I did a fair bit of modding on my AT, don’t have a good picture though. Basically I added a floor to make it taller, removed the white frames, replaced the narrow white frames with tan ones and built up the walls with bricks and added some climbing plants to the outside. It’s more closed off that way though, and the white frames were added for playability (I think so anyway). If you don’t like the tower closed off or difficult to access the interiors, maybe replace the frames with some columns. TLDR: if you value playability, I’d leave the white frames in. Alternatively, replace with some columns for stability or brick up the walls.

I think you’re right about Gringott’s balancing the set and your points make sense. I am going to build the set as it’s meant to be anyway, then see if I want to make modifications. Personally, I am of the opinion WWW should stick out because the lurid colours are mentioned specifically in the book. I also just don’t like hot pink for such a large building in the middle lol

Question: I remember a while back someone posting a picture of someone photoshopping different coloured Lego bricks on QQS of DA to see if it would look better than the hot pink. I'm saving up for DA but would want to swap out that hot pink for sand blue maybe. Anyone got that pic, or has modified QQS themselves and wants to show it? Edit: nvm, found the post I meant. Credits to MJSOL. Thoughts? I think I prefer the more muted colours of sand blue and grey - it's WWW that should stand out in the street, not QQS... Haven’t been on here for a while - sets have all been released, and the last thing I heard those book things leaked? Anything else I missed? Anyway. I have one full set of HP CMF series 2 available and am happy to sell to someone in the UK - no markups, just the figs plus postage. I had originally sold to someone, but that fell through so it’s available again. Also have some duplicate figs so just let me know which ones you want and we can work something out.

Strong feelings all around I’m in a space now where I am pretending I didn’t see the leaks and am just waiting for full HD pictures (or video reviews lol like with the CMF) so I can take a proper look at the set.

I don’t check the forum for 1 day and this happens lol. I’m going to wait until we get HD pictures to really pick it apart, but my first thought is that I love the different roofs! So many textures and building techniques. Minifigs are a bit hard to make out, but I am not surprised we’re getting 14. Always thought it was a stretch to expect 20+ or whatever it was people wanted for a licensed themed like HP. If there is no GWP or something, I am going to hold off buying this set for as long as possible - I strongly feel it needs Gringotts, and I also strongly suspect we will be getting Gringotts in a separate set

The last 6 are not likely at all in my opinion. I think we’ll get 1 Ginny (probably year 1 because we get an adult Ginny in the burrow) and 2 Harry/Ron/Hermione figs for year 1/2 and year 6. I’d like to see the photographer guy replaced for someone else. Maybe Arthur and Molly - they meet the Malfoys in the bookshop. That would bring it to 18 which would be a realistic number I think given it’s a licensed theme, though more is always great haha.

I’m sorry if it’s considered beating a dead horse, but we don’t actually know with 100% certainty Gringotts will or will not be included in DA, right? All we have to go on, is the lack of stickers and the supposed set description. There’s more of a discussion to be had if we get indisputable information on its in- or exclusion in DA??‍♀️

As annoying as the wait is, I'm certain the set will be amazing. At this point I'd rather have HD pictures of DA (and possibly the Gringotts set, hey I can hope!) than potato quality leaked images Don't even need HD pics of the CMF anymore, seeing as people are already reviewing them lol. NB: I pre-ordered a box of HP CMF 2 from Minifigure Madness and would be happy to sell either a complete set or just a couple of minifigs to people in the UK. No markup, just regular price plus postage. With everything going on, I understand people might be hesitant to feel the bags so happy to help out - and no one should have to pay exorbitant prices on Ebay... Not sure if this is allowed on the forum, so delete if necessary!

Would we though? If I remember correctly, no one knew about the Hogwarys Express when that suddenly dropped. But again, it’s probably wishful thinking on my part!

I’ve been thinking. What if Lego will release 2 sets at the same time? DA and Gringotts. That way, people who can’t afford DA will still be able to get some of it by getting just Gringotts. And people who are getting DA can see what Gringotts looks like. Wishful thinking I guess but I cannot get over the fact they’re leaving it out of DA?

Well colour me surprised at that description. I’m still holding out hope that Gringotts is included but I guess it’s not looking likely... In the first movie the cobbled street leads to Gringotts and the shots of those wonky pillars and the dazzling interior (and that creepy goblin with the teeth!!) are very striking. I just can’t imagine releasing a set called Diagon Alley and not including Gringotts... to me, that’s the same as not including Olivander’s. I also am in the camp that it’s a bit much to ask people for (rumoured) £400-450 and to not include one of the most iconic locations, however fitting it is for a future separate set. HOWEVER. Lego is an expensive toy (and hobby). It makes sense that this big/expensive of a set caters to the more obscure shops/characters and leaves room for separate sets for the more iconic locations/situations so kids/parents don’t have to shell out a small fortune to reenact the most famous/iconic scenes. I can see it from both sides, but personally I will be disappointed if Gringotts isn’t included here.

Yup, that was a painful day I can tell you... First world problems lol but I remember feeling cheated by Lego for buying such a large set on release day and not getting the GWP? Oh well. I’ll watch reviews of DA until the happy moment when I can afford to buy it

I made the ‘mistake’ to buy D2C Hogwarts the second it released and missed out on the Diagon Alley GWP as a result. My plan this time is to wait for a VIP double points event later in the year, unless they come out with a really cool GWP AND double points when DA releases... I’m also prioritising an HP CMF box over DA, as DA will be available for longer and I like to at least try and spread out my purchases??‍♀️

He’s my favourite too! Always have a penchant for the tragic ones. And yes, they do, but judging by the stickers and leaked minifigs I think the set is going to be amazing! I’ll be ordering a box of minifigs from Minifigure Madness - normally I feel the bags but with the virus still present and shops accepting limited numbers of people ordering a box is just easier. I’ll want duplicates anyway.

Hi all, officially new here but been reading the forums since the HP theme reboot in 2018. RE Gringotts: I just want to put out there that we have one Goblin (Griphook) in the leaked CMF. To include a Goblin there without having Gringotts or any other place where he could go in the line-up of sets would make no sense (to me at least). The sword of Gryffindor is another CMF object I believe would fit perfectly with Gringotts... could be wrong of course. Happy to now officially be part of the forum!
