  1. I'm interested in buying any Classic Space or Futuron boxes you have. I guess I can't message you because I'm a new user. Maybe you can message me?
  2. There is definitely not a list. The variety of special parts is huge, and new stuff is discovered all the time. Especially when it comes to 2x4 test bricks which have been produced since the 60s. There are thousands of colors/plastics/molds. As for the source, these parts come from lots of places. Lego factories, plastics companies that provide raw material for Lego, Legoland model shops, LUG kits... even from the attics of people who worked for Lego decades ago!
  3. Left to right: prototype Modulex 1x1 plate, regular System 1x1 plate, prototype European Jumbo 1x1 plate. Left to right: prototype 2x4 brick without studs, modern color test brick, rare Norwegian trans-clear double-logo hollow brick.
  4. I have this set. Bought it off of Bricklink a few years ago. It's complete with the red crate, but sadly no cards were included. Fortunately I managed to find some nice scans. Here are the minifigs :)
  5. I'm trying to collect all the sets with design throwbacks to early Lego Space, particularly Classic and Futuron. I'm specifically interested in sets, not just minifigs with CS design elements. This is what I have so far. I think it's everything, but let me know if I missed anything! First off, these four Lego Movie / Lego Movie 2 sets all have CS-style spaceships, droids, and rovers: 70816 - Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! 71214 - Fun Pack - The LEGO Movie (Benny and Benny's Spaceship) 78041 - Benny's Space Squad 70821 - Emmet and Benny's 'Build and Fix' Workshop! Next up are three micro builds of old sets: 40290 - 60 Years of the LEGO Brick (497/928 Galaxy Explorer) 4002016 - 50 Years on Track (6990 Monorail Transport System) 11910 - Micro-Scale Space Cruiser [Great LEGO Sets: A Visual History] (497/928 Galaxy Explorer) Lastly, this Building Better Thinking set has instructions for a space ship with hints of Classic Space coloring and styling: 10404 - Ocean's Bottom
  6. Some good info here, thanks to all who replied. I've been trying to collect some of the earliest mentions of Classic Space sets in print, and this is helpful. That bit about the Lego designer defecting to TENTE is particularly interesting. Their old space sets are really great, and I had no idea there was a connection to Lego. One bad thing about TENTE though - the edges are so sharp!
  7. I often see 1978 listed as the start of Classic Space. There are even several Lego printed elements that say "In space since 1978". However, I have yet to see catalogs from 1978 that show Classic Space sets. They all appear in 1979. Even the instructions for sets supposedly from 1978 have 1979 copyright notices. Does anyone know of a reference to Classic Space in print that is definitely from 1978?
