Thack Desteck—Day 4, You Can't Be 100% Sure Maybe
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah, that's a pain in the butt. Or whatever backside fishes have. Cause we talk about voting a LOT and so that word is in about every other post. You'd have to at least search for vote colon, but that assumes people put the colon all the time. -

Thanks for the reminder. Apparently I haven't read day zero recently enough. I guess that is a bit of a reason to wait, but I think they'd rather get the traitor in the group soon so they can plot and scheme together. As promised, I went through everything Coralaaze said over the last few days. Day 2 she was basically silent - nothing of note. Day 1 though, there was an interesting poking at each other between her and Neerio. Nothing was enough to actually get anyone else riled up, but it sure felt almost scripted and planned to me. So between that and my suspicions on earlier days, I will Vote: Neerio -

Hey Araveea, thanks for doing actual analysis of what people are doing. I appreciate it. You're wrong in this instance, but I (honestly; I'm not being sarcastic here) do appreciate the effort. Yeah, I don't know what the scum/traitor situation is, since I'm neither, but I personally suspect they found the traitor by luck on night 2. Hence a kill last night, when it would have been the perfect opportunity to contact to happen. I don't see the scum waiting to connect with them, since there's no real advantage to that. -

So, we now know we do have a source of good information, since Coralaaze flipped as accused. Now, as the saying goes, time to go review days 1-3 and see if anything pings based on knowing a couple more people's affiliations. And thank Poseidon I wasn't in the "nearly killed" scenes again. That was a roller coaster of emotion yesterday! -

That's exactly what I thought, and why I said my eye will be on Nerrio tomorrow - and maybe a tentacle or two as well. Scum trying to throw out misinformation? We'll know tomorrow how to interpret this better... Trying though to figure out what a scroll could do that would lead to them being in touch. Either cause the traveler's death (aka they'll be in touch on the deadboard) or there's a scroll that can save someone being lynched? That seems pretty powerful... -

Unvote: Nerrio Vote: Coralaaze And assuming this is true about Coralaaze, I still don't trust Nerrio. What about this makes you think Eeyara might not be town? And for the record, I think holding the information till when you did was a GREAT move. It made people talk more today and actually place votes and stuff. If it had come out immediately, we would have just all voted and the day would have been quiet. So thank you for holding it a while! -

< reality mode = on> Not pissed at all; I understand your position. It does affect strategy (on both sides) so I think it's not a huge deal. I don't think we've ever faced 3 straight no-lynch days here, so it makes sense from the host position. < reality mode = off > Hey sentient coral, you may be clairvoyant, but you suck at math. Nerrio there has 2 votes, not 1 twice. Since now the majority vote will get the pew-pew, I won't waste time with pokes any more today. Unvote: Coralaaze Vote: Nerrio I see some merit to the "lynch Eeyera to remove the distraction" idea, but I honestly don't get a scum vibe at all from her. The opposite in fact. So I'm not joining the bandwagon. Given that, I AM jumping on the next most likely with Nerrio. My diplomatic notes have no good reason to NOT suspect him, so that's where my vote is going for now. I'm off to float away to dreamland, but I'll check in later for any updates. -
Thack Desteck—Day 3, The Long Night
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That actually makes a lot of sense - and yes, that makes me look scummy since I've been anti-lynch. But I've actually been anti-lynch in this setting because we have a small number and can't afford too many mistakes. So while people could have made the case for lynching to try and kill the traitor before they find him, at this point, I'm going with the assumption that they found him last night (hence the lack of kill). Either way, at this point, we have made no visible progress and still have 3 scum (or 2 scum and a traitor, if there was no kill for other reasons) out there. But while no lynch days give the scum time to pick us off one at a time, they ALSO give town PRs time to do their work, and no lynch days prevent the scum from pushing lynches on loyal sea-folk. After all, they have more information than we do and can plan and scheme and work together. See above on why I switched - not your comments, but because I think lynching without a decent reason behind it is a mistake. And have you never see poke votes before? There's still a lot of hours left in the day, certainly enough for me to change my vote if there's cause. And yes, you were also one I considered for that vote, but I chose not to since you'd just commented at me. Since you and Coralaaze were about equal, the "not making a retaliation vote" factor was the tie-breaker. -
Thack Desteck—Day 3, The Long Night
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sorry if I felt off. It legitimately was exactly that - talking as I was thinking through the night's results. And honestly, I'm rethinking my "get a lynch today" thoughts. I'm not feeling anyone pinging me strongly enough to justify a lynch yet. I'd rather have none than kill off another loyal sea creature. This. The bandwagon sure piled on, with basically no justification from anyone beyond "I wanted to lynch her yesterday" and that's pretty lame. So for now, I'm going to Vote: Coralaaze You've been shockingly quiet all 3 days. That does not seem like loyal activity to me. Scum benefit the most from quiet players, and they also often ARE the quiet ones. -

