  1. Nope I have nothing mixed up, I am not talking hypothetical here I am talking about something I have in front of me working, if you don't want to believe me that's up to you my friend but I am not going to start and argument about it. I made my comment, not to ask if this would work but to tell anyone who was interested that it works, do with that piece of information what you will, end of.
  2. I know this is old thread but I found out today that the 9v black connector will power the 4.5v without any conversion, and as the PF extension lead has both the PF connector and the old 9V connectors on them you can connect up the old 4.5V train engine to the power function IR receiver and battery box without any conversion. I don't think the increase voltage will bother the motor much it's still pretty low, I will be using it with my motor, but don't quote me on this do it at your own risk. Weren't the 4.5V motor reused in the 9V train anyway?
  3. I had Lego as a kid in the very early 70's, and really loved it, my mother tells me it was the only thing that kept me quiet. I got Lego set every Christmas and birthday probably from 1970-75, I then lost interest in it at about 11 years old. Fast forward 30+ years a I saw the RCX set in Tandy's window in the early 00's, an hummed and hared over the price eventually coming to the conclusion it was too much. Periodically the RCX set came into my consciousness and I would look on eBay, fast forward another 15 years, and I finally bought a nice RCX 2.0 set or £40 just before Christmas 2015,I have since then spent another £200 or so on other PF and Technics bits.

    Hi.

Ah I thought it might be something like that, just looking at the countries that have an on-line Lego store and they all seem to be in Europe apart from the US and Korea not even one in Japan, which surprises me, I'd not notice before I'd assumed they had a presence world wide. I guess it's not possible to order from the US store, they are even cheaper than the UK store? Fingers crossed that they open more stores, there seems to be a lot of toy collectors in Chile, as I collect Hot Wheels too and there are a lot of guys from Chile involved in HW, so maybe TLG will consider Chile next.

    Hi.

    Thanks
  6. Just got back into Lego after being mad on it as a kid in the 70's. I bought an old Lego RCX 2.0 set from eBay and it started from there. I joined the forum to ask a specific question that had been baffling me for months. The question is, why does Lego power function stuff sell on the secondary market, IE eBay for 2-3 times more than it can be bought brand new from the Lego store? Anyone any ideas, if you look in the sold items part of eBay the XL motor is selling for upto £14 whereas its only £7.99 new, same for the remotes and the extension leads, I saw them selling for £9.99 on eBay, and they are £3.99 from Lego. Very strange.
