I never understood that mini/poly bag set. I'm all for more micro sets/lower priced sets. They should have had all 4 of the baby raptors and maybe a few more pieces and sold it for 9.99. Would have killed I bet.

Yeah I know bro, I got lucky and found a cheap house finally no more apartment. My ex-wife treated me really bad after our son was born and I kept thinking it was going to get better but it never did. Things are getting better now... I just have to finish building our custom LEGO table! I remember previous posts about the upcoming Dominion wave and then hearing the movie kept getting pushed back so I kind of just mentally stopped thinking about Jurassic World Legos (also my son is getting obsessed with Star Wars). Does anyone know if there's going to be another season of Lego Jurassic World/Isla of Nublar? We never did get that beautiful blue Allosaurus. It doesn't bother me if each wave has 1 Owen, but why keep putting Owen in multiple sets? I haven't watched Camp Cretaceous after season 1, is Owen even in that show? How about Dr. Wu instead or this Hap character? What about Roxie or Dave, unless this set is based upon season 2 of the show only. I bought my son the 4-pack Mandalorian battle pack because it was cheap/on-sale for 9.99 and it came with all black minifigure heads. We just used a few Owen heads because my son didn't like the blank minifigure heads with no faces. Thanks Owen. I also remember Guyon02 saying he expects the Jurassic World series to be discontinued after Dominion, so sets based off the netflix show are completely unexpected for me. More sets is better than no sets. I probably will wait until some of these go on sale though, hopefully for Black Friday/Christmas time? RE: No 2 dinosaurs. You're completely right. They totally forgot to throw in a random pterodactyl with a different skin! haha I couldn't bring myself to buy the bat mobile // research lab vehicle set. Did you buy that one? Not hating if you did at all, just doesn't have a lot of playability factor for me.

Wow, havent been here in a bit. Randomly was just checking out Lego.com and saw the new sets! First thing I thought of was guyon02 so had to come on here and get his take. I had no idea there was going to be sets from the TV Show. Going to have to buy these for sure. I can't believe they have the same f***ing Owen minifigure again. I think I have about 8-9 of them already. The sets look cool, my son will love the dinosaurs. A boat set isn't surprising because of the boat sets from LEGO CITY. I don't think I will get the Fossil Exhibition until its on sale since we play pretty aggressively with them and that wouldn't be that fun for a 5 year old. I unfortunately feel like these sets are about $10 over priced.

I originally thought it was the worst 2019 LoIN set when I first saw it, but now I think its the best. (Baryonyx, Baby Diloposaurus, Triceratops, T-rex vs DinoMech) I'm, glad you mentioned the jeep, it's a bit bigger than you realize until you start to build it. I actually really like the camper. You can shift he bed over 1 row against the camper wall so there's more space for your minifigures + red. One of the things that is confusing/a bit frustrating is how this set has the hidden treasure and the chest. Because there's also another one in the Dino Mech set. As its been discussed, it's so frustrating how these sets don't really play well together. I guess the Drone set with the gift shop and the Triceratops set kind of go together in the park. I just think there were so many more opportunities to have better sets from LoIN. I bought this off amazon for $48 I think, same price available still. I wanted to get them fast for my son who watched the show and was concerned (at the time) they would sell out since the 2018 sets were starting to sell out. I agree, wait for a big discount on these next year.

my son plays the jurassic world lego game on steam, great game IMO, very fun so far. Well they basically copy the movies, so he saw the scene with the mosasaurus, and also in camp cretaceous. He wants one really bad. I never thought it would be possible because theyre so much bigger compared to other dinosaurs. then I googled lego mosasurus and found they made one before. Lego #6721 from 2001. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=6721-1 https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6721-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0} https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Dinosaurs - some baby/young brachiosaurus polybag sets here. It's kind of weak / quite small but I would definitely buy this for him considering how much he wants one. I'm just not in the mood to buy it for $40.00 at this time, don't think thats worth the price that doesn't include a set. I also bought one of those 8-pack dinosaur knock-off lego packs from China on ebay. They're better than I expected in terms of quality, but obviously not legit. The set i got has a baby brachiosaurus (I think so). They're good "filler" dinosaurs to have if you have a bigger dinosaur world/set-up. Because the official ones from Legos are obviously expense. Lego Bachiosuarus - https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6719-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0} As I'm reading this, I might buy one of these if they're under 20$. https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Dino Dude no joke, most of these sets are better than the Jurassic World sets (sans 2018). EDIT - Also found this on lego's idea site - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/18aeef15-524d-4cda-b67a-c497c793ccf4 So maybe its being talked about more by Lego as a possible future dinosaur. EDIT2- I found this jaang brick video i thought it was a fun watch, we don't have all the dinosaurs unlocked yet. -

