sigh.......lol, maybe if i hadn't actually failed to do step 12, i would of had more success.....but thanks, i looked at that over and over and failed to notice what i missed..... now, for the fun part of trying to figure out the path of least resistance to fix it:) thanks again to you both....

Hi All, First post here, but ive been reading the forums for awhile... I'm currently building the b model of 42043 and I have an issue with the gearbox....im at the stage where ive done the trailer but before the crane.... the issue is that the outrigger / turntable side works fine.....but there seems to be no power going to the air pump / trailer stand part.....ive read and reread the instructions and cant figure it out..... i cant quite figure out how it works...as it looks like the red gear behind the clutch gear is supposed to drive that side...but it doesnt grip the axle.....if that makes sense.... ive built a few gear boxes before (including the 42042 blue crawler, the porsche, and a few others...) and didnt have any issues...so im a bit frustrated..... anyone have any insight?
