushes over that “tree” 😂 sirius rescue: this is definetly the one i dislike themost, and the only one that i won’t get day 1… it is a fine set, but so not worthy of 50€… the interiors had nothing and the figures don’t add anything special… will wait for a good discount Dumbledores office: great set, good minifigure selection with an amazing madame prince, a proper miss norris and a nice baby fawkes 😍 Really like the library build, and a good dumbledores office with enough space to recreate the most iconic scenes ShriekingShack: just fantastic! I know some people will have some people with its size, but this is exactly what i was expecting in order for it to go next to the hogsmeade village set! Also like the new whomping willow! Werewolf lupin and padfoot are stellar ministry of magic: perfection, our first DH1 set in lego form 😍 can also see them easily adding some extension sets 12 grimmauld place: again perfection, this and MoM are definetly tied as the my favourite sets this wave 😍

From what brickclicker and nooneofimportance are implying, it seems to me that set 40560 is indeed named professors of hogwarts but that it isn’t a minifig pack, maybe brickheadz?
-
People really need to be careful what information they trust… Don’t believe for one second on that accesory pack information. Looking at the posts on that account they seem made up, plus latelly the info of the accesory packs leaks very lately in the game, sometimes only on the previous days to release or not at all -like last years HP accesory pack
-
So apparently HP was one of the top 5 best selling themes of 2021 🥳
-
Honestly, i would have loved to get more FB sets! but realistically speaking, just a couple of weeks ago my country’s toys r us website, was still doing huge discounts on the thestral carriage, and other stores still have the newts chest… while the HP sets that have retired qre nowhere to be seen… so if this was a global situation, i totally get lego not wanting to make more sets :/

So after waiting a couple of hours to let this information sink in, gonna leave here my thoughts. 76400 Hogwarts carriage with Thestral - Number of parts: 121, 19.99 Euro - This is a set that I thought we would have gotten back in 2020, so it's nice to see it happening now! Not the most exciting one considering we already had a thestral carriage, but it is definitely nice to see the return of the the mold, especially at a more appealing price than the 30 € FB set. The baby thestral, a new variant of Luna, plus the side tree to help the forbidden forrest grow are also very welcome additions. 76401 Hogwarts: Sirius' Rescue - Number of parts: 345, 49.99 Euro - I'm not really sure how to feel about this set... while this is a very iconic scene, and I'm glad we are getting the courtyard fountain, I really don't know what to make out of this Hogwarts section. According to promo bricks, it is a 24 stud section, which means it's the same size as the hospital wing, however it has 160 less pieces than that set, I really don't see how this is gonna work, but look forward to be surprised by lego. I also feel that this is a set with a very poor character selection, I expect harry and Hermione to be the same from the HW set, and I really don't see how they can improve the prisoner Sirius from 2019, so the only different Minifigures would be Ginny. Again strange character selection, just hope that they go all out on her, as all of the 2018-2021 Minifigures of her have been really lackluster (with the exception of the Minifigures series 2 variant) - please lego give her a good face print! I do think that like many have said we could get a fat lady portrait, but I really don't know what the set interior could look like.... just hoping it's not another fluffy encounter type of Hogwarts structure. 76402 Hogwarts: Dumbledore's office - Number of parts: 654, 79.99 Euro - This is a set that I actually thought we would get next year based on Ootp with a 24 stud Dumbledores office on the second floor, and umbrifge’s office, the staircase and filch office on the bottom floor, and Minifigures based on Dumbledore's arrest. While it would be nice for them to finally give Snape and mcgonnagal their black robes mf variant, the thing that I really don't get is this set weird PPR... The 2 previous sets have 2 large molded creatures to justify it but this one doesn't appear to have any.... could we maybe get a molded griffin for the staircase? or perhaps a Fawkes with open wings, to recreate the ootp scene? Just hope that at least we get nice variants of these MF's. 76403 Ministry of Magic - Number of parts: 990, 99.99 Euro - This set is something I've bern waiting for since the 2010 reboot of the theme! while I would love if it was based on DH, I would still buy it if it came with 9 Harry Potter Minifigures hahahaha Day one buy! 76406 Hungarian horntail - Number of parts: 671, 49.99 Euro - Not particularly interested in this set... I had the same reaction with Hedwig and Fawkes, and ended up really liking those sets, however the HH at least to me isn't as iconic as those 2 to justify buying it, however if there's something I learned with this theme is to never say never xD 76407 Shrieking Shack - Number of parts: 777, 89.99 Euro - Still have the old one at home, and another day one purchase! Interested to see what is the minifig choices... Having the same variants of harry and Hermione, in 3 sets the same year, plus 2 sets with the same Sirius and Ron seems very strange... Wouldn't be surprised if this set came with a whomping willow side build for the werewolf vs Grimm fight, and if the Shrieking shack came with the snowball fight of the trio vs Malfoy gang, just to give a little Minifigure variety... Regardless of the minifig outcome, still a day 1 buy.

Here’s my predictions for this summer sets: 76400 - 121 p 20 $ - Draco’s Buckbeak encounter - it has a very similar piece and price count to expecto patronum, so i imagine it would come with some trees, 3 figures( Harry, Draco & Hagrid) and the same buckbeak mold from Hagrids Hut. (My other prediction would be a Fantastic Beasts set) 76401 - 345p 50$ - The First Task - the 2019 first task was the set from the 2018-2019 that i remember being most criticized (for obvious reasons) so i could definetly see Lego remaking it, and trying to get more money out of this scene. The fact that the price per piece ratio is so bad for this set (comparing it with this years Hospital wing that is also 50$ and has 500 pieces) i would bet on new molded pieces for the horntail (with other parts being brickbuilt) and some rock foundations (oposing the 2019 tent). minifigures: Harry, Dumbledore (or other teacher), Rita Skeeter (besides the cabinet scene, the first task is the other scene where she has the most screentime) and Barty Crouch Sr. (This 2 figures would alone make a lot of people double dip on this set). Also every year we get a brickbuilt creature: 2018 - aragog, 2019 - dragon, 2020- grawp, 2021 - fluffy, so i could really see them remaking this set. Again another prediction would be a FB set. 76402- 654 pieces 80$ - shrieking shack- another weird price per piece ratio. Minifigures: HP, HG, RW, Sirius, Lupin, Pettigrew, werewolf mould and maybe a proper Padfoot and crookshanks mold(please lego!) 76403 - 990 pieces 100$ - Hogwarts Castle: either based on Goblet of Fire - with the choosing cerimony on the ground floor, Dumbledore’s office in the top floors and maybe an owlery: or PoA - boggart scene+ divination+ gryffindor common room or the dark tower with sirius escaping 76046 - niffler 76407 -777 pieces same predictions as 76403 120$ set- hogwarts Black Lake (ship+ second task) while i wasnt a fan of this a idea, a couple of years ago when the idea to release this two scenes together was first talked about in this forum, now i feel like this is the best choice considering that the Durmstrung ship has to be of considerable size and the minifigure selection for itself is quite poor. So, similar price set to last years chamber of secrets (which had 11 minifigures, the new pixie mold and the basilisk head mold) minifigures: the 4 champions, the 4 treasures, karkaroff, random durmstrung student (perheaps) merpeople, and small grindillows simillar to last years pixies.
