  1. I think the Australian pricing is taking the micky just a little bit. 150USD = 140 AUD 200CAD = 193 AUD 150EUR = 201 AUD 120GBP = 184 AUD Add our GST (10%) to each of those prices and you're still $50 away from TLG's pricing. The closest is the Euro price converted to AUD, with a 35% price premium. Looks like I'll have to give our local retailers something to whinge about by going overseas. (Aussie price to local currency table below) 270AUD = 288 USD 270AUD = 279 CAD 270AUD = 201 EUR 270AUD = 176 GBP 270AUD = 1592 NOK
  2. I missed out on the GG and CC (and MS if it's part of the "theme"). I'm not missing out on this one. Ordered the Grand Emporium last night I can't wait to add these to the little collection we've got going on. As for the next set I hope they do a "re-release" of some of the earlier ones :P I like some of the little details in this one and the Mrs (and the kids too) are going to love all the animals in one set.
  3. I think courthouse and I always picture stairs leading up to it, with a mob of reporters/media there trying to get the story from either the defendant (and their counsel) or the prosecutor. I reckon that would add a finishing touch to any courthouse, although that's more using it for a vig, and not so MOC. I would say though steps seem integral to any courthouse in my head!
  4. That's just awesome! An inspiring MOC for sure. I love all the details it's just like a "real" movie theatre.
  5. lightningtiger: An impressive MOC. Reminded me of my youth growing up in country SA. (Barmera (+Riverland) and Wudinna for those interested). You captured details that just made me go "oh yeah, I remember...". Can't wait to see it all finished, what ever happened with the Silos?
  6. Wow, there are some talent people here wrt the MOCs. The pet store is the first modular one that my wife seems to be interested in. If it's got animals she needs it, (looks like Lego addiction is contagious). I can't wait for more details and a picture of this to emerge. How long is the GE likely to remain on sale post the release of the petshop?
  7. G'Day, I'm new here, I only recently got back into Lego when I bought the wife the LP-640 (after she decided that if we had limitless funds that would be "her" car). She have the Ferrari FXX back in return, then not much for about 18 months, then the little one started being able to walk, and stack blocks so Duplo time. Had heaps of fun making things with her, remembered the old lego sets from when I was a kid, got mum to send them over - still have all the bits and instructions :D. Managed to pick up the Fire Brigade (10197) for half local RRP price (153 from 300 AUD) which was on my birthday, guess what I got for my BDay from the wife. ** score ** :D. Back in the day was never much into creatively building my own imagined ideas, and would pretty much just stick to the script with the instructions. Now days after playing with the little one I have plans and ideas and have decided that I'm definitely going to do a MOC - thinking of coming up with a hotel idea lobby, 2 floors, massive penthouse) in the style of the modular buildings, I just need to convince the Mrs that we *need* the grand emporium to achive this goal.
