  1. Thanks dude, I think I might have to. Maybe I'll just make it easy to swap the diffs out with knob gears and have no gearbox. I really want the pneumatics though. I'm surprised no one's mocced it before, but then again, this thing doesn't have a single 90 degree angle anywhere. The cabin doors are a minor nightmare :'(
  2. I've started working on a dream project of mine, a Technic replica of the RT Rover from the film Prometheus. I've loved this design ever since I saw it, but am really struggling to pick a scale to work at. Initially I started working with the 107 x 44R Tractor tyres but having bought some and built one axle IRL I've now realised this thing might be way too big for my liking. In this case I've already done a considerable amount of work on both the chassis and bodywork but now I want to downscale it... apparently typical trial trucks are limited to 25 studs max width, the width of the axle with the big tyres would be like 33 studs. Please give me your thoughts on this! Both sizes of tyre to scale to would have their advantages and disadvantages, but ultimately it boils down to the bigger version being able to be a lot more detailed with more room for functions, whereas the smaller one would be much less costly to build and probably fit better with other people's truck trial mocs. That said, the smaller one I've started work on digitally seems like it would have far less room for the necessary functions. [I need to know if there are other people in the UK interested in technic truck trials as i've never seen them done here and would love to go to an event.] In any case, the planned functions are as follows: -8 wheel drive -2 steered axles -Full array of PF lights powered by a separate battery box -5 Pneumatically operated doors with a motorised compressor -Lockable differentials [manual] -High-low range gearbox [manual, probably only room in the larger version] https://imgur.com/a/KqdcVkz https://imgur.com/a/KqdcVkz https://imgur.com/a/KqdcVkz