No, because if I think I know who the traitor is, then I'll share that so we can pew-pew them and then they are dead. -
Thack Desteck—Day 3, The Long Night
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I can't imagine the scum skipping a kill just to confuse us. We're confused enough already, and the kill is their entire path to winning. If I have any info, I'm not sharing it publicly yet. There's nobody here I trust enough to share night results with, if I have any. Now, if I got a read on things that I thought I'd figured out the traitor based on posts/votes, then yes, I'd be sharing that so we can all analyze together. -

We don't know that they recruited.... they could have been blocked, or the target protected. So we just don't know. -

Because we haven't pew-pew-ed anyone, and the evil Gorgons have only managed to take one of us out. -

Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Fweeew. Thought I was a goner there. Hired killer scares me. And I'm completely spineless! (ba dum tiss!) So... with none of us dead.... I'm glad to see our night actors being successful. Oh crap, it could also mean they pulled off the recruit. So then one of us has now possibly switched. Bah! Another day and night done and we know so little. Day 3, I'm saying it's been long enough and we need to start lynching. Especially if the Gorgons have added another to their numbers. Time to pew-pew! -
Thack Desteck—Day 2, That Tickles!
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I don't think (personal gut feeling) that Eeyara is a Gorgon. I can't back that with any facts or anything, but I can't bring myself to hammer her just to get a lynch. For the same reason I was against a day 1 lynch, I can't lynch someone just to get a lynch on day 2. See above. As I was catching up I was wavering back and forth (that's easy for us tentacled-ones to do after all) on voting for you or not. But nope, I'm not. We are close enough that once you're dead down the road, we can look back at this voting and analyze it. But I see little gain in killing you off now just to prove you're loyal. You'd be loyal and dead. I'd rather have you suspected loyal and alive. So instead, I'll Vote: Tameekys because for 2 days now, you've sat comfortably in the middle to lower end of activity, not doing much to stick out. Seems like a comfortable place for a Gorgon to try and not be a target. It's flimsy (again, tentacles make us comfortable with flimsiness) but frankly, this is mostly a "vote so I don't get penalty votes" vote. -

