Jurassic World 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
pancakecrocodile replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
If Lowery is returning in Dominion, I would love to see a minifigure for him, because 1) we didn't get one in 2015 and 2) it would make a great addition to people's collections. I ordered the minis from the Trex Rampage set individually, and they made a fine addition to my collection, to quote General Grievous. What hairpiece would he utilize, though? I'm thinking Owen's hair, just recolored black...? -

On a more positive note, what large carnivore might appear in the new line? Ceratosaurus? Allosaurus? Or something else? -

Maybe some people don't have enough cash to afford this stuff! Have you ever considered that? Yeesh! Can we just drop this? It is getting way too assumptive and contemptuous. -
Jurassic World 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't buy the sets, only the figures, as I said numerous times before. I will not waste my money on overpriced junk at all, and I collect only dinosaurs; that is my hobby. I don't know how and why people can afford stuff like 75941, and I find it disrespectful to dwell on advantages some people have that are not accessible to the less fortunate. -

The only set that I would expect it to be in is the $119.99 one. I mean, what other higher-priced sets are there? I would not expect Giga to be in any of the $50 ones. That being said, we don't know any of the prices for the next 4, so I don't know. Hopefully! -

Because of the supposed reveal of Giganotosaurus as (presumably) the main antagonist for Dominion, is it likely it will be featured in the $119.99 set? -

HAHAHA! That is a great and accurate way to put it! But I agree with you: Owen was in every single set last year... it has been kind of boring. One thing I liked about 75941 was that we got an older Claire variant, something we could only have obtained in set 75917. I hope if Owen and Claire proliferate this and next year, they have different decals on their torsos and legs. -

You admit it is expensive! VICTORY! I don't and never will agree with the price on this set, nor with any of you on your position, but, however, I am done discussing this. I do not like this set, and will never support Lego through the purchase of it. Thank you. Do you think it is likely we'll see a Pachycephalosaurus this year? I would assume it would be in either 76940 or 76941. -

May I remind you... Assume what you want, but if it costs 19 cents for every piece (including the 1x1 studs) in this set altogether, I'm not going to let Lego dupe me into buying their overpriced products. -

So you would have wanted to pay $100 rather than $80 or $90? That makes no sense whatsoever. It was just so small, I just bought the figures individually on Bricklink. I wish there was a jeep or something, that might have made it worth around $100. If only Lego had not made this set yet; I would have loved to wait a few years when the economy is more stable to see a more detailed Ankylosaurus or Indominus. -

I am quoting an official Brickset review, based on hundreds of opinions, for set 75941: "This model definitely appears impressive, taking inspiration from the Gyrosphere ride and the subsequent battle between the Indominus rex and an Ankylosaurus. I anticipate these dinosaurs will prove exceptionally exciting, but the price of £89.99 or $99.99 is incredibly disconcerting because this set only includes 537 pieces, even taking the branding and new pieces expenses into account." If Lego continues to overprice their items, I will have no choice but to not support them. -

No, the question is, do you WANT to pay $100 for it? You can think what you want about this set, but I personally hate it, and have much evidence to back my statement up. It is very small for the price, has few pieces, and various flaws that make it a terrible set not worth my hard-earned money (branding or not). -

You could just order the individual Gallimimus figure on Bricklink. I try not to buy the sets when they're overpriced, so I just buy the figure. But if you don't have Bricklink, never mind, it looks like $50 is the way to go (I really hate that set too). -

But did you see the pieces count? The size? The sparse detail on Ankylosaurus? The money saving Indominus arms? Even taking the cost it was to produce the new dinos into account, this set was pretty expensive. The total price should be more like $80 or $90, not $100. If they had thrown the Indominus out (which I'm kind of glad they didn't) I would have payed $60 dollars for it. But it was overpriced, taking everything into account. The question is not "will you pay 100 dollars for it", it's "do you WANT to pay 100 dollars for it?". So, would you WANT to to pay $100 dollars for it? -

Honestly, I really hope we don't get another carnivore/herbivore set like last year. It looked cool, had a new dinosaur, and there were trace amounts of interactivity... but such a big price tag!!! So many people bought it just for the dinosaurs (but hey, why else do people buy Lego Jurassic World), and didn't even look at the price tag. I think that set was bad, so if Lego decides that it was successful enough, they could do a $70 or $80 set with a smaller carnivore and herbivore for 76942 this year. That would really suck. Also, I really hate the new Indominus arms, as they were made just to save money instead of using swivel wrists. WHAT'S WRONG WITH SWIVEL WRISTS?!?!?! -

Too bad, because we got 4 last year, even if half of them were baby variants. I'm still counting on 2 old dinos and at least 3 new ones. -

What new dinosaurs would seem practical for Lego's budget this year? Last year they had to limit themselves to small dinosaurs (baby dinos, Gallimimus) and Ankylosaurus. I'm guessing we will get 2 old dinosaurs in the first 2 sets (Velociraptor, Pteranodon, or Dilophosaurus), 2 new herbivores (Parasaurolophus, Pachycephalosaurus, Sinoceratops, or Stegosaurus), and 1 new large carnivore (Ceratosaurus, Allosaurus, or Metriacanthosaurus). But that is just speculative. -

Couldn't Dilophosaurus reach 23 feet in length, though? I've only heard of them growing to 17 feet long, but 23 is the largest size discovered. Height-wise, it is not an accurate size, but length-wise, it is a little long but okay-ish. But you are right, it does look more accurate. I wish there were a Lego dilo that had detachable ruffs on it's neck that could attach to small rods embedded in its neck. That way, you could take then off to appear less menacing, then you could reattach them. Unlikely, but cool. -

I only say "small" dilophosaurus because there are 2 sizes of dilophosaurs, and the smaller JP sized one is smaller than its more scientifically accurately sized counterpart. I agree with your choice for herbivores, as we only have three (excluding the Gallimimus, because they were most likely omnivores): Triceratops, Ankylosaurus (and their baby variants), and Stygimoloch. I also agree with your decision for the Raptor and Pteranodon sets (if they appear), as I think I will do the same until I see what the sets look like. -

Alright. Dinosaurs that I am 100% convinced will appear in one of these sets: Pteranodon, Velociraptor, Ceratosaurus, Small Dilophosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Allosaurus, Sinoceratops, Stegosaurus, or a new Baby Dinosaur of some kind, like an Apatosaurus or Stegosaurus. -

I liked it because we've never seen a set with an herbivore and carnivore, and we got a reboot of the old Claire figure that was only seen in 75917... but the price was horrifying! It is super small, and you barely get any pieces... so I bought the figures separately on Bricklink. It's cool and all, but the price is bad. That's just my opinion. -

If this line for JW is as bad as the one last year, I'm going to get the individual dinosaurs off of Bricklink. NOTE: I pretend last year's line didn't happen, even if we saw an Ankylosaurus and Gallimimus- the prices were terrible.