I understand, my bad. I guess I'm having trouble finding things to talk about since a lot of people agree that the LoIN wave was terrible, and the 2020 wave isn't that great besides Anklyo vs Irex. I think it was confirmed that JW3 is now delayed until Summer of 2022, so that means the sets will not be released until after due to movie spoilers? I'm new here, is there another area of the forum to talk about JW/JP universe?
-
Thanks for the information about the prequel novel, never heard of it. I understand character arc's, read up on Game of Thrones for years... the argument I have is they don't really show an "arc" for her. Its just a different character from movie A and at the start of movie B you don't know who she is. I guess I would have liked to see a bit more of her changing on screen? So, what is your favorite role with BDH? I just think shes unlikable in JW so far, maybe she is acting that way on purpose. I saw her in an episode of Black Mirror on netflix and I didn't really like her character or acting. Also when I see her acting I see BDH, not a character. Maybe thats part of the reason why i'm strugging with her JW character. I'm really interested in seeing Alan Grant and more of the original cast in this new movie!

Spoiler box is for my comments on double trouble: https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Jurassic-Dino-Mech-Battle-Pieces/dp/B07NRT2CJR/ref=gbps_tit___05f980ad?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Everyone's favorite set is on sale. I do agree with the consensus here about it. I got it for 30% on Barnes n Nobles clearance sale. the Dino Mech toes break off, every single time we play with it. Side panels pop off the set. The boat and baby raptors are really cool, my son pushes that all around the carpet. The volcano thingy is the dumbest thing in this set IMO. It's just a big waste of pieces. "716 pieces", there's probably about 150 pointless little pieces in the volcano part. I thought this set was bad when I first saw it, then I watched LoIN and my son wanted it for Danny Neidermayer and the Dino mech so I saw it on sale and got it 30% off. I think it would have sold better if the original price was only 60-70$ USD instead of $90! The 2020 irex vs anklyo set for $100? is a much better value in my opinion. I'm kind of glad JW3 got pushed back. My wallet cant handle another JW lego set wave right now. I agree with guyon2002, get the movie right. ---------------------- I really enjoy chatting with you guys so I'd love to get your personal opinion on the JW movies, specifically Claire. In the first movie Claire comes off as this Personality Type A business women, wearing high heels, who calls the Dinosaurs "assets". Then at the start of JW2 she is like this tree hugger that's all about Animal rights and apparently loves the Dinosaurs now, when before they were just money objects. I can't get over this. Its literally not the same person/character. Does that bother anyone else? Also, the forced love interest between claire and owen talking at the bar scene is so cringe, when they talk about who broke up with each other first. makes me want to puke. I also dont like Bryce Dallas Howard as an actress so I'm trying not to let that ruin the series for me. I'm almost positive she got some plastic surgery done to lips/face in-between the movies so she looks different. I also don't think she did a good job directing an episode of The Mandalorian from star wars either. ughh, thanks. p.s. thanks axolot, this is 100% your fault :p, I'm $150 deep into these lego books off amazon (jurassic world, star wars, lego city) https://ibb.co/RhxbhHT so much fun. These are all on a discount on amazon. Some of them retail for 20, 25$ and on sale on amazon for 8-9 bucks with minifigures and story/activity books. My son loves them! Thanks.

https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Jurassic-World-Double-Trouble/dp/B08KPMNMC6/ref=sr_1_73?dchild=1&keywords=lego&qid=1602598254&sr=8-73 Amazon Pre-order dvd for Double trouble. I don't think you should buy it, but it says released on December 15th. So, I would assume, you should be able to buy it digitally on platforms at that date. It will most likely be on youtube/other free video sites shortly after that as well. I'll probably buy it if its on VUDU/Amazon for sale in the future.

