VERY envious of what you achieved here! This looks like Lego should have made it. I can get the top of the hull to be snug against the engines like this but not the bottom. I find I need those hinges to get the ends to come up. I need a Bothan to steal your plans for this mod...

legs=landing gear Oh and I just constructed and swapped out ClassicLook's engine design for the stock engine. It goes in like butter. I may add a few more 1x2 tiles to fill in that gap between the ventral and dorsal plating like BricksMarlin did. Everyone in this thread had good ideas for making this engine look way better. It's just a matter of picking the one you like best.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! And THANK YOU for sharing this design. I think the way you went is the most elegant looking solution. I used the Efferman stand so I had to limit the landing gear to three.

I've seen two mods where they both use a gear wheel that you turn on top of the docking port columns. One will lower the ramp. The other will open the hatch that Lando uses to rescue Luke at the end of Empire. Cool ideas I don't think I've seen in this thread. Ok got that site going. I found one of those freebie templates out there and I think it works well for this theme. I think I have a bunch of content. I'm trying to collect most everything I find about modding this kit. There's so much out there, builds, videos, ideas, etc. Today starts assembly of the stand and then the kit itself, and incorporating mods as I go and documenting. I hear this is never really a completed build as you always find something else you want to incorporate so I anticipating on this for some time. Following up on this. And since I'm only allowed to send 0 messages per day I'll ask again here. I just received my set of pre-printed bricks for this set from Steindrucker.com and I must say I'M IMPRESSED! I ordered these on October 12 from Germany and they arrived on October 24 in Phoenix Arizona. This is going to be a fun build to document. I'm setting up a site just for it. I get inspiration from you guys! I'll put the site in my profile so I'm not link spamming on my 4th post. Jeeze I have to make these small to upload. Really defeats the point in trying to show them off. Oh well. The site'll be live in a couple days after I finish up some more pages. Haven't started the re-build yet.

Thanks ClassicLook! I'd really appreciate it if you could upload in any other format as well. I find that on my Mac Stud.io just beachballs whenever I try to go into build mode or whatever it is they call it so that I can reverse engineer it. I've always just been a follow the instruction guide kind of person and have been happy with how Lego kits turn out. Star Wars is my favorite theme and with the Millennium Falcon at this size I really want to go all out and do something special. I'm also a big documenter (I come from the tech world), so as I incorporate some of the brilliant ideas I've come across here, they'll make their way into a form others can easily follow. I just ordered that pre-printed parts kit, and am looking at the Light My Bricks company to really make this ship pop.

AMAZING THREAD! I've read through all the pages and I'm still looking for someone who has modded the blue engine using rectangular/square/slope parts to post their build instructions please. Matrix One and someone else have done this.
