I post here instead. What I am currently trying to create is a "Pokemon Go Lego Egg-hatcher". Basically its a mobile game where you can hatch eggs by walking with your mobile phone in your pocket. My son and I both play this game and he (and I) would very much like to have such an contraption when the weather is very bad etc.
I've tried two things now, and they both failed. The v1 one was VERY flimsy and it would shake itself apart after a short while since the second phone is quite heavy. V1 looke like:
The v2 one was better, but some days it would clock in quite a few steps, other days it wouldnt register any steps at all. V2 was like the one I posted about here:
Both v1 and v2 was "swings" of some sort, but what we've noticed - both my son and I - is that our phones reacts better to being shaked up and down, but I cant for the life of me visualize how I should build something that would shake our phones up and down...
What works very good on my sons phone is if he lift the phone 5-10 cm up above say a sofa-pillow and just drops the phone onto the pillow and let it bounce a few times then repeat the process...
I've been using the lego-train thing to power the contraptions - and this answers @Toastie 's question I guess since running on batteries would not work for this device.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