https://ibb.co/QQYKbZY I started making this image when I first found out about the Jurassic World Lego sets to help me figure out which sets we wanted and how to get them. Also to see which sets were from which TV/Movie. Obviously its not 100% accurate as the 75941 I-Rex vs Ankylo is from the 2015 movie. But the Batmobile Research Lab Vehicle is apart of Double Trouble. Other than 75919 (Indominus Rex Breakout) I don't really like the 2015 sets, but I do like how they're color coded to go together. The 2018 sets are darker blue that seemingly go together. Then as to others points/comments here the 2019 sets are just kind of random stuff from the LoIN TV Show. JW:Dominion appears to have a dark red background logo, so I wonder if the sets/vehicles are going to have more dark red and not anymore dark blue? Also last random point, the 3 junior sets from 2018 are awesome in terms of price + playability. The T-Rex one was my son's first set, got them all on sale from amazon/ebay.
-
@guyon2002 @mon-o-mat Great stuff thank you guys! I see your points better now. Its like the LoIN sets are marketed for the young kids but not great for adults, but if they did more canon+movie sets it would be best for all ages. Yeah that bunker set would be DOPE. Access control entry, that computer station/grid map, the volcano coming through the roof, the escape ladder... they messed up!!! Also my kid would love that visitor truck. It would be so cool loading up 8-10 people in the back and taking them on a safari style ride in Jurassic World park. Maybe you just gave us an idea for a future MOC. I will officially call the Research Lab Vehicle, the Batmobile. How is it a research lab vehicle when its being used to capture dinosaurs in the show? Guyon2002 you need to do some sort of youtube channel going over sets... really good knowledge of everything I appreciate it.
-
@Guyon2002 You are saying its non-canon, agreed I understand. But the 2019 sets are strictly based off the non-canon Lego Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar kids tv-series. My son just turned 5, I think jurassic park/world might be to violent/scary for him still? The Lego JW LoIN tv show is basically a cartoon right? Then they make sets from that cartoon for the kids. I don't know if could be Canon and sell to a 5-year old? Unless you're saying the lego JW shows should have never happened and they should only make canon related movie sets. I would still probably be okay with that, but my son just might not be as interested. So maybe they were looking at it as marketing it to a younger age group. However, I do agree they kind of half-assed it. They used the main characters from JW and brought back JP characters for single episodes. They could have used better stuff from the LoIN show in the sets. ""downright awful build and tons of stickers. "" --> are sticker pieces not fun, or am I missing something? I bought a few extra JW sticker sheets off Bricklink to put on random pieces because the stickers are cheap there. Edit - Re: Dino Mech. I agree about the volcano section just seems like a bunch of random throwin stuff for the set. The thing that makes me the most frustrated about the set is that the Dino mech in the show battled the Allosaurus much longer than the T-Rex. But they probably didn't want to make a new dino just for 1 set. :(
-
Good points about the trike set. Just feels a bit more on the display type set to me than long term playability. My son just takes all the fence pieces and makes a super fence anyways from all the other sets. Thanks for the feedback about the themes. I was just doing some browsing on lego.com and I think I'm going to look into some of these 3-in-1 creator sets for next year until JWD is out. They seem well built and have some cool looking buildings. I will check out the all stars thing that you mentioned. We have quite a few star wars freemakers episodes left. I really like Lego Star wars because it's not as violent as re star wars he's not ready for that. Same with jurassic park films yet but he's close. I think the trike and bary sets should have been $10 cheaper. And I do agree the dino mech set is kind of overpriced but my son loves the dinomech from the show. That's how they get you lol. Never checked out ninjago trying to avoid that one seems like a ton of sets.
-
Thanks for explaining about the movie budget didn't think about that. Going to be sad if they can the series but it doesn't seem as profitable as star wars and harry potter. My son is getting into this Freemaker series from 2018 and I think that's going to lead him down to star wars sets. He thinks the AT-AT is cool so might be looking at that for his big Xmas present. I'm also interested to why he doesn't like the 2019 sets that much. For me it comes down to 2 factors: price and playability. For example I though the $20 drone set was stupid, but my son loves it. I guess it's quick and fun for him to grab and play with. I think the triceratops set is terrible because there's not much to do besides take that dino and fight it vs a Trex or something. That set doesnt play well, and is kind of pricey. The baryonyx set is great if you get a sick discount on it. I was also very surprised how well the green jeep is built and the trailer is fun. Dino mech is only cool if you watched the show otherwise it's not that great in my opinion. I'm really surprised guyon2002 doesnt like the Dr. Wu set. Really fun set for only $20. Brick link has changed my life haha. It's so much fun buying individual pieces and minifigs instead of buying full sets. I did end up buying a new $35 indoraptor because I didn't want the lockwood estate set. It's too much for my son to play with and we already had Blue so I didn't think it was worth the $130 usd. If guyon2002 Is right about JW Lego going away after JWD, what other series will you guys focus on? I bought the ghost train hidden side set on discount 25% just so my son could have another train but the rest of that series is really silly. The city sets are lacking bad. I see lego pushing this MonkieKing sets but I don't know anything about it.
