Hi, I'm in the same boat as you... 33 and just found all my old legos in storage and have rekindled my interest in them after being out of it for years and years. I bought 8043 last week and put it together in about 7 hours spread over 3 or 4 days. I'm sure it could be done quicker, but I took my time and studied the mechanisms as it came together. I highly recommend this set! Obviously I can't compare it to the others but I can definitely say this one was a true joy to assemble. The way the gearing is able to handle 6 separate functions with only 4 motors is genius! I put it on my desk at work and I have people stopping by all the time to play with it. I'll probably keep it assembled for a couple of weeks and then I'm going to see how long of a crane boom I can make will all those linear actuators.
