Hi everyone, I know this thread has been quiet for a while now and that most of you are aware of the amazon comparison site that is great for getting a quick overview of current deals. There are a range of great deals at the moment, particularly on amazon.co.uk for star wars sets. -

For boxing day only Myer have 60% off the second item when you buy two toys. DJs have 20% off Lego, not sure of the end date. -

You need to careful of when the total purchase gets near $1,000 Australian dollars. There was a good post a while ago in this thread on the way tax is calculated on imports into Australia. I recall that the currency exchange rate used is one set by customs and can catch you out. -

I also support the idea of a single thread to discuss all sales available to Aussies. Ultimately, I know my addiction can be expensive, so it's nice to know all the deals that are available. Over time this thread and the overseas thread have saved (cost?) me a lot of money. It would be great to have all deals available to aussies in one place. -

Cheers for the link to the Myers voucher distortme. Myers Brisbane was nice enough to match the $35 seaside house. They may have taken $320 of Myers vouchers from me, but with the sale prices, the 10% voucher and having picked up the vouchers when there was a bonus $10 for each $100 spent, it felt like a good deal. While I was there they were calling around trying to find the vw camper vans and it sounds like all the se qld myer stores are now out of stock. -

Have had a look through the emails and cannot find the 10% off deal anywhere. Have not received any Myers emails since last week. -

Thanks for the heads up. I finally picked up a Pet Shop. Works out as 100 euro plus 30 euro postage. That's $170 Australian. Due to amazon's policy of charging bugger all for extra sets, I added three smaller sets to the order and it only increased the shipping by about 8 euro. Could have been dangerous, they have some great specials at the moment. For anyone that is not familiar with the various amazon sites, it is worth having a look through some of the historical posts as there are good tips on how to customize the searches. Also using google chrome and turning on auto translate makes it easier still. Thanks again and happy bargain hunting. -

For those in South East Queensland, there are no Pet Shops left at The local DJs (city, robina, carindale, chermside, toowong, garden city). -

NXT all sold out. BP on its own is about £85 delivered to Australia. Amazon.fr have NXT for approx AUD303 delivered to Australia. They still aren't shipping the new sets I tried. -

I also received notification that my Mindstorm from B&N had shipped on 1 June, notification on 7 June that it had been cancelled as I was a bad boy for using the 30% off coupon, then it turned up last Friday. Pretty well packed, but a little crushed. Still for $200, I am stoked. Good luck to all those that are still waiting for goodies. -

I got my refund within three days. I had paid by PayPal. I hope you at least get your refund quickly as it sounds like TheHut.com has done a swift one. I personnally will not bother with their site ever again as it does not seem worth the effort. -

For some more, though very similar, feedback on TheHut.com, I ordered an 8043 excavator from TheHut.com and received an email advising that it was dispatched on 13 April. On 3 May 2011 I received the following email: Thanks for contacting us at TheHut.com. Please do not reply to us at this e-mail address as we will not receive your message. This is an automated response. For your records, your original query was: One of our customer services advisors has reviewed your query and we are able to confirm the following: Hi I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to you, however just to make you aware we have just had your item returned back to us by the Post Office, they have not reported to us why it has been returned back so we automatically refund you for these items. If you want to contact your local Post Office to find out the reason or if there is more information to be added to your address please update so save any further inconvenience on future orders. I have reviewed my account at TheHut.com and the address details were accurate and complete. I can't help but think their offer on the 8043 was too good and was never really going to be honored. On the plus side, at least I have now had my money refunded. If anyone comes across a good source for an 8043, please let us know as it looks like a great set, but the Australian asking price of $350 is very steep. There seem to be some good deals on BrickLink, but as I am a new member on Bricklink I am having trouble getting any shipping quotes from stores. Anyway, keep up the good work everyone and thanks for the heads up on sales, they help me condense the time I spend shopping for my addiction : )
