I just picked up the LEGO Technic 42030 Remote Controlled VOLVO L350F Wheel Load from Toys R Us .. Price matched Amazon for 199.99 / 216 after Tax ... was seeing it go for like 180ish after shipping ... it they were all "might have all the parts" .. fig 36.00 more for new is not that bad. However .. I am really thinking about getting the 42042 Crawler Crane Tomarrow .. its only 116 at amzon and TRU had A few of them ... but ... I really need something with some off Road wheels & Shocks Was looking at the formula off-roader 42037 ... Anyone know / can tell the size of the wheel vs the 9398 4 x 4 Crawler ?

What about Crawler Crane Set 42042 ... seems like it has A lot of clutchs and gears .. for A good price ... Also what are the largest lego wheels ... Off road type ?

Sweet, thanks guys. Yea I been looking on ebay at a few sets .... trying to get them for A good price ... none yet tho. BUt i think 42030 will be my first ... 2nd might be 9398 has some nice wheels and lego differential. Damn thing is I want them all ... Arg ... maybe if I win the lotto.

So ... I have not owned any Legos in years. However, I have kept up with videos and other things others have built. Well I want to get back into it. Been looking at a lot of RC Technic stuff. I would really like to make A RC Jeep 4x4 or maybe A tank .. or both .. long run. and then into mindstromes Robots ect ect. However ... I have nothing as of right now. What sets should A start out with. What tips would you give someone just getting started. I was thinking LEGO Technic 42030 Remote Controlled VOLVO L350F Wheel Load .. seems like A good starting kit. It comes with alot of power functions. However I do want to get the SBricks .. so the 2x IR sensors and 2x remote might be usless.. in long run. First set ...LEGO Technic 42030 Remote Controlled VOLVO L350F Wheel Load 2nd LEGO Technic 42053 Volvo EW160E Building Kit + some smaller ones... I can spend $200 -$300 ea month for some stuff .. they dont really seem too be cheaper used .. so might as well get them new. Things that have caught my fancy are, Tanks, 4x4, Gearboxes, pneumatics ect ect .. Anyhow ... what sets would you tell someone to start with ... and any other tips that might help ? Thank You.
