Title: Phonebooth Stuffing Theme: City Minifigure: Graduate I'm still new at MOCing, but I really enjoy the minifigs line, so I thought I'd participate. This scene is created for the graduate. Having completed his degree, the graduate gets his photo take outside the old phonebooth on campus where underclassmen are participating in the annual phonebooth stuffing tradition. The Campus mascot has come along to cheer. Best wishes to all entrants. I really enjoyed looking at the other entries.

So Sonic, how do will we have to wait for you to show us mini versions of YOUR modulars?

I lived in Clermont-Fd in the late nineties, so I enjoyed this build as it reminded me of the variety of styles in that town (and many other cities, of course). Wouldn't I love to see a LEGO version of the Place de Jaude in the center of town with the Vercingétorix statue. Great work on both very different styles in this build. I was as impressed with the modern door overhang as I was with the delicate details on the white and blue building.

The sunflowers are great!

There are some nice details in this scene. The log bricks set on their side work well as log cabin walls. I think the porch is great, and the story you tell is enhanced by the minifig face choices. -

Thanks for the support, SlovakiaSteph. I do wish I had gone with a darker coloured backdrop and set the scene at dusk in order to enhance the morbid aspect of the vignette. -
The saloon and bar a rather clean and sleek for a WW town, but the scene is great, the minifigs are fun, and the bandit is superb!

Posh Shop? Haha, love it.

A delightfil build. I really enjoy the overall look of the scene and there are some great details. -
These are quite cute and a nice addition to a VERY playable town. I should build some of these homes with my son. Far better to play with than modulars, and we could build a whole village of them with the spare bricks we have. Thanks for sharing!

Neat little details such as the red trans bars on the exterior, or the lamp above the stairway. Great interpretation of an In-n-Out.

WW Category 2 Entry : Old California way

This does a great job of capturing a classic Lego feel. The buildings and streets are crisp (and yet still old west dirty), and you demonstrate what can be done with primary colours. -

Fantastic shingle work on the Hotel exterior walls. -
All of the minifigs in this one look great!

Thanks, I think I should spend more time creating brick-built animals instead of relying on molded ones. Do you mean the title? Ok, thanks for the feedback. I will try to keep the printwork to a minimum. -
I enjoyed your designs, esp the parrot and the Fabufig - I'd like to see a whole series of giant Fabufig-inspired models. My wife bought this set and it does have limited MOCing utility, but for less serious creations it can be a lot of fun. We decided to look up the name of an official Model of the Month, each build our own design using bricks from this set, and then compare our models with one another and with the "official" model on Lego.com. Loads of fun, and great for a simple party game (even with non-AFOL adults). I hope your review inspires this kind of funplay.

I loved the guy in to trough. And the upper facade of the saloon looks great!

This looks like a nice fusion of the DA bank and the GE. The detailing is great. (However, the sidewalk is a bit of a dull disappointment.) Aside from that, super work! Any shots of the interior or other angles of the bank?

You can sense the action about to happen. It's as if the minifig is saying, "By Merlin's beard! What lies yonder?"

This is my first MOC. I came out of my Dark Ages this summer and have been excited to catch up on all the LEGO I've missed over the past 20+ years. Creator is my favourite LEGO line, and so I'm very interested in exploring the world of MOCing. This is Elinor Louis Rowley. She and her husband, Philemon, were migrating out West when he caught malaria and died along the trail. Some of the other pioneers helped Elie to bury Philemon last night, but as the sun begins to rise on the prairie, the wagon train heads onward and Elie has only a few short moments to say good-bye before she gets left behind. Both Elie and Rover are reluctant to leave the gravesite (Betsy couldn't care less; there's now less of a load to carry). I had wanted to create a whole wagon "train" community for Category 1, but as a new AFOL, I don't have the bricks for such a large diorama. Elie is made primarily from parts taken from a 75% off HP The Burrow set I picked up at Walmart. The dark eyes were chosen for their ability to show how malnourished and ill Elie has become. As The wagon train pulls away, Elie tries to pull herself away. The vulture lying in wait only furthers her hestitation. Eventually, she sets Philemon's hat on his grave, leaves some wildflowers, and turns away.

Love the arch details

I think that your mountie looks great. I suppose I am of the camp that prefers to see existing LEGO parts used in innovative ways/combinations rather than a bunch of user-created or 3rd party add-ons. I also enjoyed the stage coach and the mountain edge.
