  1. These are really astounding! The addition of printed decals really takes them to the next level, IMO. Keep up the great work!
  2. Hey folks, I originally put this arena together in LDD a few months ago, then decided to order all the parts through Bricklink. It cost me a little over $40 to make (plus the minifigs, which I already had), but I'm happy with how it turned out. Anyway, here's the LIW arena; let me know what you think!
  3. Picked up 8012 Technic Super Battle Droid at a local shop for $15. Parts were still sealed in bags, and the box (very dirty) and instructions were included as well. Unfortunately, one of the 19L Silver hoses that were loose in the box was missing, and it turns out that was the only set it was included in, so I haven't been able to locate a replacement online. (If anyone happens to have one, feel free to PM me!) Oh well, still looks awesome without those hoses, and I think I got a fairly good deal. It was definitely a lot of fun to build.
  4. After realizing that I focused a bit too much on size over accuracy, and that I'd never be able to Bricklink this massive ship, I went back to the drawing board, and came up with this. Unfortunately, I had to remove the bridge, but I think it turned out much better overall. Let me know what you think!
  5. Yeah, I thought of that, but knowing the horrid smell that accompanies a dead mouse, I just don't see it being very plausible. I mean, I suppose it could have dissipated by now, but I can't imagine there being no smell left behind.
  6. EDIT: Skip to post 3 for the completely overhauled version. First off, I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this, and if it is, feel free to move it, mods. Just finished up my fairly massive representation of the Starship Enterprise 1701-D from Star Trek TNG in LDD, complete with a tiny shuttlecraft, and an entirely out of scale, but still extremely small version of the bridge, tucked away in the saucer section. I've always preferred heavily brick-built models (like the early Star Wars sets), so that's the route I went with this. Let me know what you think, thanks!
  7. Oh believe me, it was like Christmas up until that point. I was finding stuff I hadn't seen in years, and I guess towards the very end of my childhood collecting days, I tried to sort out some minifig related pieces, so there were a few things in small ziploc bags that appear to be unscathed. Among them, my favorite minifig from when I was about 11 or 12; Greedo, as well as a few other Star Wars minifigs, some animals, headgear, and weapons/tools. Of course, the vast majority of my minifigs (Star Wars and otherwise) were loose in the tub, but I'm glad I at least put a few things in those ziploc bags back then. Anywho, now that I've cooled down a bit, I think I should definitely at least try to clean these. I really don't see any other options.
  8. I moved into my current house about 3 years ago, and I've been trying to find my childhood Lego collection ever since. Well, I finally found it today in the garage, and saying that I was happy about it would be quite an understatement. It's a 20 gal. Rubbermaid container filled to the brim with bricks, and I found it at the perfect time (just as I was running out of worthwhile pieces for MOC's). So, I took the box off that was sitting on top of it, and immediately noticed that the lid to the lego bin was covered in mouse droppings (I live in rural Indiana with plenty of farms nearby, so mice are just a disgusting fact of life here). I cleaned off the lid, pulled the container out, and started sorting out pieces. After a while, I brought it into the house and continued. After sorting the pieces a bit more, I noticed a mouse dropping fall from one of the pieces. My immediate reaction was obviously utter disgust, but that was shortly followed by OH SHHHHIIIIII -- the implications of that were just horrifying. A mouse was in that container at some point...who knows, several mice might have infiltrated it. I thought to myself, "No, I must not have seen what I thought I did". Then I checked a few more pieces, and sure enough, there was a mouse dropping on another piece. At that point, I was incredibly pissed and incredibly disgusted at the same time (they don't make water hot enough). I hauled the container back out to the garage and that was that. So, the moral of the story? Don't $#&@ing live in rural Indiana. There's no logical reason why anyone should want to. But seriously, any suggestions on what I should do? I can't bring myself to toss that many bricks and minifigs (I'd already found about 50 minifigs just around the top!), but I don't know how I would possibly go about cleaning that ridiculous amount of Legos, and even if I did, I doubt I'd actually want to use them. So, I'm at a loss here; I just have no clue what I should do.
  9. I'm a part of a wide variety of nerdy communities, and it's a bit shocking that this is an issue at all within this community. If you customize (or scratch-build) say, a Transformer or G.I. Joe into something or someone not in official canon, you never get replies like "That's not a Transformer/G.I. Joe/etc!", people just tend to welcome it as an unofficial addition to the mythos, and fan-fiction is often applauded and even heralded as better than some official material. Think of it this way: do you really think the official canon material could ever show all the vehicles and characters, and tell all the tales of EVERYTHING that's ever gone on within the SW universe, or other fictional universes? Of course not, so let the fans attempt to do some of that. Obviously it will never be official, but is that such a big deal? Can't creations and works of fiction just be enjoyed for what they are without constantly telling yourself "This never really happened/this never really existed in that universe/etc."?
  10. Hey folks, I'm back to Lego after a bit of a break. The other day, I decided to try to build 7127 - AT-ST since I figured I'd probably have the pieces to build it. But, after only a few minutes I realized 1. it was going to take too long to find the pieces and 2. that set really does look like crap. So, I went about building my own AT-ST, and I think it turned out pretty well. Please note, I didn't make this to try to improve on previous AT-ST's from Lego, I just wanted one of my own without paying ridiculous eBay prices. So, let me know what you think, thanks! (Sorry about the poor quality pics.)
  11. Hello all, decided to try my hand at transforming Lego robots last night, and I've come up with these two: Gobots Leader-1 and Cy-Kill. Let me know what you think, thanks!
  12. I agree about the TARDIS, believe me I would have liked to do more with it, however my supply of dark blue is incredibly limited (seriously, I used almost every piece I have on that TARDIS). As for the cheese slope, giving him a hat was the best way I could portray the first Doctor, seeing as I have no white medium length hair. Here's what I was going for: Oh, and in case anyone's unfarmiliar, here's the "combined vig scene" I was attempting portray:
  13. I just recently started watching Dr. Who, and I'm loving it. Since the action figures are kinda pricey through eBay, I decided to make some of my own. Here are two Vignettes, the Doctor emerging from the TARDIS, and a caveman in The Cave of Skulls: The two sets combine to create the ending scene from the very first episode of Dr. Who: I also made Ian Chesterton and Dalek minifigs: One final shot of all the mifigs together: Let me know what you think, thanks for looking.
  14. Actually, after posting that, I remembered I had a DV helmet. I wasn't think that, since I was taking the picture from the back, it wouldn't matter if I had the whole figure. Oh well.
