Maybe it's wrong to revive this old thread, but I need to ask you something: how do you make such smooth prints? I find your designs really inspiring and would love to try doing these kinds of parts myself. From what I've read you're printing with PLA. What kind of processing do you do afterwards? Sandpaper?

I have recently gotten my eyes on this set and I love looking at all the mods posted here. I got a silly question: how close does the Ducati scale to the buildable figures ("constraction"), such as the various Star Wars figures released in the past? Not counting Darth Vader v2, which is obviously too big... Maybe the bike could be paired with suitable driver. This is something I find unfortunate with the 1:8 scale cars: they are too big for "technic figures" and too small for the later Star Wars and Bionicle-style figures. But the Ducati seems to be a bit bigger, and my experiments in LDD looks OK-ish, size-wise...

Sorry for quoting a very old post... but since moc-pages is down, can you share details on how you covered up the hole under the headlamps? Or maybe someone else knows? I've been looking at attaching the smaller panels with friction pins using either 42003 or 6536. But I'm worried it will feel "unfinished" since it will not be completely fixed in place and can be rotated around two axles. Maybe there's a better solution? Or if it's the only way, would 42003 or 6536 be best?

Hi everyone! First time posting. So I'm rebuilding my old Porsche with the goal of applying the great errata. And some other nice tweaks (like filling the empty spaces under the front+back lights, and maybe change the lower rear spoiler). So far I've noticed that Blakbird's "step 5 fix" doesn't seem necessary for me (removing the LBG 62462 pin joiner in the D-N-T gearbox). The old pictures are gone so it's hard to tell, but having assembled the D-N-R module carefully everything runs friction free (after wiggling and tweaking the gears). Or maybe the friction will occur later?
