Thanks for your compliments, I appreciate it a lot. It really was! Especially building the eyes was a strange experience: when I tried an expression, I took a step back to see if it looked good. That took a while. Thanks! I can see what you mean, the red hairs of the beard look a lot like the technique Van Gogh used. That's funny actually, how a building style and painting technique look the same.

Hi everybody! I'm here to show my latest pirate-MOC: Captain Jimmy I built this for a contest over at Forbiddencove.com: in this socalled 'Pirates Part Plunder' we get two weeks to build a MOC using a seedpart. This round, the seedpart was the minifig crowbar. I immediately got the idea of building a beard with the crowbars, but since I hadn't done any sculpting before, I was afraid it might be very difficult. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought. The name Jimmy is a wink to the crowbar, ofcourse.

Thanks for your kind words. The floating boat wasn't mine, actually: it was part of the island that Mockingbird built. Let me explain: I built this Kraken as part of a Lowlug lay-out, that featured different islands. It was a collaborative lay-out, built by pj_bosman, Mockingbird, Koffiemoc and myself. Here's a picture of how the lay-out looked all together, you can see the Kraken on the left. As said, we built this lay-out together with the four of us. We planned it all out on the Lowlug-forum. Here's a picture that shows who build what: My squid wasn't the only moving part in the layout. Thanks for the kind words guys. It doesn't use power functions, actually. The rock hides a 9v batterybox (8x4), the head of the squid hides the 9v motor. Anyway, I was very happy with the movement, it really added a lot for the audience. Not only the kids were amazed, a lot of parents were too, which was kind of cool.

[pid][/pid]228A The Kraken attacks! Hi everybody! Eventought my latest MOC was part of a castle-layout, it includes a ship, which makes it a bit more piratey then castle, so here it is: a ship carrying goods to trade is being attacked by the Kraken. The MOC has moving parts: the main tentacle moves up and down and the ship itself is being crushed by two tentacles, making the front and back of the ship go up in the air. The technic parts took a while to figure out, but are all hidden inside the MOC. There is no motor underneath the table, as some people asked me during LEGO Fanwelt, where this MOC was shown. The batterybox is inside the small black rock and the motor is inside the squids head. I also made a little video to show you the movement. VIDEO! Bye guys, I hope you have the best holidays.

Hi guys! Thanks for the kind words! Glad to hear you like it. After the cover and index and livingroom-page, two more rooms are done! This time, some more pieces to furniture your bathroom and garden: First, the bathroom-collection: red, with some splashes of black and yellow. Some nice cupboards, chandeliers and blowdryers. As said on the Flickr-page: the pouffe really looks like the one I have. The LEGO-version isn't hollow to hide my laundry though. Secondly, the garden! A nice summery picture, with lots of green. B-V-2A to B-V-2D Hi everybody! It's been a while since I showed a new MOC, but finally, my latest MOC is nearly finished! Last year, I made a JALKOW collection, in a sort of homage to John's photostream and his JOHN Collection. I had a big brainwave of furniture, so I decided to present it in the same IKEA-style as he did, but with a more concurrent-twist to it: the JALKOW collection 1. - the concurrent of the JOHN Collection. 'Not expensive, yet not cheap!' This year, I had another brainwave, with lots of chairs and tables, so here it is: the JALKOW collection 2.! I give you another series of furniture, presented in our new catalogue, 2011-2012! The left is the frontpage, the right one is a teasing index. Not all the other pages are done yet, but they will be uploaded in the coming days. I'm still busy building and taking pictures. The pages of the first room are done, so below you'll find page 1 & 2 (lounge and livingroom). I hope you guys like it! Make sure you check the set on Flickr. Look what I found on the internet! It seems to be an Atlantis-exclusive, setnumber 10223. I'm going to search for some more information! EDIT: Ah, I found some more pictures and information: set 10223, The Final Ruins, is the grand-finale for the Atlantis-line. The theme will be ended in style, by going back to the colour scheme of the first wave of sets: limegreen instead of yellow. The set features a big round Atlantish theatre small temple and a statue, and three Atlantis-explorers, with a small vehicle. Okay, time for some pictures: Okay, I guess you all know that this isn't a real set. It's my entry for the D2C-contest! Here's the story: As I don't have any Ninjago or PQ sets, it wasn't hard to pick a theme. Then I wonderd what I missed the most in the Atlantis-line. That wasn't all to hard either: when the rumours of a Atlantis-line started, I really hoped that LEGO would finally release some classic temples, Greek or Roman structures, like the lost city. But no. Instead we mostly got silly red and limegreen submarines, with huge seamonsters. How sad was I? And realizing that the D2C-sets are aimed at AFOL's, who, if you ask me, ALL would love such a theme, the building started! And this is the result. I wanted to give it a real set'y feel to it, not having it look like a MOC. For me the contest is about building a MOC that could be released as a set. So I only used 'legal' buildmethodes and copied the buildingstyle of sets like the Taj Mahal and the Imperial Flagship. I threw in a lot of D2C-ingrediënts, like huge amounts of silly pieces (these in white and these in pearlgold) and a focus on building-pleasure above a lot of playfeatures. I think it turned out quite nice, I think it doesn't look like a MOC at all. I hope you guys like it, please tell me what you think! Keep bricking!

The local skate-ramp! This is my local skate-ramp, complete with kids hanging around, groovy hair, newborn loves and hats flying around. I don't skate, nor do I know if this ramp would be approved by the local authority. It looks a bit scary to me... I wanted to recreate that fast and flying feeling I get when I see people skate, and the hairpiece of the ice-skater (from the collectible minifigs) seemed perfect for that. I love the blond curve, but I hate the knob on top of it, so a put a balancing hat on it to cover it. The ramp was built for a contest over at Lowlug: 'Build me a ramp!' by Workfromtheheart. So I did. And I really liked it! The irregular base and the railings were the best thing to build. I'd love to hear what you think!

Yes, yes, yes! That still is the best castle. I'm not a fan of the big baseplate, though. The 'Fantasy-Era-castle-style' of not having a baseplate would have been better, in my opinion.

I do like the new hairstyle of Snape. It fits the movie-Snape very well. The old piece looked much more like the picture of Snape I made in my mind. Same issue with the new Ron-hair. The old part was more cartoony and I liked that a lot. I'm not really sure if I like his new haircut. I prefer the new Hermoine and Draco-hair above the old one, though.
