10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
eldiano replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
LOL, is that why in the past they could sneak new sets before the official LEGO store release date? I’m not going to lie, being an annual pass holder member does have it perks, especially when it comes to getting a 10% discount on the majority of newer sets on items less than a 100$- 2,976 replies

The market is hot and could be a gold mine depending on what you have, usually can net you 60-80usd per container but if you have the rare vehicles I’ve seen them fetch up a high price! Hey when did Legoland start offering GWP?! They have the current Harry Potter staircase I always thought they were separate companies- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

How big of a box would it be? I just brought MicroMachines blind boxes but I can find out which items they are from the barcode so all is not lost LOL. PS. If you type in the set in PAB the lego website does populate the bricks for this set now, you can buy almost every brick from 10305. Out of 711 available bricks only 95 are sold out, they have the generic torsos, heads and legs but no forestmen goods or printed castle stuff, the only shield I saw was the Black Falcons. It usually takes a couple of months for them to add the other parts, this was the case Medieval Blacksmith and Medieval Castle, let’s hope Lion Knights Follows suit!- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

Ehh It’s not bad, I kind of like the hype with other minded Lego maniacs haha, the problem is that 100% they all want the same set you want therefore you need to be there early to ensure a guaranteed spot in line haha like Richard Goring mentioned, I actually became friends with some lego employees and they can get me a heads up on shipment, even then they usually get them a week before release date, in the past they could sell them before the street date but the LEGO Group restricted their software to put a stop to it. I agree, I don’t know why it’s a big deal, this ain’t old school lego that you are stuck with what you got, they can literally but Lego Mini head male replacements if it’s that bad. Yes, I got it for my Death Star set, it helps keep the box in shape rather than sagging on side because of gravity LOL. In 2017 there was a time that LEGO told their employees to throw them all away but a couple of years later they let us keep them! Like I mentioned it keeps the boxes stiff and in good shape!- 2,976 replies

In the past it was always 15 days prior to the official release date for VIP members, the official release date does say August 8th but like Richard Goring states also the US Lego website does have a banner that says VIP access will start August 3rd. There's a little queen lego figure in a yellow banner by the release date that advertises the VIP perk for 3/8 With that said though my local store is full of nerds, I know some workers by name but the thing is every 1st of the month or when a big release comes out there's like 10-20 groups of people lined up outside! We have to scan the QR code for the waitlist to be let inside but the thing is that LEGO doesn't send that many sets on release date usually like two boxes which is like 6 sets and once it sells out you have to wait until the next shipment. I remember when the Daily Bugle came out they were sold out for a month straight every set that came in was taken already. Hence why i'm not risking any chances with this set, even though I won't be able to build it for a while haha but I'm curious on the GWP and promotion they got if any and more than anything it would be now or never, I as a collector like to have the shipper boxes and i hope they let us keep it, other wise the shape of the box gets warped and distorted, we will see.- 2,976 replies

Okay real talk, as a Lego VIP with a store nearby on August 3rd, who’s all planing to line up early? I’m not taking chances with this purchase, has anyone seen the forest hideout GWP sold at Legoland stores yet?- 2,976 replies

My only complaint from this set is the usage of 1x1 round matte gold coins. Good thing I bought like 20 gold tree coins from the pirate chests from back in the day, I love that gloss yellow chromatic shine to the gold! Watching the build of the set is making me do nasty things to buy this during VIP access hehe.- 2,976 replies

I love the Medieval Castle for the entire reason that it’s a modern castle from lego, it’s a combination of two castles from the 80’s but I do agree with the main complaint that lego uses all kinds of colors to make it work, the creator 3 in 1 castle is perfect for MOC and mods, I have seen some intense and amazing setups. My main problem is that for some reason Lego decided to switch up the black falcon helmets to black and made it impossible to get them at the moment, I wanted to upgrade all my soldiers before the Lion Knights castle came out. I never had a forest set growing up but I saw some of them, I’m understanding that a lot of the forest sets were close to 200 bricks so I feel it should be no issue recreating the old sets, I’m just having a hard time finding the old manuals for me to see I think! Haha I bought my GWP for 30.00 usd I would love to get another one via the upcoming August Promotion if it’s true!

