  1. Interesting on the ramp, my son has a couple of those, will check them out. I think it might be too small. From memory it’s 60x40 studs. The roof needs to about 40 studs. Good point on it not needing to be structurally correct. I’ll see what else I can come up with using more normal pieces.
  2. First post here, been reading for years but never posted. This is also my first MOC and the first time I've had to describe what I'm trying to build, so I apologise if I'm not using the right terms! We recently moved into a new house we built and as an exercise I want to build our house in lego. I'm using a scale of 1 foot = 1 stud. I'm modelling the house initially in Studio 2.0 and have full plans of the house. I've built most of the walls and now trying to work out how to do the roof, but I'm struggling. We have a cantilever style roof as the image shows. The thing I can't get right is where the roof attaches to the side of the house and how to get the struts (the diagonal supporting pieces) to align to the main horizontal and angled planes. I did up something super basic in Studio using Technic 1x16 bricks with holes (3703) but to get everything aligned I had to use a small 1x2 with hole (3700) to allow the strut to go up between the two main pieces (I do have a model in Studio but I can't attach the screenshot to the post cause its too big). I did have a thought that I could use a 1/2 size Technic bush on an axle and then the thin Technic lift arm as the strut. That would make everything a bit smaller but still not sure I'm doing it the best way. I've had a search around and can't find too much. I definitely have an understanding of the need for using triangles in these kinds of structures too and have read up on them. Does anyone have any examples or pictures or can describe how I might build it? Thanks Kev
