  1. Thanks Yea it's prity much the same car just a different livery and roof rack equipment.
  2. Attached the first batch of decals. The others I found out needed to be printed out on white decal paper so they are drying at the minute. So here's how it looks so far.
  3. Got this set last weekend, just spent time each evening building some making sure I got my moneys worth. Fantastic set, great fun to build and so detailed with some smart use of Lego. However I don't see why they included the zombie taxi driver, they'd of been better with Walter Peck.
  4. Got ink for the printer. Turns out it needed to be the manufacturers ink, must have been the chips on the cheaper cartridges. I was able to print the decals onto the decal paper. The only issue was that the digital display signs printed out in blue rather than florescent green. Any ideas why this would happen? Would the printer not be able to mix the inks to make that colour? The decals: After printing them out I gave them a coat of Microscale Decal Film and let them dry. Later I made an attempt at putting the Ecto-1A License plate on to a 1x2 tile but when I took it off the backing paper it just wrinkled up. I'm thinking did I have the water too warm, decal paper quality or do the decals need to be coated in clear coat?....... Any help would be great. I was thinking about even getting them made into a sticker set somewhere so they are more like lego stickers.
  5. Plan to print them on transparent waterslide decal paper then coat them with Microscale Liquid Decal Film or clear laquer.
  6. I've recently been building a similar version of the Brent Waller Ecto-1A with influences from Michael Scott's version off GBfans and just with a few of my own ideas. Anyway I decided to have a go at making some decals, as i'm not happy leaving it plain and with GB1 logos. Unfortunately I haven't got around to printing them yet as the ink jet printer has decided not to work. I'm in the process of buying a new one, just which one though and only for hobby use. Any info would be great...or even someone that has the facilities to print quality decals instead. Here's just a quick pic of the decals I intend to use. Each decal has been scaled to Lego piece sizes.
  7. Hey peeps i'm gbfanrm85 Just wanted to say hi to everyone Oh No! not another Ghostbusters fan I hear you say, so yea for a long time i've viewed the forum as an outsider but now finally decided to join up. Many a time i've used this forum as a great means of reference and information. I've had an interest in Lego since a child building things through imagination and being lucky enough to have had the industrial train set with accompanying vehicles and station. Through the years I moved away from Lego but every time I seen it in shops, I still checked out the new set boxes on the shelves. But then Lego decided to introduce the Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) and I put on the sad doggy eyes to my girlfriend, and to my delight it was under the tree that xmas. Ever since then i've been seeing the other side of lego with people designing sets on Lego Ideas, and buying individual pieces online to modify sets. I bought pieces from ToyPro to modify my Ecto and for the first time I recently used Bricklink to order parts for a Ecto-1A set. I've started messing around with the Lego Digital Designer now too which is very interesting. My goal is to eventually be able to afford the GB Firehouse HQ set. Current sets I have are: Lego Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) Lego Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & 2 (75828) Lego Dimension Ghostbusters Fun Pack (71233)
