  1. Oh those are amazing SilvaShado. What wonderful gifts to give to a friend. I particularly like the bicycling one
  2. Thanks everyone Recessing the 2x2 plate into the horse's body was a bit more work, but it's very much worth doing because the final result is considerably better than just plonking it on top. This was my first attempt which didn't last very long before I took it apart to recess the 2x2 plate. (The Forestman is just there to give a measure of size) I thought I'd best mention that the round shield decal is ED-209's work and not mine. Elf Decals I will be making some more Centaurs and yes they will be in other colours. The black horse was a spare one I'd got in a box of joblot 2nd hand bricks so I thought I'd use it to experiment with.
  3. I particularly wanted some Centaurs for my Elf army and to see how possible it would be to do a conversion on standard parts I took up my razor saw, two part putty, acrylic paints and made this...... I'm very pleased with the final result, - and yes I will be making some more Centaurs by this method.
  4. Really really nice work on the new vignettes. I like the raindrops actually so don't change a thing.
  5. Oh wonderful! What a delightful MOC and so brimful of steampunk whimsy in its details.
  6. What an amazing walker! The little diorama is beautifully constructed and posed. I just love the the way the Forager is helping itself to that crossant
  7. Oh my word that is just so beautiful. I'd certainly be proud to have that on display in my living room.
  8. What an amazing vehicle! - just what every explorer/adventurer should have My first thought when I saw it was, 'Where can I buy one?' and I wasn't talking about Lego either
  9. Yes it's more about the general style and design philosophy behind a particular machine, - steam is prefered, but not compulsory.
  10. What a beautiful MOC and so cleverly put together too Makes me wonder if I should completely blow my budget and get some Egyptian themed pieces too.
  11. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou Oh yes I do realise that, but they would still fit perfectly into a Steampunk universe.
  12. Oh I love that biplane! - do you have a schematic for it, or a set of instructions? My Steampunk universe needs a plane like that one.
  13. Oh wow, - that is absolutely amazing! Everything has so much detail. Thankyou so much for sharing.
  14. Definition: Critique is an accepted and established process of orderly scholarly and public debate Now that's over and done with I must confess I use your 'tip the box over' method myself in looking for inspiration and just the right brick to make an improvement. Over time I guess the 'Hunter' will get dismantled and improved a few more times as I continue to refine it, but I plan on keeping it as a permanent model for both display and RPG type games.
  15. They seem to go for around $10.00 each. Some traders ask more, but they don't seem to sell as quickly.
  16. Pirates aren't my thing, but your decals are beautifully done. Very very nice work
  17. Using some of the decals in the archive as a guide I handpainted a High Elf archer as an experiment, - and yes I know his face is a bit awful, - it was an experiment Ok...
  18. I revised the 'Hunter' a little fitting up a winch, a second smokestack, moving the rockets (not missiles, this is Steampunk remember) to the cabin roof and mounting a harpoon gun.
  19. Well it made the news on TV here in New Zealand which was great to see. What on earth are they going to do with all those bricks afterwards though?
  20. Exactly, - while I'm saving up for big items the little Creator sets let me get a quick fix of something new to enjoy without breaking my household budget. The specialised bricks in the first set I purchased were a delight to find and will be useful when I move on to MOC building and can finally bring myself to pull my little floatplane apart.
  21. Oh yes that's just so perfectly steampunk. What an absolutely delightful model.
  22. What a stunning ship! What an amazing piece of work.
  23. Thanks for the comments and critique Bricker. I've been successful with bidding for a body bag full of dead Bionicles so the clone legs will be replaced soon and I'm hunting about for more Technics bits which will help with improving mechanical details. I don't actually buy new Mega Bloks bits, I get it all second hand and it's much cheaper than Lego to buy in bulk joblots, - or at least here in New Zealand it is. BUT if I can find Lego at the right price I do buy it. I'm a wargamer who likes to use toys rather than 'serious' models in my battles and for terrian bits and bobs Mega Bloks works well. For models which will be handled and do need to stay together the better fit and grip of Lego bricks are a plus. I will confess that some bits of the 'Dinosaur Hunter' are assisted in their grip with Blue Tac, which might sound dreadful, but it does do the trick. As I find more parts the Hunter's armament will improve and the helicopter cabin is likely to get replaced with something better, but for the moment it does serve its intended purpose which can't be all bad.
  24. It's a hitch for dragging dead dinosaurs back to camp. Yes I know some of it is Mega Bloks, but I don't have much money and I buy second hand joblots cheaply in order to get bricks to build stuff. A brick is a brick is a brick when you are on a limited income and I take what I can get. (rant over)
  25. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a series of Vic Sci-Fi and Steampunk walkers. Sorry about the colour clash I used what I had. A tail gunner is essential to have when Dinosaur hunting. Very useful for those times when cutting and running for it is the best option. The pilot has since been changed.
