Need a little help fellows. BTW, thanks for your past efforts with LDD Manager. Anyway, I downloaded and installed the new version. However, when I tried to import an LDD model I got an error message - "13 - Type Mismatch" - and the file would not load. Not being an Access expert, I have no idea what to do next to fix it. So I ask for your suggestions.

Thanks for all your comments, here are some additional pictures. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=492063

Ok, now I understand.

Yes I understand that but I would like to know why I can't upload the pictures. It is very strange.

I have beeb trying to upload pictures but keep getting the message that the size is too big. I keep shrinking the size and keep getting the message. The size of the picture on the last try was 180x240. Anyone know what the problem may be?

Thanks for the encouragement. This will eventually become part of my own winter village along with the bakery, toy shop, post office and holiday train.

Just finished building this set. It was fun to build and I always am interested in the new ways that the designers find to put bricks together. It never fails to amaze me that such an interesting building can be made from little bricks. The one question that has been an issue for me is how to keep a light brick lit without having to hold the little red pin down. Hard to get good pictures when there is a hand behind the building making the light go on. Any one out there have a solution for an easy way to keep these light bricks lit?

The light bricks that are included with the holiday sets are really a nice touch to brighten up the buildings. However, my problem with them is that one must keep pressing on the brick to keep it on. I was wondering if anyone out there had come up with an easy way to keep the light on continuously. I have tried several ideas of my own but nothing that I was satisfied with. I have assembled all of my holiday sets together and it would be a nice display to be able to turn on all the lights at once.

Thanks, much appreciated.

I know TLG published instructions on how to motorized the holiday train. Can someone point me to a link that show it?

I am wondering what type of storage people are using for all of the various instructions and catalogs that have been produced over the years. I have put mine in plastic sleeves that go into three ring binders. I am not satisfied with this because the heavy used for the documents tends to pull the sleeves out of shape and the documents then fall out. I like to reference these items for building ideas so I want to have easy access. I think there must be a better solution out there but so far I have not found one I like. What do other addicts do?

Thankyou very much. I already have the transformer, just didn't know where to plug the connectors in. I also may have a device to step down the voltage. Cheers.

Some time ago I acquired some old lights from set 7867. Now I want to make them function on my Lego town/train layout. First question is how do I connect them? Meaning, what do they plug into (transformer, etc)? Next is how do I power them in the US? I have looked for documentation on these subjects but can't find any good source that simplifies this for a guy who doesn't have an EE degree. So I am looking to the Lego train community for some help and guidance.

Thanks for the quick response. I thought that in order for the motor to get power, the track had to be in a complete circle to make a circuit. If all I have to do it connect it up with just the straight track. And, yes, automation is even better. So what are the options? Alan

I want to build a trolley to run down the middle of my town but I don't the the room to make a complete circle with the 9v track. Is there a way to rig this so that I can have a straigt run of track, say three feet long, and have it powered so the trolley can move back and forth on it?

There are many peaked roofs that can be found on Bricklink. You should be able to adapt them to your buildings.

I am building a cirdular stair and rotating the highest step to fit over the next lower step. What I am finding is that I can do it easily with several steps and then with the next step, the program won't allow me to rotate that step. Instead, it tries to rotate the entire world below the composite structure. If I remove the one stud round plate attached to the end of the step that stops the step rotation when it meets the step below, the program will allow it to rotate. And then, to complicate matters, when I go one step higher, it allow me to rotate again. Does anyone know what is happening and is there a way to consistently rotate?

I have also looked at the offers on ebay and there are only a few that seem well done. The ones that have really intersted me are pictures posted here.

I have become a modular addict, collecting all of the Lego sets. I have made a stab at my own designs but I find that building them is just as much fun. Since there are so may of us that have similar intersts, I was wondering if there is a place where I can find designs already made for LDD or where I can purchase the designs. I am amazed at the talent in the community and want to be able to display it in my own city layout.

I had the same situation occur when I opened my LU designed models. Unfortunately, I didn't find a solution, so can you educate me? -
I'm new to LDD but I don't see any options to print a list of the bricks in my model. The only print option is to print the entire model. Am I missing something? Alan

Hello Lego community. Before I get intimately involved in a design, I was wonder if anyone has come up with a way to easily turn on and off the new 1x2x3 light bricks? I set up a winter diarama with the holiday sets but it loses some impact without being able to turn on the light bricks and keep them on. I have used a bracked to keep them on but was wonder if some inventive person out there has an easy way to click them on an off (that is, so they stay on for a while). Alan