As for the death of Ronnan - I actually had him marked in my spreadsheet as the most scummy suspect from day 1. Guess my scum-dar is needing calibration. -
Thack Desteck—Day 2, That Tickles!
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think the Gorgons would have had to be morons (or not read the rules) to have taken the recall traitor option before the start - since they have no risk of accidentally killing off the traitor, there's no reason to waste one of their special ability choices on that. If we have a no kill night, that does not mean 100% for sure they got the traitor recalled, but it would imply it. There's other possibilities - block, protect, etc. I'm also not convinced we will have a vig. With the scrolls, and the small numbers, it seems like a vig would be too fast. I suspect we either have a 1 shot type vig or just kills via scrolls. Really? Only 1 post and it's hoping the PRs share already? That's a darn good way to lose a PR. Too risky for them to have anyone they trust to relay the info yet, and too easy for the Gorgons to catch them since there's only been 1 night of night actions. I was not wanting to jump on the Eeyara bandwagon that seems to be forming, but this comment pushes me close to it. -
Thack Desteck—Day 1, The Gorgon Spies
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes, we will. We will analyze what we've got - which will be more than we have today, even with all the drama and even if there's no night results reported. We'll have someone night killed by the scum, which will let us better evaluate whatever they've done or provoked today. I did notice a trend of no lynches for day 1 in the most recent news archives. But as I noted, the games have also been smaller. Getting day 1 lynches helped in the days of 20 person games when you could afford to sacrifice a little at the start. It's tougher now. -
Thack Desteck—Day 1, The Gorgon Spies
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I think they don't often vote for other scum because of how day 1 often goes, at least back in the day. A handful of votes are spread around, and then someone says something that people find the tiniest bit scummy and everyone piles on. So it's risky to have any votes on you since people were desperately looking for a lynch target. And when it's a bigger crowd involved, maybe it's worth sacrificing a few town to get information. But we don't have the luxury of numbers in this situation. -
Thack Desteck—Day 1, The Gorgon Spies
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes, who wants a no-lynch is information in and of itself. Who WANTS more of us dead? The Gorgons. They have all gain and no loss in a first day lynch, as long as they keep the lynchee from being one of them. Which isn't too hard to do usually. For us, we have much to lose (a whole player!) and little to gain (potential vote patterns down the road... but really, when was the last time you read about a scum being caught from voting patterns?????) As for Cadd's claim the the Gorgons vote "in the sweet middle," well, that's a tale I've heard claimed time after time. But let's see if it's actually true, shall we? I'll go peruse the historical archives... here's the day 1 votes, with the scum indicated in red. Star Trek Mafia (town win) Vote Count: Doctor McCoy/Umbra-Mantis - 3 (Chromeknight, Trekkie99, KotZ)Spock/Trekkie99 - 6 (Khscarymovie4, jimmynick, Umbra-Mantis, CMP, Tariq j, Hinckley) Karie's Cosplay Mafia (town win) Day 2 votes, since day 1 was no lynch with no-one having more than 2 votes Tauriel (Hinckley): 5 votes (penalty!, penalty!, Sandy, Sir Stig, KotZ)Newt (KotZ): 2 votes (penalty!, penalty!, jimmynick)Kylo Ren (Sandy): 2 Votes (Hinckley, Trekkie99)Black Canary (jimmynick): 2 Votes (khscarymovie4, Tariq j)Tyrion (Trekkie99): 1 Votes (Bob) The Forest Mafia 3 (scum win) Day 1, no lynch (8 needed) Braxton Bear: 7 (Haydn Hippo, Myrtle Monkey, Gracie Goat, Ronan Rabbit, Caldwell Crocodile, Huxley Horse, Brewer Bunny)Haydn Hippo: 2 (Braxton Bear, Bennett Bulldog)Myrtle Monkey: 3 (Leevi Lion. Whitby Walrus, Cleo Cow)Huxley Horse: 2 (Pascha Poodle, Pierot Parrot)Gracie Goat: 1 (Ember Elephant) Day 2 Myrtle Monkey: 7 (Pierot Parrot, Ember Elephant, Whitby Walrus, Gracie Goat, Ronan Rabbit, Leevi Lion, Huxley Horse)Ronan Rabbit: 1 (Myrtle Monkey)Caldwell Crocodile: 1 (Brewer Bunny)Leevi Lion: 1 (Pascha Poodle)Ember Elephant: 1 (Haydn Hippo)Non-voters: 2 (Caldwell Crocodile, Bennett Bulldog) Pirates Mafia (draw) Day 1, no lynch Barty Brewster - 3 (Thomas, Henry, Timothy) Timothy Dixon - 1 (Geoffrey) Gordon Smith - 1 (Joseph) Henry Ogden - 1 (Barty) Alexander Pinkerton - 4 (Nigel, Gordon, Malcolm, Remy) Remy Fontaine - 4 (Patrick, Jack, Louisa, Jane) Day 2 Remy Fontaine - 8 (Thomas, Joseph, Jack, Timothy, Henry, Louisa, Barty, Malcolm) Henry Ogden - 1 (Nigel) Nigel Clayton - 1 (Patrick) Louisa Hammond - 2 (Gordon, Geoffrey) Ok, that's enough digging through the records. Here's what I see. Yes, there's a couple times the scum are in the middle. But there's more times where they're not. They pile on at the end. They hammer. They spread out. So no, I don't think there's much merit to looking closer at the "middle of the pack" voters. And therefore, little for us to gain from the lynch. -

Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Man, I head out for the day-long International Clam and Jellyfish Conference and miss so much drama! And that's why I don't want to see a lynch today. Discussion, accusations, poking each other, heck yea. But why help the Gorgons by (probably) lynching one of our own? And that does NOT mean sitting idly by on day 2 or 3 waiting for night action reports. We can evaluate what's been said and what votes are placed whether someone got lynched or not. Lynch results are only 1 piece of the information. -
Thack Desteck—Day 1, The Gorgon Spies
Scabowee-wah replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I agree with the first line, and that's by far the simplest method. And I am leaning no lynch. With a small group of loyalists here, we can't afford to sacrifice unnecessarily. Appreciate the clarification. We ambassador-types always like clarity on rules. And I certainly prefer mandatory voting to get people on the record. I'm not one of those politicians that try to flip flop and waffle and avoid taking a stand. That said, I'm going to start things with a Vote: Ronnan because you haven't commented on the proceedings yet today, so here's a firm poke. -

My tentacles give me all the mobility one could ever need. But had I not the tentacles, your fins would be a fabulous alternative. And I already use Excel (Google Sheets actually, so it's mobile) for my coral-related and Gorgon-hunting duties.
