Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
SEmrys replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I haven't been keeping up with the rumours recently so this wave was a nice surprise. The Bugle looks great. Honestly part of me thinks it's a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the D2C. It doesn't have the size or the figure count, obviously, but it's a very nice design for what it is. That Mysterio figure is the best one so far, and I like the Rhino mech too. I do have the D2C so I won't be getting this, but I'll be keeping an eye out for Rhino and Mysterio. I love that Lego are bringing out all these great new designs for Spider-Man villains. Just a shame we have that dumb Captain Venom rather than Electro or someone actually desirable. It's getting weird at this point. The Sandman set is very cool, and I desperately want those villain figures too. Do I want the larger set? It's nice, but not really. However for the price it'll probably be cheaper to just buy it rather try and scour the scalper-ridden second hand market, so I appreciate what Lego have done here. Really hope this leads to a Raimi Goblin set. Similarly, The Hulkbuster looks great. I've always wanted one. Never bought one. This might be the time I finally commit. Love the 'Epic Moment's action scene too. May try and build that into my city rather than on the black stand. And arm printing! What a blessing. I'll repeat, I hope this sub line leads to a Raimi Goblin set. Ghost Rider I'm of two minds about. Dirt cheap which I love. I'm a bit back and forth on the bike. I see the clown complaints but honestly I like what they've done with the face. I already have the old GR figure though so I'm open to them mixing it up here. My GR is currently riding a heavily modded Battinson bike, so this is a maybe. Car vs Wolverine. If I was a bit more forgiving I could probably comment on the build quality or something but I'm not so I won't even look. Silly set. Kids may enjoy it, but I'll never understand why we get all these Spider-cars (and none of them the Spider-mobile at a reasonable price) when there are so many vehicles Lego could use in the Marvel Universe. Expecting my first soon so maybe I'll ask the kid when they're old enough, but for now it escapes me. I mean the Fantastic Four is fresh in people's minds. Just do a Fantasticar or something. Wolvenom may be better than Captain Venom, but he's equally unnecessary. Buildable Iron Man is nicely done but I don't really go for those sets. -
LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
SEmrys replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What's most curious to me is that even if it is round rather than rectangular, going off those measurements it can't even be a perfect split down the center as the depth isn't quite half of the width or the height, right? And if there is a stand like some of the basic drawings suggested, how does that work on a less-than-half a sphere? When this was first rumoured I dismissed it as something I would never buy. But more recently I've been considering selling off some sets and spent the day before yesterday and yesterday morning considering getting rid of them and replacing them with this. One big set, sat on the end of my desk instead of multiple others taking up space and storage. Then the news came out bit by bit and that idea quickly evaporated. Oh well. -

Saw the film last night. Enjoyed it! And there is really so much you could turn into a set. It's also made me more conflicted about the set we do have. Because I want it. But I also don't want to spend £50 on a set where the figures are what they are, and there's no Silver Surfer. -

I didn't see the Iron Man set at first, so first impression were that this wave is amazing! And now I have seen it... Honestly, still amazing, I just don't care about that set. IMO, when they've not got a movie to promote (let's just try and forget Thunderbolts is out today) this is exactly what I think the Lego Marvel theme should be. Oscorp has exceeded expectations. Some repeats, sure, but a bunch of new characters that actually look like who they're meant to. Ultimate Green Goblin is such a surprise - actually makes me glad we're getting ANOTHER Green Goblin (loving USM and was pondering how to make a purist not so long ago). I think it's so cool that they've actually delivered on what a bunch of people have been clamouring for modular wise (a multi-building Marvel set) even if it's not at the desired scale. Trying to fit these three buildings into my little modular city will be a challenge I enjoy if ever I get this. I just appreciate that you can buy this one set and you'll already have a bunch of play scenes to enact across the different buildings with different characters (or display). Peter's apartment is cool too, although I thought the rumours were that it would connect to the top of the Bodega. Still, it's a fun little set, good character selection (bar Anti-Venom) and regardless of whether I get it I'm glad it's out there for kids and adults alike. New Doc Ock looks spectacular, I think. So much better than the NWH version. I usually dislike the new tentacles they come up with but I think this may be the best yet. The train is a nice looking build as well. Honestly, I was expecting the Quinjet to be something I'm not interested in as I prefer the SHIELD design, but I think that looks great as well. A really good translation. As for the figures... It's got the same type of design (no helmet) but it is new, the faceprint is the MCU design. And I think it looks solid! Better than the original ones, even without the extra piece. Quicksilver looks great too, which I originally thought would be the only reason I'd be interested in this set. Heck, even the 4+ set looks good to me. The goofy little Gauntlet ship is fun and we've got another comic (ish) Captain America figure, which I always appreciate. They just need to continue to make him lighter so we can stick some dual moulded arms on him without it looking jarring. As for the Iron Man set.. again, don't really care. But I'm on enough of a high from the other sets that it doesn't change my overall rating. Overall (kind of TL;DR): This wave impresses me on two fronts. As a long time Marvel fan and collector, I appreciate that we're getting new varied sets, and as a LEGO fan, I appreciate that they're delivering good quality sets that are creative, yet relevant, that kids will be able to have a lot of fun... ...assuming they and their parents haven't been priced out. -

