I agree, I will place flat tiles on top so it looks better As for wheels or a carriage, I disagree in some sort of way: The official cannons of lego didn't have these wheels or carriages they were mounted on turntables... Maybe i'll add wheels or something later.... I'll see Thanks for commenting!

As The title says: The New Cannons Arrived. As the story goes: Fortress "De Ruyter" wasn't well defended, the pirates knew. After a fierce battle with the pirates the siege had been lifted, they were safe for now.. When Bjornu came back from his outpost near Fortress "De Ruyter" he found his fathers just created fortress in ruins. His father taking shelter in the higher area of the Fortress shouted to him:"Come here son, we have to discuss some things about your new station". Just when his father finished his story about the Battery that should have been placed nearby, an officer knocked on the door shouting; "Sir, Sir The New Cannons Arrived Sir! The cannons arrived and the battery could be build now, as for the fortress they came to late... The cannons were supreme to the old ones, but with the smell of defeat this was just the beginning of the coming battle at the Battery of Fortress "De Ruyter" Well, about the MOC I just did: I think it's a refreshing model of the existing cannon made by Lego, I made these for my upcoming MOC: "Battery Near Fortress 'De Ruyter' " It's a simple variant, but I think it's cool! Enjoy! Compared with the Lego variant: From the back: I'm here with an Update. As the story goes: The Cannons had just arrived but the local carriage maker was told to make new wheels for the just arrived cannons. After some woodwork the new cannons were ready for battle! I proudly present the new Cannon: The new cannon has wheels, with a simple modification I managed to put wheels on the carriage. Therefor I had to break a spear into two pieces, but I think it was worth it.(other sticks were to long or to small) I hope you like the Cannon, Please Comment ! Greetz Bjornu

I guess you mean there are 'no' mistakes in it, instead of 'Any' Since I ordered 50 new shakos With the Gold print on it, I don't consider this as a loss. I actually think it was a good project that worked out pretty well, I'm building a MOC atm. and I can't wait to use the White-plumed shacos!! Greetz Bjornu!

I think your story is a cool one, but I have to inform you: Stories and posts like this should have been posted on the Discussion forum. Because you are discussing a subject here, I think it should be replaced to the Discussion forum since this is the forum for showing and talking about your/others MOCs.

I think the reason why lego doesn't put all the options in one set, is because it gives children the need of another set. I don't blame lego for making kids attracted for buying new sets, but it's a company even if it's selling toys it wants to make money out of it. So in a some ways I do understand why they don't make "perfect fortresses". Well, about the needs of a fortress I think this should be included: -Docks|A fort near water needs one!! -Big walls -An inside living population/a military population -Marketplace -Jail -Bar/pub/inn -A place where whores live| If your building a set for your kids, please do not build this -Barracks -Officers place, with: maps, many officers, Etc. ( just like you see in POTC 1 when Will turner says: THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!) -Cannons! -Hut/room for the Governor/General -I would add a Gunsmith -Stables if it's a land fortress -A large crane|in case your fortress is also a "Warehouse like" fortress -Some campfires or Braziers to give some heat to the soldiers that are stationed| this also gives a nice look -In some way I always like to add a Escaping route -Maybe some sewers, pirates like to enter the fortress from there -If the fortress has a civilian population, I would add a Police/militia like Post so they can keep an eye at the people and the pirates that come from the sewers I think thats it for me,I hope I helped a little! Yeah I did it with a brush, I don't have the stuff to spray paint. But I was actually pretty fine with the job I did Ty for the opinions, I'm always flattered to see how many people are there to help me! Thanks for that Greetz Bjornu !

For me it's going to be hats that will/are painted, so the minifigs won't have the painted parts in their hands.. I think painting legoes is a diffrent story for every lego fan, in my just made opinion I think that: You have to be able to paint, and let it look like it's done by lego!

I like The place where the cannon fits in, I used the same technique in my galleon. If this ship would be sold as a real lego set, I think kids would love it. It has much room to play on, and the ship looks cool! Great ship!! Greetz Bjornu
-
Then it's good I'm working on a Moc with the classic Feel !! I'm also in love with the classic pirates, so Fort Marlin is going to be a fort I have to see ! Greetz Bjornu

Looks like the Galleon you were talking about arrived, In my opinion this one Beats the planks out of my galleon, this one is so detailed. Thanks for uploading this creation! Greetz Bjornu

My children will never get fake legoes! I rather pay 10 more than support those Pirate companies
-
Well thanks for the advice, i bought many parts from a second hand website and i got paint. the paint is Emaille so i guess it will work ! ty for your opinion ! Greetz Bjornu

Dear users, My question is: Is it wise to paint some pieces like: The little ropes on the back of my soldiers, some swords and other pieces? I would like to hear your opinions about painting lego pieces, like: It's worth it with the right paint, its useless, it's cool, it's custom so i like it, it's stupid because you ruin your original legoes, Etc. Ty for Your opinion. Greetz Bjornu ****UPDATE**** This is how the painted bricks look like now: How the painted hats look like on a "dutch" bluecoat:

Well, people After reading the comments: I still say I would like to keep it this way. I have learned a lot of things about Detail from you guys, therefor I would like to thank everyone that wanted to share some ideas with me Greetz bjornu

Ty for your fresh comments, but I'll keep it this way. I'm having limited bricks Atm, Due to some other MOCs that are still on the shelf to be broken. My reason to participate, was to participate, not the actual winning of the contest(doesn't mean I dont like to win ofcourse) Well thanks for the comment ! Greetz Bjornu

Hello Classic pirates! This is my Entry for the PotC contest. I picked this scene because I thought it was one of the best in the movie: 'At worlds End' Well, this is the scene were Lord Cutler Beckett is getting "sandwiched" by the black pearl and the flying dutchman. After some gunfire there is almost nothing left of the stair Lord Cutler Beckett is walking on. Just as the title says; "It's just a matter of good business" This is my entry, Enjoy! Hear the sad music playing on the background... I hope it was a good shot on participating in the Contest, if i even would get close to the first place I would like to win: The lego set The Mill ( I do not own a Xbox nor a Playstation) I would like to hear what you guys think! Greetz Bjornu

Damn you just picked the scene I was making a MOC on, still we have diffrent MOC's So I'm not going to change from ideas ATM. I like your pretty much, thanks for sharing. Greetz Bjornu
-
Yeah that question was also on my mind. A great MOC you did here, Can this be seen as a Vignette?(I'm not sure what is, and what is not a Vignette) Good luck on the Contest !! greetz Bjornu

With the spectacularity ( if that how it's called ) you're right indeed. But i have to say: this scene made me a PotC Fan, after this scene i was "Sold" watched every movie since then. Have to say: you did a good job, but with i think if you added more around the MOC it would have been a more living scene. Good luck with the contest! Greetz Bjornu

I really liked to watch these pictures of your MOC. I would like to see more of you Greetz Bjornu

Well I didn't even notice that, Sir is pretty normal if you are dutch> Sir is like Mr. for us. IMO reacting that way is a bit childish. well, nevermind I'll try to keep double posts away greetz bjornu
