It’s been said before but it’s worth repeating, the LOTR theme would be a perfect fit for Dioramas. So many iconic scenes to choose from. And far more accessible price wise.

My set's supposed to arrive this evening. We'll see. I'm not sure why they gave some of the minifigs [? Elrond & Frodo] the ability to sit down on a chair if they weren't going to give the chairs the ability to accommodate same. Seems a bit odd tbh. But as you say, an easy fix.
-
Could you replace the 2 x 2 tile with a 2 x 2 plate. Would the minifigs be able to sit fixed to the chair then maybe?

I ordered midnight Sunday [UK Lego], so as soon as it became VIP available. It's now Thursday and it's still not been dispatched. Phoned Lego today and they can't tell me when it's likely to leave the warehouse. Said they've been inundated with new orders. Not sure how much of that relates to the Rivendell set. Or if it's just down to the usual issues with Lego online. They're pretty hopeless tbh.

As always, a fantastic review. The comments made towards the end of the video were a bit of a downer though. The suggestion that this is probably all we’re getting in the LOTR theme. ☹️

When logged into the Lego [UK] website, the Rivendell set is now on 'back order'. When logged out, still says 'coming soon'. So, there's that. My set purchased midnight Sunday, still not dispatched.

Just received an old style elf hairpiece for Legolas via Brickowl. Will be swapping it with the one in the new set asap. I’m too fussy for my own good. Didn’t cost that much but there weren’t too many new ones about.

Just placed my order. Two GWP. Unfortunately one is the Frodo/Gollum Brickheadz. Which I already have.

Excellent. Thanks for confirming. I'm in the UK so hopefully midnight GMT. I'm currently in the process of dismantling my Hogwarts Castle so I can free up some space. I'll need to purchase a display case for the Rivendell set too. Which will not doubt cost me at least a couple of hundred quid. Please god this is the only LOTR set on this scale for the foreseeable future. Because this one is breaking the bank. I've been a Tolkien fan for 30yrs+. I can objectively state that I think the show is abysmal. There are no aspects that render it remotely redeemable. This is a personal opinion. I acknowledge and respect that others may disagree.

I’m planning on purchasing the Rivendell set when it becomes available for VIP’s on March 5th. Does anyone know what time of day it’s likely to be available online? Just after midnight? Or some time later in the day? What’s the norm with early access? Some people would argue that RoP *is* worthless content. That’s neither ‘silly’ nor ‘childish’. It’s simply a difference of opinion.

I'm not sure that's true tbh. Hogwarts Legacy Breaks Twitch Record For Most Live Viewers Harry Potter Video Game Gets Bumper Sales Despite LGBTQ Backlash

Okay now that I've calmed down and had a really good look at this set I've a few observations. Overall, I love it. I wants it. It's mine. My own. That said, there are a few niggles. The large tree overlooking the CoE...don't like the trunk design. Hopefully I can make some readjustments. The stone table that the ring sits on in the center of the CoE. Not the best. Again, I may have to tweak it. I wish that Aragorn's outfit was modeled on the one he wore at CoE. I do like the Hobbit feet. Nice touch. Looking at the dimensions this set is longer and wider than the Hogwarts castle. But nowhere near as tall. Which is fine by me. I've been waiting a long time to expand this theme. What a welcome addition.

This is the first set in a very long time that I’ve immediately loved. It looks gorgeous. 😍 I’m so excited. I cannot wait to purchase and get it set up in a display case next to all my other LOTR Lego set displays. I have a major birthday coming up in April. Fingers crossed my family is feeling generous. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

The roof tiles not withstanding, it still doesn’t look like 6000 to me. I’m looking at my HP Castle (6020 pieces) and Diagon Alley (5544 pieces) sets and it doesn’t seem comparable. Again this is based on a blurry image. I’m sure there’s more going on than we can see.
-
No! Definitely not. I would like an extension of what looks like a small waterfall though. I’m just not seeing 6000 pieces yet. Maybe there’s a lot more going on than we can see in the image. Inside the tower perhaps?? I’m itching for a better photo.
-
Does it look like 6000 pieces to you? The image appears cut at the bottom. I’m wondering if there’s more build below. I hope so. Can’t wait for a clearer view. Not that I‘m complaining. I’m happy some kind soul threw us a leak. Even if it isn’t complete. *Just found the Barad-Dur set. It’s spectacular. Looks like my Orthanc set will be getting some company.
-
So the only Rivendell photo I can find is on white_bricks_afol87 Instagram. I really like what I can see of it but it doesn’t look like 6000 pieces. Is there a better photo elsewhere?

Given the amount of money Amazon clearly spent on pre publicity, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the first few weeks it was their most watched series ever. I’m certainly not a bot. Nor am I a troll. Just a fan. I gave it a negative review. Not because it had a diverse cast and centered women in the narrative, frankly they were it’s only strengths. It was everything else that was just abysmal. I really hope we do get more LOTR themed Lego. I’m desperate to see the D2C set due out in March. I’ve already purchased all the recent LOTR Brickheadz. For obvious reasons if TLG bring out RoP themed Lego I will not be purchasing same.
-
While RoP appears to have been rated 85% by 466 critics on RT, it’s only rated 38% by 37495 users. That doesn’t bode well for potential sales of any RoP themed Lego sets. If TLG has any business acumen then surely any new Tolkien sets would be LOTR related, as the original appears to be more popular with the bulk of fans.

It would have needed to be more than ‘just ok’ for me to consider adding yet another winter toy shop to my collection. It’s all good though. Frees up £££ to put towards buying the 21335 Lighthouse.
-
Is October 3rd the day it’s available for purchase? And is it normal to not get a leak this close to availability?

If you just want more reindeer why not try Bricklink? >>

It looks great! Better than I expected. I'm curious to know how much they're charging for this set. What I can't get my head around is that the piece count is practically the same as the 10229 set and yet there seems a lot less for your money. Only 4 minifigs where the earlier cottage had 8, plus a large snowplough, firewood storage shed and igloo. Maybe the building is larger in this set???
-
I'll be more than a little disappointed if it's a Fire Station. No way I'm purchasing the set if that's the case. I'll hold out and hope for better things from the next modular. But that won't be released until the New Year .. I'm guessing.
