  1. The shelf is new, so that is why it is completely empty. I also had to buy a new table for the finished model since the footprint is so large. In total, the 25,000 bricks were not too expensive. I managed to buy 2 of the original hogwarts sets at about 35% off, and then I bricklinked the rest. Maybe somewhere between USD 1,500-1,700 including shipping, VAT and import tax. Glad that most pieces were inexpensive because they Are mostly 1x1. The worst part of the build was the 25-30 hours I spent on bricklink tracking down and ordering parts while updating the enormous parts list. I had to recreate the «Snape kills Dumbledore» moment! Mostly because it is so memorable due to the online spoiler hysteria. I have some more photos I will post when I am back home.
  2. First of all, I did not create the design of this MOC myself. It is based on the design of ryankroboth from r/lego on Reddit (Link to the creators original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/anrvwq/after_months_of_designing_then_building_then/). I only made some minor modifications myself, along with creating the island with dumbledore’s tomb. I decided to undertake this build because I thought the official set was incomplete. Now, 3 months later, I am finally done. I thought you might enjoy a small YouTube video I made of the finished build, since the original creator never uploaded a video. I even included some scenes from the movies using nanoscale figures at the end of the video. Be aware that the video contains Harry Potter spoilers! I apolagize if I am breaking any rules by linking to my own channel, but I did not see any rules against this when I checked. I have been following the eurobricks board for years, but I am making my first post now because I now have something quite unique to show off?
