  1. I want to do the same this year so picked up set 60337 Express Passenger Train when it was reduced. It ncludes the motor, hub, controller and extra track and looking through the instructions should be a good fit for the Winter Village Train.
  2. Always look forward to the Winter Village and hoping the compatible GWP is available at launch too. However, if they don't include a sad faced minifigure who vaguely resembles George Michael, so we can reenact the Last Christmas video, they are missing a trick!
  3. What are everyone's thoughts on whether it will sell out? I'm holding fire on ordering at the moment as I want to see what the planned Winter GWPs are, to see if they would compliment a WV, and then order to get both. (making up the order to the qualifying amount of course) I don't want to miss out on Main Street and worried it will be out of stock before we even get a leak of the GWPs
  4. Interesting to hear is potentially two buildings. Do you think it was inspired by folk, including myself, who modded the Hogsmeade Village Visit and used those two buildings in their display last year? If the £100 price point is correct it would be about right for two smaller buildings and a tram from a non licenced theme.
  5. I like the photo op idea. Have a fake Santa in town while the real one gets ready at the North Pole Santa Workshop. Would they go on the carousel from the winter Market set 10235? Haven't got it myself so don't know the mechanism or size compared with the brick built reindeer.
  6. Definitely. If you were to try and display a full 8 reindeer sleigh flying you wou definitely need support, at least on one reindeer either side of the lightsaber join. Probably would for the standard 4 reindeer sleigh too. i'll be using mine as a substitute for the brick built one outside the Santa Workshop in my display. so it will be grounded (well, for this year at least...)
  7. Received my Santa Sleigh from Lego this morning. I was fortunate enough to have ordered 2 before they put the limits down to 1. I don't intend to build it until December but was curious as to how easy it would be to make the full 8 reindeer sleigh using both sets. Following a suggestion posted earlier I used a gold lightsaber hilt to join two gold "cables" and it is a surprisingly strong fit. Probably wont stand up to much swooshing, but as a static display it works. Reindeers are a little bit closer together though.
  8. Nice. I don't have nearly enough room for a display that big. Do you completely break your sets down before storage? I tend to break mine into big sections and store them in the original boxes. Makes it a bit quicker to put the buildings back together each year. What does everyone else do? I note Lego Store UK have the Sleigh on back order now, and they are also limiting it to one per customer.
  9. Yay! Ordered the Sleigh (& new Batman Tumbler) Lego shop UK has them to Add to Bag still, and they also have the Wreath available. Well they did when I wrote this....
  10. So the Santa Sleigh goes on sale 1st October, sadly no Christmas's GWP available at the same time. Does anyone know does it hit the website at 00:00 utc itself or is it usually later in the day? Thinking of staying up to try and get one but due to daylight saving in the UK might mean it's 1 or 2am for me...
  11. I bit the bullet and order the Santa Visit without getting a GWP. just to make sure I didn't miss out. I also took an idea from someones previous suggestion about getting the Harry Potter Hogsmeade visit as they could look good in a WV. Got some plates from pick a brick to put more snow on the roofs. I think they look pretty good (could have done a better job with the joins in the roof, but hey ho), and should fit in quite nicely.
  12. If the Santa Front Yard and Mr & Mrs Claus Living Room sets are real, what do you think they'll look like? It seems a while since TLG did any promotion gifts that readily fit into TWV. Sets like 40262 and 40263 the Christmas Train Ride & Town Square or 40082-1 & 40083-1 the christmas truck and stand. Those are great little additions to a WV set up. I did fit last year's skating rink in, but a lot of other recent gifts seem to be more like decorations. I'm hoping The Front Yard would be a little fenced scene, with a tree, snowman, elves and additional reindeer and would sit on the front of The Santa Workshop. I think The living room would be more like 40292 the Gift Box they did with a little scene inside. What's everyone else's thoughts?
  13. There's a new Batman Tumbler set releasing on 1st October too (not the UCS one) so there might be some site traffic. I was gonna pick it up with the sleigh and Santa visit to try and qualify for GWP if the new ones are ready - and fit in with the winter village display. I really need to see what they are to see if it's worth waiting, or just order the Santa visit now to make sure I get one.
  14. Hi here. Has anyone seen or heard any more of the GWPs Santa Front Yard or Mr Mrs Claus Living Room? I see they are doing the Dickens set again at the moment. (which I have) Didn't know whether to put in the order now or wait to see what other GWPs are. I'd particularly want it if it fits in with the Winter Village layout or would look good connected to the old Santa's Workshop.
  15. For me , I tend to break each set up into largish sections so they fit into the original boxes, bagged up. Makes it easy & quicker to put them back together the following year. Those are then stored in the original brown Lego delivery cartons/boxes - can usually get 2 big sets and a couple of smaller ones in each carton. Then stack them up in the garage await for the delivery of the new WV set following year.
