  1. Yep, I wish I was East coast though, Lego is much cheaper over there!
  2. Today my Palace Cinema and Cave people came in the mail. I also managed to score a Lego friends deal. I got the heart lake market 41118, the high school 41005, the beach house 41037, the pet salon 41007, the pet hospital 41085, the private airplane 41100, and the fruit stand 41026 for $120.00 CAD. The friends sets are all used, but they have instructions and boxes at least. I couldn't turn it down, there are a lot of great MOC pieces in those sets.
  3. I have been using the OP's methods for a few years and have been lucky enough to find some great deals. The best deals I have found are on Facebook shop and swap type groups. It's going to sound bad, but some lady selling off her son's Lego collection is the best way for me to find good deals. Recently I got the whole rock raiders line, one of the Indiana Jones sets, a few starwars sets, about half of the Atlantis line, most of the Ninja turtles line, and a few other sets along with a classic yellow Lego storage container full of minifigures and accessories and about 20lb of loose Lego all for $100.00 CAD. The second hand stores and antique stores near me usually also have small bags of Lego for decent prices, maybe 5lb for $10.00 CAD. It's really all about making the rounds and checking local online classifieds, Kijiji, and Facebook groups regularly. I did have one bad purchase recently though. I bought a bin of Lego about 25lb for $200.00 CAD and I didn't notice the problems with it when I was buying it, but once I got it home there were teeth marks in probably half of the Lego. And one of the minifigures legs looked like it was used as a piece of gum there were so many chew marks in it (and in sand green!). Maybe the kid thought it was mint gum (haha). But one bad score out of probably 30 or more isn't so bad.
  4. Hello, I'm a new member here. I have been into Lego for almost 25 years. I had about 8 dark age years in there. I started back into Lego because of anxiety. Building the sets helped calm me down and let me focus on something. Most of that anxiety is gone now and I just enjoy the building. I do both building of official sets and MOC's. I do post to Instagram as bricks_bc as much as I can so people can see what I've built. I also have a small Lego City as space permits, with a new addition coming this week in the palace Cinema (trying to catch up before they retire). My favorite themes are city, super heroes (marvel), and space (this includes all of the space police, alien conquest, Galaxy Squad, and of coarse classic). I have always been an avid collector. For years I collected comic books, I even had a very unsuccessful you tube channel about it (haha). But my main focus has been Lego. I'm lucky enough that my girlfriend lets me have the 2nd bedroom just for this. Thanks, Bricks_bc
