Thanx for al the replies guys, it really inspires me. Now i'm ready with the overall design and going to start on the mast design, but here are some new pics, hope you like them;

I've done some work to the bow;
-
Now that's a real.......i don't have the right words for it , i would have been devastated. But hey the publicity is really fantastic and it's a good start to build a new ship, mayby more better than the vesta (if that's possible ).

Thanx.....i like it that you like it because i was having doubts how this is turning out. I'm going for real string rigging and cloth sails , like the princess Nikki , i only have one problem, because the Nikki is still in one piece i'm short of usubale masts (other than you see on the ship now), it is going to be a challenge to make the masts stable, i don't have a clue yet, ideas???? The idea is to use the masts as you see in the picture but i don't have black 2x1 hinges anymore, but i like the challenge because it will succeed....i think .

I've did some work.... How do you like it?

I have 4 ships; * 6285 Black Seas Barracuda * 6274 Caribbean Clipper * 6243 Brickbeards Bounty * 7048 Lego Castle Troll Warship

The old ones! They are way better shaped, the new ones are way too thick (for normal sized ships), for my ship The Prinses Nikki i used a combination of the old and new.

Wow, this is fantastic, i had been thinking about something similar but manually and also at the sametime opening the hatches (that would be very cool) but i thought it was to difficult for a small ship, it had to be a very very big ship would it look nice (with the hatches opening simoultanyously), but this looks very promissing.

This is so amazing, i'm really jealous of your techniques, everything screams greatness, thanks for sharing this it really inspires
-
Wow, i think i have missed this onze, looks great, i love the brickbuilt hull but your masts are a bit short. I would love to see this with black sails.
-
Thanks, i'm aming to build better and better, your tutorials help a lot, also looking at other people's builds inspire me, although sometimes it's difficult to see how something is build (the techniques) Indeed i ran out of red slopes, on the other hand i wanted the tower to be different than the house. When i started this build i had in mind to build something modular, but i soon realised that i didn't have the right bricks for it (or i had to tare down my ship) so i build it looking like a modular, but you don't want to see the inside (it's a mess). Thanks for all the nice replies, it really inspires me to build more although i think i'm going to stop with the guild for a while because i wan't to build a big, big ship, it will eat up my time.

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
De Sandman replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hmmmm...it is indeed very difficult to build such a great MOC that's worth winning, i think of my embassy one of the best builds i ever did but not as good as some of the other builders, but in my case that's only a matter of brick count, i consider Beerbeard one of the better builders on the forum, but hey....it's just for fun...(although i'd like to win sometimes....). For me i want to know how other people think of my MOC's and it's all about showcasing and getting better and better even with the limited brick count (i don't want to tear apart the Prinses Nikki). Well....I'm a conformist! and stop nitting... -
It is just a gimmick ....

Here's our Embassy entry; The Halcwm Embassy in Mitgardia (the pict is the thread) -
Early on we where building an embassy in Kaliphlin but our lord found it was to hot in the desert so we abandond the embassy and went to Mitgardia where we found a freak of nature.... an green spot in the middle of the snowy plains, our lord desided he wanted to build the embassy here....hope you like it (sorry for the bad pictures, it was the best thing i could do). Our hero has gone his way to Nocturnus for the games....

Indeed, great idea, i also like the cupboard with the barrels. The first thing i thought when i saw this (without reading the story, great btw) was Planet of the Apes

Questions about the Islanders and building ideas

What also would be cool is easter island, with all the big heads -
I like the friends sets although i'm a male afol, there are many useful pieces even male AFOL's can use. I don't mind the "weird" figs as throughout the whole history of Lego there where other figs than minifigs (like the ones in technic Lego), i also like that there is more Lego for girls as they are usually less interested in Lego than boys (my doughter for instance ). Well i think this is a useless discussion for the controversy part, Lego is originally designed for kids ! get over it, buy those d#mn friends and use the pieces for your MOC's and throw away the figs (if you don't like them).

Wow, you nailed this one, it looks perfect , love the lighting too, one of my favorite series Star Trek
-
I'm building my embassy for Avalonia, it wil be an oasis in the desert of Kaliphlin. It's stil a WIP, please C&C Don't mind the interiour it won't be visible.
-
brrr.....megablocks , the horse seems a little small ay sorry, i don't like megablocks but i think you figured that out
-
Wow, this looks cool, i'm getting hungry too (but i don't have steaks in house ), i love the wall of the grill, it would be a great MOC if you build a complete steakhouse this way, i think it would be very realistic
-
Thanks for the replies, but it's not helping , i think i will leave them in one piece although i like the wizard as minifig

I recently got from my brother in law 3 exclusive keychains for my birthday(they are not available in holland), he got them from Lego Land Billund. I atached the red brick to my keys but i don't know what to do with the minifigs, on one hand i want to remove the keychain (for the minifigs to use) and on the other hand because they are so exclusive in holland i want to keep the chain, what would you do?