-
Duddddeeeeeeee, AXO! What are you doing man. I'm going to be dropping so much money on these books and mini figs ughhh. But my son will love them. Yeah totally agree and understand. The Jurassic World Lego sets and TV show is a total hit with my son, and Lego has already got a few hundred $$$ out of me for the sets. I kind of think they could have done a better job pumping out some more sets. Unless they aren't selling that great and I'm over estimating them? I agree the last 2 waves aren't that great, 2018 was sweet though. I know this is off topic, but besides Lego JW, my son is also into Lego CITY. I looked at the new sets and I don't like any of them. My son just started watching Lego Star Wars Freemakers on youtube. So instead of buying him those sets (hard to find, and retired+marked up) I'm just buying him the 3 minifigs off Bricklink.com. This takes me back to Jurassic World Lego. I've been buying a bunch of Support Fence pieces off Brick Link and plants/anything I think is dinosaur related for a possible MOC. Just seems like its more fun to build our own Jurassic World than wait on Lego to try and give us something better. As we discussed with others the last 2 JW wave sets do not fit that great that with each other.
-
Okay. Wow. This is completely new to me. Jurassic Park Lego books that come with pieces. My son is going to love this. I also see some Lego CITY books that come with 2 minifigs+pieces for only 8.99 US. These seem like amazing value in terms of being able to build + then read a book at night before bed. Thank you so much for linking this. I bought all of the episodes on VuDu. Double trouble is not on there yet. I will let you know if I see it anywhere, most likely will show up on youtube first if anyone recorded the episodes. I know you want to see it but IMHO it was kind of a let down. I wonder if they plan on doing Island of Nublar season 2.
-
No he doesn't. But he did find out that you can fit 2 seats in the front cockpit so he puts 2 characters in there which I think is really cool. I just like to factor in playability + cost and I think its one of the better sets. I bought a bunch of extra lego chain/rope pieces off brick link and he makes all these big transport cages and moves the dinosaurs around everywhere. I really think JW Lego sets would do better if they made more sets $40 and under. These $50-$60 sets are just blah to me.
-
Well said, I agree with almost every point. I also don't like how there's a 5th pteradon of the series in the set as well. Feels like a cheap throw-in. The research vehicle is first used by Vic Hoskins in the episode. The flying drone from Isla of Nublar ending is first and only used by Vic Hoskins. But instead Owen is the main figure of those sets. One of my favorite sets from the JW Lego series is 75931 Dilpo Outpost Attack because it has 3 Guards/ACU Minifigures. There's also a Pteradon 4+ set with a Helicopter and 2 ACU Minifigures. Those are fun sets that my son loves. But again I agree, they tried too hard with the research vehicle. My son gets so much play from the T-Rex Transport and the Blue Helicopters pursuit. I think we have like 8 Owens and 6 Clares. They left so much out of the show that they could have put in the sets. I'm going to wait and see how the movie and round of Dominion Lego sets go. I'm kind of hoping he gets into Star Wars or something because I don't have high hopes for future JW Lego Sets. They need to offer more sets at lower prices IMO. Blues Helicopter, Dilpo Outpost, Dr. Wus Lab, the 4+ sets, all around $20-$50 and they play the best from what I've seen. @MrActae don't know if you deleted your post(s) or got banned, but here's my 2 cents. I did check out the Dino Attack sets wiki page on the web. Looks really cool and fun. I know my son would love that helicopter, and huge gated dinosaur set. The thing you might not be in touch with us the Lego sets and Lego show combinations. All of my sons sets are Jurassic World, CITY, or Train sets. He loves watching the island of nublar TV series and any Lego City video on YouTube. Then he wants to play with them and do what they did in the show. Last, i think you could just take the JW dinosaurs and make custom sets for them similar to Dino Attack sets. As we discussed before here, they didnt give any effort of being able to combine JW sets into 1 big park or big play set. (Good example is Monkie Kid) those sets can attach together. I think they make more money from the JW branding than making more Dino Attacks sets. We prob won't see those again. Plus the Trex transport is a way better upgrade over that older triceratops transport.

