  1. I'm dying. Despite Piglet's skinny proportions though, I do think this is the one theme where the buildables look closer to the characters than the minifigures. Piglet's minifigure always looked too chunky to me, whilst oppositely Pooh doesn't look wide enough around the middle in minifigure form. He's dumbfounded by how much Boo has grown. They grow up so fast these days she's overtaken him.
  2. Okay thank you. Yes that is an obscure way: maybe something got lost in translation. Well yes I agree the advent calender didn't sell so well this year as others, but I think that is entirely the fault of the content not the theme. Were the jumpers cute? Sure and I don't blame the designers for trying to do something fun and novel. But are they canon representing movie or book designs? No. As such I know a lot of collectors had no interest because they didn't feel there was a place for them in their display. I myself got the calender but in the end I haven't put them in my display and they probably won't even come out at Christmas. And the other part of the calender being buildable objects and characters again shrunk it's appeal to a lot of adult collectors. From my observations, the calenders that have sold the most seem to be the ones based around Christmas scenes from the movies. The 2022 calender with the buildable objects and a weirdly dark selection of characters (Azkaban Sirius, Voldermort, crying Myrtle) also sold particularly poorly from what I could see. And I don't think 2021 with it's mini builds but not so Christmas characters was as well received either. On the other hand, the 2019, 2020 and 2023 calenders based respectively on a Hogwarts Christmas, the Yule Ball and Hogsmeade were better sellers I think. Those calenders balanced fun minifigures for children with designs collectors wanted to complete their collections. And sure, there may be a small amount of HP fatigue going on due to the theme having been running years again now, but I think if the calenders returned to the traditional format of Christmas scenes it would boost sales. And there are plenty that could still be done.
  3. What exactly does 'Retailers no longer need to carry Harry Potter Advent Calendars and wonder why they aren't selling' mean? Does it mean that in the future the HP Advent Calendars will be a Lego exclusive or is it a comment on retailers having been surprised that the HP Advent calendars have not sold well.
  4. I get what you are saying as Lego is clearly not sticking to the definitive placement of all castle rooms, but I do think they have stuck to to the general jist of the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw common rooms being on higher levels and the Hufflepuff common room being on a lower level. The fact that the Slytherin common room is in the dungeons is quite known so I would expect it to be subterranean in placement if it appears.
  5. I've lost count how many times I have listened to the Stephen Fry versions (I used to own them on cassette) and he will always be my OG Potter narrator, but these new audible versions are something different. I haven't listened to them with headphones in which I have read is recommended to get the full Dolby experience, but even so I do like the immersive atmosphere. My only dislikes so far have been the Dursleys, Alicia Spinnett's over enthusiastic shouts, and Draco's guffawing, but mostly I like the cast. Listening to it has made the material feel fresh again and very clever using Arabella Stanton to voice Hermione pre her debut in the HBO show as I think it showcases her aptitude for portraying the character. On the other hand, I think it will now be jarring to find Hermione the same, but Harry and Ron different in the HBO show.
  6. According to the information gained via Faniklockow.pl, which is still supposedly to be taken with a grain of salt although leaked by a reliable leaker, the East Wing contains a scene with the Chamber of Secrets. So going on that I would say it is COS themed and expect to see: A new Lockhart variant. The one we got in the last COS set had him in his orange suit, but red neckerchief which he was wearing when he was confronted by Harry and Ron before they went down into the COS. If we could get the orange suit with cream neckerchief version that he wears in the pixie scene that would be great, or better still have his green robes Quidditch scene variant. I would thought we would see his classroom and maybe get a Pixie or two. The Basilisk is a given I would say for a COS set and I too don't see why the former mold can't be reused. I would also expect Myrtle's bathroom to be in the set to go above the COS and as such, Myrtle and Polyjuiced Harry, Ron and Hermione. I would love to see the corridor with the writing on the wall, but I'm thinking they may skip that due to space. Mrs Norris may be in the set though and Filch easily could too now that the Owlery has retired. Unfortunately, just like the Owlery, if Filch does appear I expect him to get the downgraded plain legs. A flying Fawkes would be great, but I no longer expect Lego to include the obvious in a set to play out a scene especially if you can get that item in another set, just like you really need Quirrell to play out the end challenge, but he comes in The Great Hall. And if Fawkes did appear, I'd say he would be the same mold if they are going to the expense of including the Basilisk. Harry / Goyle, Ron/ Crabbe, Hermione / cat, Myrtle, Lockhart, Tom Riddle, Bloody Baron, Filch, Colin Creevey and Justin Finch-Fletchley all seem like potential minifigures to me. Then I think we'll get our usual house students. Maybe Millicent Bulstrode, Hannah Abbott and another Ravenclaw.
  7. It really is when you put it like that! I'm currently listening to the new POA audible adaptation and it has renewed my want for a new fluffy Crookshanks. Re listening to the story has given me a new appreciation for that ginger furrball.
  8. The current castle retired at the end of last year, so I would say the chances are pretty high that another castle will be released sometime in 2026 or 2027. The Disney Castle has been a staple of the Disney line now for years.
  9. Both technically retired at the end of last year. I would love a Rapunzel's tower as an 18+.
  10. If Dobby has to be a buildable figure, then I hope this time he is wearing his cool trainers.
  11. More info has leaked: The Dobby set is supposedly a buildable figure. The East Wing supposedly contains a large stone bridge, Chamber of Secrets scene and 12 minifigures. The Plants set is a Harry Potter botanicals style set. 76475 is Forbidden Forest: Expecto Patronum, a forest build with Harry, a Dementor and a Stag patronus.
  12. What's the betting that Pomfrey will come in the East Wing not the Hospital Wing, just like Quirrell came in The Great Hall and not The Main Tower with the end challenge. Trelawney and Moody really need to appear at some point too so unless they make an appearance either in the East Wing, the mysterious courtyard plants set or in the unknown set, then I would say we are due another castle section. And this could be a Clocktower set could it not?
  13. I am hoping this will be a First Task set. Sure we have had it before, but the last playset Hungarian Horntail used that moulded head that was just all wrong and Krum has been updated since then to have a far batter headpiece. Going on the recent Bright Light Orange egg in the GOF Brickheadz, I won't kid myself that it will contain an actual golden egg, but the last set was 249 pieces with that tiny tent, so 477 pieces could do a more decent job. If we could get a Gambledore to in there too that would be great, but probably not.
  14. I think this silhouette image from the back of the instruction booklets suggest what the East Wing will probably roughly be like. The rest of the castle parts match up pretty well so far. https://www.reddit.com/r/legoharrypotter/comments/1cows12/what_are_your_theories_about_the_new_wave_of/
  15. I can't see the budget stretching to that and Hagrid can be picked up in a cheap set, but I could see a sticker for slug repellant making it's way into the set.
