This. So true. The problem for me is I'll shy away from buying a $200 modular set because I tell myself, "I'll just go on Bricklink for my MOC parts and spend a little bit." What happens next is this: And then before I know it, I've spent the same amount of money I tried to avoid. So I try to keep it under control. But it's hard as I'm sure others can attest to ;)

Not sure that it qualifies, but I still have this old Playmobil (gasp!) victorian house that I've had for years. In high school I dabbled in stop motion videos and only recently started up again three years later. Only because they (Playmobil) are easier and larger to work with, and films made with them are a lot easier for my big clumsy hands than LEGO. But I'm still an all-in LEGO fan! :)

I don't think I've ever seen spam posts on the forum before. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough or I don't notice them lol. What are these spam posts generally consisting of?

Oooh, I can't wait to see the finished project! :)

@Brickviller V2 thank you! I'm hoping to complete a second coach by the end of the summer, we'll see how the budget goes for that! And I also just finished completing more of the station, I should have detailed pictures soon! :)

I wonder if the fact that I don't have a large social media following works against me here. My projects are decent but sadly lacking in support although promoted everywhere I can think of...maybe it's because I don't have Facebook lol And by here I mean Ideas, not EB -

Sometimes I wonder, when I see projects like this that go from gaining a few supporters a day to thousands the next day. Does someone really influential on Twitter discover it or something? lol -

Yikes! I hope the admins on the Ideas page are at least alerted -
Yes, I'm really hoping it makes it! This summer especially I'll try to find more ways to promote it... I've written a jingle that I'll hopefully make a commercial out of it! :)

Another update, I know, so many! The Orient Express is now the 5th most supported train idea in all of LEGO Ideas!

Wow that is awesome! It's so weird to see over a long period of time which project shoot straight to the top and which limp along until they die. Because for every 1 project that makes it to 1000, there are 10 that linger in the 5000-9000 period forever, 100 that limp along in the 1000-5000 range, and 1000 that never even make it past 100. I've always wondered how this is sometimes, because a lot of the perfectly viable projects are in that third category. Maybe the submitter doesn't have enough social media followers? -

Most definitely! Let's hope for more great large sets from the Ideas line! -
Another update, this project now has 830 votes on LEGO Ideas! Slowly but steadily it's moving on up, which is AWESOME!

WHAAATT??? When I checked Ideas at 11 last night, it was only at 8354! Congrats to the builder, although I'm not sure how well it might do against the LEGO Review. Ah well, I still cling to hope for my little projects... :) -

Why is Ideas such an odd fish? -
@M_slug357 That sounds like a great idea! I'll have to look into that over the summer as my summer project. At the moment I'm still recovering and saving my money after this last project, which is massive!!! But at least the Orient Express has a station to stop in! :)
-
I'm still trying to decide on that at the moment. Should I do it as a sleeping coach or something different?
-
Another picture update, this one including many of the minifigures that accompany the Orient Express! This summer I'm considering adding a second coach to the set, we'll have to see how that goes! :)

I would have to say HE, since it would compliment the Parisian Restaurant

I don't think I ever had any tracks until just last year. I started out when my parents bought the new Hogwarts Express set, then on Ebay I acquired the Constitution's engine which I then cannibalized to make the Orient Express. So I would say the wheels, the bases, and some of the more essential train pieces are the best to go for first.

LEGO Ideas: 21310 Old Fishing Store (Fall 2017)

I believe so. I know that it takes at least 6 months or so after the announcement for them to design box art, redesign the set (if they do at all), and all the little details.