Thoughts on part 1 of Double Trouble:
-
Thanks for the info. I found it on the nick tv schedule site. I suspect it might be 2 parts at 22 minutes each like The Secret Exhibit was? Does anyone know how to watch Nick live tv online? I don't have that channel :(
-
Does this mean it will be released on peacock|kids? I never heard of this channel(?) before, but maybe thats because I'm in the US. Great... my son is probably going to want the research vehicle now since its going to be in this short film. How long do you think it will be? Maybe 2 episodes again, 22m-23m each?
-
I 100% agree with you. I have that set as well, and it's one of my favorite sets. I like how it comes with 3 guards/ACU minifigures. I don't like how almost every set has Gwen and/or Gwen+Claire. I also think its one of the better dinosaurs lego has made. I'm aware the Dilo is supposed to be a baby one, but the picture art makes it seem like the Dilo is much bigger than a minifig when its almost the same height. It's fine, I still like the baby Dino. It will go good with the Dr. Wu's lab baby dinosaurs.
-
Just got around to putting together 75934 - Dilophosaurus on the Loose with my son. Wow, I can't believe how tiny the Dilo is. The images on the lego site do not seem to be to scale at all with that Dino compared to the minifigures. I got the set 30% off on the barnes and noble sale, but still im surprised how tiny it is. My son loves the flying drone helicopter so I guess that's all that matters. Also really disappointing that the feet don't move.
-
Now that you mention that, I kind of feel a bit ripped off at the original price tag for that set. The truck, and carny are cool. But the gyro station doesn't have anything interesting. @PriorMarcus Great job on the mod work. I googled the original image from the movie and see what you're talking about. Looks way better with the different dirt color.
-
Thank you so much for the reviews. I am holding off on getting the Gali set for now. I already have a couple Pteradons from previous small sets and I kind of feel like it's a cheap toss in for them at this point (but I do like the new color skins). I agree with your points, it's a weird (big) looking truck. I don't really like it or any of the sets that fire nets simply because they don't seem to play good for my son (at least yet anyways). My favorite part looks like the mobile lab. I honestly think the set would be cooler with 2 ACU figures instead of ANOTHER Owen & Claire. I think the biggest reason why I don't like the set is because it's just 'made up' by Lego. Not part of any show or movie. If I see this set on sale for $30-35 USD next year I might get it, but otherwise I don't really think the price is worth it. Unless you just want new JW Lego sets which there's no problem at all. I think it's cool how 2 minifigs can fit in the vehicle but what do you do with the 3rd character? The Dr. Wu set is perfect in my opinion just because it's a small set, good for kids, new baby dinosaurs, and it's only $20. It's so rare that Lego JW sets have a perfect price point. I also thought Blues Helicopter Pursuit was perfect for 39.99. Other than that most of these sets are $5-15$ over priced. I was scrolling through the Lego Star Wars sets yesterday and was amazed how many $20-$30 sets there are. I wish JW would have more sets in each wave at cheaper prices. I think some expensive ones $80-$120 and then a bunch of $20-40 ones. This is another reason why the Galli and Triceratops ones might not sell good in my opinion they feel over priced and you don't get enough play factor in my opinion. But yeah man the Lab is sweet. If you look back at the last few pages Guyon2002 did a sweet Dr. Wu lab MOC and Axol has some good ideas to customize a lab. I bought the irex vs anklyo set for my son's birthday next month. I wish it was only $80 but still seems worth it. I wish it came with 2 gyrosphere balls, one for each of the kids in the set. I haven't looked into it yet but I'm hoping there's some possible mod options to combine the Carnataurus Gyro set with this Gyro set. Maybe wait until next year and this might go on sale.
