All of my clutch gears still have teeth. Anyway, does anybody else's compressor sound like a canary on steroids when redirected to an unused PPTO? Mine makes lots of whistling sounds...

Lego knocked $75 off the price, if I'm not mistaken that it was supposed to be $275. Mighty good luck for us Americans! But the downside is that we usually have to wait around a week to recieve items via Ground, which is already expensive enough. And Lego stores are spread so thinly here...

I'm going downtown tomorrow and I am planning to stop by the Lego store to see if they have the Mog. If they don't, I'll have to get the 8043 to pass the time. Do you think they'll have it in the States?

It's still not listed at the Lego.com technic products page, or at shop@home under both the US and UK regions. It's not on amazon.com either, which is our rough equivilent of Argos here in the states. I sure hope it is available by Monday in the Lego Store, or else I'll just have to walk away with the 8043. (I was planning on getting both.). Fingers are crossed!

That doesn't sound too good. But maybe the ticking noise IS the safety valve, although I'm doubtful. But then again, when you over-turn an LA, I makes a sound that seems like it's turning to powder inside, but it's just the internal clucth. I guess I'll have to mess around and see when I get it on Tuesday from the Lego store.

I have a question for those who already own the model, preferably with the pnumatic patch. Here goes: What safeguards are present to prevent the compressor from inducing too much pressure into the system and straining the motor? In short, what happens when you run the compressor too long without doing anything? Is there a white clutch gear that kicks in, or some sort of safety valve that bleeds excess air? Or does the motor simply become strained and start grinding gears and such? Thanks in advance for your answers, Daniel.

Yeah, I saw the bucket truck at Toys R Us. Anyway, has this happened before last year with the 8043? Was everyone in the dark too?

Same size as the 8258? I'm looking at that right now and to me it seemed like the Unimog was about the size from the cab to the grey barrier-thing. No wonder it has so many pieces...

I'm sure too that Lego will get the 'Mog' in stores on time and celebrate another product in the line of amazing and ever-evolving products. Long live the Danish!

I'll agree! I just stopped by at my local store (US) and they had no idea there was a Unimog. August 1st doesn't seem likely if they haven't at least notified the stores that these sets are coming!

The promotional movie for the 8110 has been posted at technic.lego.com under the movies tab. It was also posted at Technicbricks. I feel that the video does not properly portray the features of the 8110, especially after seeing the video for the Extreme Cruiser. This means that the official release is coming soon! Still no listing for the Unimog on the products page, however...

That's not a big deal. If you worked in the bustling maintenance dept. of a busy dealership, you probably wouldn't know much about a set of toys being ordered for the dealer shop (Darn that overpriced MB merchandise!).
