Well let's hope that there are some actual buildings in the CITY...

Creator set 31387 will be called Legendary Pirate Ship. It will have 1,074 pieces and be released in June.

It's reportedly set 60506, so it should be 693 pieces and reported as "Train" earlier in this thread. The Streetcar from 2024 (#60423) was 811 pieces. Maybe this is a little more old style tram? So the vehicle would not be that big, and there might be some seaside build to accompany it.

I agree, I was more envisioning something like fantasy era Castle as well. Still regular weapons, regular uniforms and so on, only that fantasy creatures also exist. Maybe magical objects.
-
Maybe 60494 ("No information") is a Coast Guard HQ or something? Or would that be counted as Town?
-
I've had some similar thoughts. If a fantasy based pirates theme would appeal more to kids there is a higher chance of getting an actual new pirates line with affordable sets and not only IP's and highly expensive sets. Maybe a tie-in cartoon is needed as well, similar to Ninjago or Monkie Kid.
-
No, I agree. I also think that with Goonies, The Black Pearl, and One Piece-sets on the shelves there is no room for any Classic Pirates set. It's sad that IPs are pushing out retro classic sets. Classic Space sets also seem to be having a bad time.

Professor Kettleburn's (the guy with the wooden leg) torso in 76454 Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower could maybe be useful:

Tough luck for anyone not close to a Lego store...
-
PaB has been updated and there are some interesting parts like the old type of palm leaf in sand green and the older looking door from 10332 Medieval Town Square. But the most important part is that the bluecoat torsos are still available!
-
Well it won't lead to more Pirates sets, thats for sure.
-
Hmm the lack of engagement in this thread really speaks volumes about the lack of excitement of this from Lego Pirates fans.
-
I'm not that excited for this. Maybe there will be some boat parts that could be useful. Any sails will probably be printed according to the series so that you can't use it for other things though. The one thing I'm excited for is the opportunity to get a somewhat accurate tar hat mould from the main characters straw hat (even though it's not flat on top...).

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Jiesdeo replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Right, I actually forgot about the Dreamzzz one, I was quite excited when it came out. Too bad it hasn't gotten more use. It would be nice to get a pirched version though. Would set the mood in a lot of sets.