Is it worth spending the money on sealed MVR/MMV?

I’m sooo confused, I thought this was the Queen’s Castle, I know it’s been rumored to be Lion Knight’s Castle but LEGO updated it on their website finally and it’s Lion Knight’s Castle, THE WHOLE TIME I WAS SEARCHING FOR QUEEN haha https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lion-knights-castle-10305 VIP will be early august with the general release August 8th- 2,976 replies

I’m still confused on why lego thought it was a good idea to sell forest men sets as Robin Hood 🤣 looking back at the silly names, you can’t lie that Ghost’s castle was boss for the time period 😍- 2,976 replies

Agree completely! Quite frankly some of the most accurate sets I've seen are from the 90's imperial line up, all I remember are the ramps for cannons in castles more than walls to be honest, later on life I was brave enough to enter a dungeon and it was built completely weird(walls that led to nowhere or possibly sealed off) then again the city has done a terrible job of maintaining the ruins but what's mind blowing to me is the fact that the Castle Santiago is still buried under a hill and left untouched since Henry Morgan blew it up, you can walk to the top of the castle but it's full of dirt. Interesting we are talking about this because I was reading one of the last interviews from Daniel August Krentz about how they came up with their sets and ideas for Castles was mostly inspired by encyclopedic choices of famous castles, but you never know Longtown Castle definetly feels LOTR in design lol.- 2,976 replies

65usd on bricklink versus 34usd on PAB for the majority with shipping and taxes on both, PAB has been the clear winner in the past for me, but i'm also studying what parts i can try to convert to brown, the 2022 parts are not there yet but still, 228 bricks available from Lego is a good start! Be patient also ;) both this and hinge plate are the only OOS bricks so far: HINGE PLATE 1X2, NO. 2 Element 6416444 Design Number 1927 WALL 2X2X5, 1/4 CIRCLE, W/ CUTOUT This part is out of stock. If you submit your request, we’ll get in touch to let you know when it’s expected back or to offer you a substitute. You can buy the entire part lists on Pick a brick if you type the set in, I’m doing that right now buying doubles for another lookout post lolol they are not selling the shields and torso as of yet but everything in the set brick wise is free game at the moment! Lol My biggest mistake is not doing this while it was x2 vip points omggg

They were two proposals I remember doing, under the exclusive Lego Product membership there was a bullet that said: “Buy Past sets from the LEGO archive”, Archive wouldn’t mean unsold stock I think. They can get rid of unsold sets quickly with a sale on the Lego Shop if was that bad. I think they meant retired sets but you are right they never specified how far back they would go. my perception of castles is completely different from everyone here 🤣, I actually grew up in Panama, growing up all I saw were Spanish forts, armories, moats, and legit custom houses from 500 years ago, one of the main reason I got into pirates, those forts are wild same with the castles i around portobelo, Nothing as massive like en Europe, but the Spanish built their forts with a lot cannons in mind and chose nature as an advantage point than high walls, truth be told they’re was a mini fort on top of a 300 ft hill that still had a moat around the mini castle that was at least 10ft deep, as if the steep climb was not enough 🤣- 2,976 replies

Funny you mentioned the wishlist because it was the first place I ran to in the website, but 6 out 9 sets were sold out or discontinued, I’m waiting on the new Harry Potter sets but I don’t even know if this GWP would be available by that time. Right now it’s somewhat the perfect time to snatch one on the third market because they don’t understand the demand for this set yet. The person I bought mine from sold 2 in the last hour though.

I’m the oddball out I guess, LOL rather than spending 150 on lego for sets i don’t need at the moment, i managed to get one on ebay for 40 bucks, we will see!!! Average price they have been posting is from 40-70 on average!

Disney world, but what’s tempting is the fact that the lego stores at both Disneyland and Disney world have EVERYTHING lolol. I don’t mind carrying the lego bags on the plane though 🫣🫣

I honestly think Lego already knew they would increase the price and this is why everything seems off about this set, I think the original price point was 299.99 and they just automatically slapped the 349.99 price tag on this set!- 2,976 replies
