  1. I forgot where I saw it, but someone built one with 8t gears inside of the large turntable. I did a quick lxf to illustrate. PlanetaryGear.zip
  2. They have some nice stuff, but I would like to have the covers for them too. I like the neat appearance of the sensors and motors from lego. I am not really into naked electronics.
  3. I would like to see some more updates or new features for Mindstorm. Is it possible to add a splitter or multiplexer for say motor control? 2 motors from one port, in effect allowing the control of 6 motors from one brick. Can the same be done for input sensors. Say 2 touch sensors in one port. Can the US be done the same? I would like to see some of these ideas or others, as some of us are not into modding parts ourselves. Could there be a remote be made by lego that doesnt require buying another brick, or getting a game controller, and having to do all the programming needed to make it work. Again, some of us do not want to work in script editors, and enjoy NXT-G programming. In short, Mindstorms is a great branch to the future of lego, but some more ready made parts would make it nicer for those that like to work with just the unmodified parts, that can be purchased.
  4. Thank you Brickend, that was very insightful info. But it would make a great TL video, having a platform programmed to move in such and such a manner then this and that then here and there.
  5. Brickend, what you are saying is they are not smooth like rubber wheels? Didnt think of that. Maybe not such a good idea then.
  6. I have an idea for a Killough Platform for a MoCo rig for my Time Lapse work. I can not find where to buy them. I would like to have a source as close to me in Canada if possible.
  7. Not the heavy haul. I have done 8 axle super b trains grossing 63500 kg.
  8. I have seen Philo's work, but I like pan and crawl time lapse.
  9. When I get some more parts and pieces. I only have the stock 8547 set with the addon set to allow building the 8527 models. I am thinking of TT's for the tilt on both sides. My D3100 with grip, 2 batteries, and 18-55mm lens weighs just a hair over 1 kg. I can currently adjust COG by changing the camera deck a few pin holes depending on if I have the 18-55mm lens or the 50mm. I used the Brick as counterbalance. If I make a tilt, then the Brick will not be mounted behind the camera. I will have the intervalometer mounted with the camera, and the Brick mounted on the main body. This way I avoid cable drag.
  10. This is a MoCo Pan mount for time lapse photography. In time lapse, you need to move slowly when panning, tiltling, or crawling. I have reduced the gearing for 112:1 motor to turntable. I would like to get slower, and that may come on future builds. I was also trying to incorporate tilt, but my Nikon D3100 with battery grip and both batteries, and lens is too heavy. I may design it still and use my Blackberry 9700 or Nikon Coolpix L18 with it. I decided to use this still of control and motor mount to avoid having a trailing cable. I havent started shooting with this rig yet, as I just finished building, blueprinting, and programming it. MoCoPanLXF.zip
  11. I fired off an email to Lego, about being able to custom create a parts bin, and they said they would put it in for discussion for the next upgrade.
  12. As a professional driver with 20 years experience behind the wheel, I am totally impressed with your work. You built it perfectly. Well done.
  13. I guess I should send off an email to the suggestion box at lego. I can do that for the meantime, thanks for the idea.
