  1. I designed a couple of buildings to compliment my modular building but instead of buying the sets through LDD, I want to source the parts myself. I've been looking around LDD and I can't find the function that will give me a list of parts used in my design. Can anyone help? Edit: I guess the last page of the HTML building instruction does this... it's not very intuitive place to find it. I thought there would be a function for within the build screen.
  2. Here are my ideas/suggestions: 1. Revisit the cafe concept. Cafe Corner was great but it lacked interior and many of us missed out on the first modular building. I would love to see LEGO revisit the cafe/restaurant idea, this time with interior - e.g. 1st floor "bar" area (strictly non-alcoholic of course ) plus kitchen, 2nd floor dinning area, 3rd floor/roof top "root beer" garden. 2. A car showroom/garage modular. This will have to be a full 32x32 building like Fire Brigade. 2/3 of first floor could be a car showroom and 1/3 could be devoted to a ramp or elevator that takes you up to 2nd floor garage/workshop where cars are being repaired. 3. Not so much a suggestion for type of building but a suggestion to add more variation to architectural styles. In a real city/town, you'll often see a mix of different style of building based on when they are constructed. All the modular buildings thus far have a late 19th/early 20th century look and feel, which are great. But I'm hoping maybe LEGO will add some more diverse style to the future modular buildings. How about a mid century modern bank building? Cape cod style post office? Art deco book store?
  3. Sorry to revive an old thread jmupton2000... did you ever finish your double decker MOC? I recently picked up the City Corner set after having purchased the City Transport Center first and I must say the yellow bus left me a bit disappointed. First, the bus is kind of short... it could do with a 4 stud extension (and 2 more seats). Second, the low floor transit bus usually has the engine in the back but this bus a window in the back... where is the engine supposed to be located? And third, and this is probably an US-only observation... our city bus tend to be powered by CNG (as opposed to diesel in Europe) so they all have a big CNG tank on the roof. Like this... So anyways... I'm working on MOC city bus. Will post the final result soon.
  4. This set and Grand Emporium brought me out of my darkages I stopped buying LEGO towards the end of "Town" era (the last few years were complete rubbish) and wasn't a big fan of the early "City" sets. But this one caught my eye, in particular the green touring bus - it is pretty magnificent piece of LEGO engineering to finally get a bus that looks proper complete with lower luggage compartment! So I couldn't pass it up and before you know it, I spent over $1,000 on buying other LEGO sets to go with my new city transportation center (I have the original Legoland Town bus station too... in deep storage - have to go find it) My personal rating: Green bus: 5/5 (outstanding) Tram: 4/5 (slightly disappointed with the length of each car) Street sweeper: 4/5 (fun build but the sweepers gets bogged down on carpet) Yellow convertible: 3/5 (nothing too special but my wife thinks it reminds her of her Audi A4 convertible... I kind of agree) Tram stop: 4/5 (excellent design but the platform is too short for the tram) Bus stop/shop: 3/5 (it's a bit of a let down after the fun build on the bus and tram)
  5. I love the car lift of 6371 but 6394 and 6397 are great too. I remember 6394 came out, it was one of the largest Town set ever and I really wanted it.