I have such mixed feelings about this. I really like Galactus, but those figures may be the first ones where I feel compelled to look to the inevitable custom (Firestar most likely) updates. I can probably live with Sue, and I have some spare old Strange hair pieces for Reed and also don't really like the Ms. marvel arms, but I really don't like the big hands for Ben and think some sort of new Baymax-esque arms should have been used to widen him out. Fingers crossed that flame on Johnny will come with the Doomsday sets. -

Same, very excited for the set and the film. Especially curious to see how Mr Fantastic will look. Regular figure, Ms Marvel arms, some sort of brick-built system? I hope the first or third options personally. -

That was indeed who I was referring to. It's getting a lot more interesting now though! Definitely excited for where this seems to be going. And as @DaredevilFan says, the minifigure potential is huge. I was excited about the idea of the Thunderbolts and now they're just a distant memory haha. -

I thought it was ridiculous and also very boring at first but like you I put it on in the background while working and I've started to get into it haha. Although I'm finished working now so don't know if I'll leave it on for much longer. The second to last name that came on intrigued me though. -

Marvels currently revealing the Doomsday cast (extremely slowly)*. How many of these do you all think we'll get in the Doomsday wave? *Although at the rate it's going it's probably too soon to say with any certainty. -
LEGO Pokémon 2026 - Rumours & Discussion
SEmrys replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in LEGO Licensed
The video does seem to lean towards larger brick built Pokemon but I'd like to see this too. You could get a lot of mileage out of larger brick built legendaries alongside location sets. Minifigure scale mini build Pokemon would also be fun too but I guess it just depends how many new parts they'd pump into it to make them look effective. Saying that though when I was a kid I used to make minifigure sized Pokemon. They were obviously vet blocky but a kids imagination bridges that gap. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
SEmrys replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
My main hopes were for Jessica Drew and at least one variant with printed regular Spider-Man legs (like the Sanctum ones but with the comic book blue) that I could stick on a regular figure but it is what it is. I won't be getting any of these but I am interested to see how 2099 turns out. Will he have the big bracer blade things? Is there any Lego precedent for that? -

I was reminded of the Baymax arms the other day. I think if they were inverted (so the thicker parts on the top) that could give him the necessary bulk. But not expecting it obviously. I share the disappointment about the lack of Thunderbolts sets though. I love the CA series (haven't seen the new one though) but when it comes to figures I'd much rather have the Thunderbolts than a weirdly designed Sam. -

You're almost certainly right but for me it would have been the main draw Especially cause you could then double up and make a purist Harry. Also, I don't think anyone's mentioned it, and it's not a big deal, but is it just me or is it a bit weird that Peter Parker's apartment doesn't feature... Peter Parker? Like, out-of-costume. Oscorp features Norman and the Goblin, after all. I imagine at very least they'll give him an unmasked head like the Bodega characters. Then again, I suppose the last Peter Parker apartment didn't either, but that was semi-movie based. -

Grateful that we're finally getting Kraven but it's a real shame they're not leaning more into the villains you'd associate with Oscorp. Obviously Green Goblin's a must, but Venom? Again? It's not surprising, just disappointing. Still, holding out hope that the Osborn waves make an appearance. Hopefully Gwen Stacy is a little more on point than the Bugle version as well. -

I got a bit too hung up on size in my earlier posts but I agree with all of this. If they incorporated more posability, gave their poor thighs a break and changeable parts the size would be more palatable. I'd still rather some middle option, but it would be a step in the right direction.
