  1. That may be true for you, for me it isn't. I never think "Oh, that's Tom Hardy!" (just to give one example). Some people, to me, are just much better at transforming their whole appearance than others. But yes, we'll wait and see. Edit: Oh well, wait and see in 2022!
  2. I'm actually sorta happy that Depp won't continue as Grindelwald because for me he's one of those actors who always look like themselves, whatever role they play and whatever the make-up/costume department did, because they can't let go of their personal mannerisms. Like someone else said earlier, I couldn't ever connect him with Grindelwald from the Harry Potter movies. It's a shame Jamie Campbell Bower is still so young.
  3. The new Hogwarts game looks gorgeous but did you guys notice there's almost no girls in the trailer, especially in the close-ups? Why are they marketing this mostly to boys, Harry Potter is so well-known for being loved by both genders.
  4. That's annoying, I was so afraid someone would tell me off as well! But I got all 16 from two different toy stores (in Germany) and nobody said anything. In one store the box was actually right next to the cash register and I stood there for about twenty minutes but the employee just thought it was funny I think. I got all 16 without making any mistakes even though this was my first time trying, so yay!
  5. In case any fellow Germans missed out on the Promobrick article, the CMF is already available at several Galerias and other toy stores. I picked up Dumbledore, Myrtle and one of the twins on Friday.
  6. To me the print on the blanket looks like an H for Harry.
  7. I only had an extra 1x2x5 tan brick (and a 1x2x1 tan brick) but that didn't look good up there so I actually removed the tan column from the ground floor of the Great Hall tower, used it in the Astronomy Tower and put the 1x2x5 in the Great Hall tower instead. Looks good there because the floors above use the same piece. If you don't have that either you'll have to get one of the columns I guess, it's called a "Support 1x1x6 Solid Pillar". Oh, I didn't know that! Same thing they did with Hermione though. Her yule ball dress was blue in the books and pink in the movies. I guess they really needed to highlight that these are indeed two girls lol
  8. I remember Ginny being enamored with the (very pink) Pygmy Puffs at WWW and begging her mum for one. I think she is supposed to be a "girly girl" and a tomboy/sports enthusiast at the same time so I actually think her room is spot-on, too.
  9. You don't even have to swap the door frames for anything. The model is stable without them and looks much improved. I only put another one of those tan columns where the door frame used to separate the two little areas of the astronomy level.
  10. Has anyone noticed the error on the Marauder's Map? I love that they finally made one, but they could have double-checked the positioning of the folds ... Edit: Guess I shouldn't say error, you can theoretically fold it up. Looks wrong though.
  11. Seems to be the most likely option. Her headgear really is difficult to classify.
  12. I mean, Hedwig sort of is a vehicle, or wizarding transportation if you will - just not for people but for letters.
  13. I agree, it's not hard to imagine a burrow the size of the Clocktower.
  14. I have a round wooden table, not that big, maybe 80cm in diameter. The Clocktower, Great Hall and Whomping Willow section take up about half. I had to rearrange them a bit to make them fit the round space but it's a great solution for me because this way I can see it from all sides without having to take the whole thing off a shelf. The smaller sets such as the carriage and the knight bus are on a shelf though. I hope I'll be able to extend my castle the same way with the Astronomy tower this year, I'll have to see where they put the connectors.
  15. Let's just ignore him
  16. You are right (I'm German). He obviously does not remember that particular set very well, so he asks someone off-screen who tells him it was a classroom. The he goes on about the advent calendar and after that he says that there will be a playset that connects to the other parts of Hogwarts - however, then he interrupts himself and talks to the other person again, saying, "Oh, I think that was that, it was the classroom - doesn't matter. There will be something there anyway". I wouldn't put too much weight on that part, but at least he seemed to be confident about the Burrow and another D2C ("something big, no playset") :) Edit: Maybe the car in the Burrow is not a remake of the Ford Anglia at all but a ministry car. One of those appears in book six to transport Harry to and from the Burrow, not sure if it was in the movies, though.
  17. Me too. I has resigned myself to waiting at least a few weeks and then Smyths went and gave everyone this discount for some ridiculous reason. If the sets don't go up on Amazon tomorrow, I might go back and get the Knight Bus, too.
  18. Yeah that sounds like a better option. A big piece, too, but not as wide I think.
  19. The more I look at it, the less I like the hair piece they chose for Hermione's Yule Ball outfit. I actually like their solution for the legs but I think the hair piece looks way too big. It makes her head look huge. And then it is has that hole in it because the CMF queen wore a crown ... meh. Does anyone have an alternate suggestion?
  20. If you live near a Smyths in Germany, you can currently get a 20% discount on one Lego Harry Potter set of your choice, new or old (even on the 6000 piece Hogwarts).
  21. I agree, but then again, why did Lego stop making the theme in 2011, pretty much ignoring the last movies? I can't imagine Harry Potter Lego didn't sell well back then.
  22. No, Smyths artificially increased the price on Expecto Patronum to pretend they're giving you a discount by selling it for 20 instead of 30 (which they do). The horntail set is 35€ at Galeria Kaufhof, only Smyths has the wrong price. Galeria is selling everything for the RRP. I'll wait til June 1st at least. I think Amazon will get them then since Amazon UK already has them listed for that day. And it's German (?) Children's Day, maybe we'll get a small discount somewhere.
  23. It wasn't my post but I don't understand your comment about the money. Guyon did say that 50€ was $56, so not the same. And if people in the US pay $30 while people in the Netherlands pay 50€ (= $56) for the same set, that's 26 dollars more. I always thought the tiny branches on the willow were supposed to fall off, as in, it's a play feature to have the tree "fall apart" when you spin it and the car falls out.
  24. They're available in Switzerland, too.
  25. Well, they are on the German Smyths Website now (you can't order them though). Maybe they moved them over there
