Welcome to EB! I hope some creativity will help out at your desk job, and I do agree, some of the Pharaoh's Quest sets are pretty cool. Hope you enjoy it here!

I mean, yes, it is a bit geeky, but so is anything else, isn't it? We can have "sports geeks" and "fitness geeks", "car geeks" and "Lego geeks", and all sorts of things. Yes, some interests are less respected than others, but it's what you like, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Honestly, I have my fair share of nerdy interests, including Lego, and those who do share some of those interests come from all walks of life, and it's really cool to know those people, because there's always such variety that brings people together, and also expose you to totally new things.

Could he use a red tile possibly with a joint piece, similar to the door used in in the Creator set 6743? It looks small enough that it could work. Love the design so far, I'm going to go with the crowd, the back is the best part so far!

Welcome to Eurobricks! Wow, 5 VWs? Impressive, I think you do deserve the Lego Beetle! (gotta say, I was impressed by that one, bummed I missed it when it was more available)

Thanks! My goal is to start breaking off from the pre-fabricated sets and do some custom stuff this year. Thank you! Yeah...that is the problem, isn't it? I've been kind of scouring the family house while I'm visiting to find the Lego bricks my family had, since they're just all boxed up.

Funny enough, I was cleaning out the house looking for Lego bricks earlier today, and stumbled upon my brother's Fall 2005 Lego catalog, and saw the listing for the 10152 Maersk Sealand and thinking "Man, that looks so cool!", and then finding out they re-released it was amazing. Sad to say, I agree, I am not sure if I can justify $120 (and yeah, the orignal was $75 according to the 2005 catalog), but it'd be cool display, and the light blue pieces could be useful.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Shieldwolf replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego Store in Birmimgham, AL. I have yet to see any Target (or any other store, for that matter) sell these. -
Haha, it's understandable. It'd be fun to have a more solid ship, but the empty space gives it this nice minimalist vibe to it.

Unfortunately not much, since I didn't send out the wish list fast enough... Got the Rebel Trooper and Clone Walker battle packs from one friend, which I appreciated (She knows I like minifigs, haha). Hmm...does buying myself the Winter Toy Shop and the Winter Bakery for myself count? XD

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Shieldwolf replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I stumbled upon Series 3 at the Lego store last Saturday, and was surprised since I didn't think they would come out till at least Sunday there. So base don the knowledge that 1.) I had no idea if those boxes would be there tomorrow (surprisingly, there were 4 rather full boxes), 2.) I didn't have much money, and 3.) I forgot to look at the chart... >_> So I bought 5, and tried to check the dots to least get different ones (still got two rapper/DJs, but the pants and boombox is useful). Also got the sumo wrestler, the tennis player, and the mummy. Overall, a fairly good lot, though I wish I could have gotten the elf, fisherman, or the baseball player...oh well, next time. -
Apparently so! Well welcome to you, I hope you enjoy yourself here!

Welcome to a fellow new member! I understand your love, I always seemed to check it without fail each day before I joined. :P

Thank you! Well, when I have something to show, I will! Right now it's kind of like in Photoshop where you just kind of goof around in it. I discovered the Lego Universe mode a few months ago and was wowed by the rang of bricks! So all I've been doing is studying other people's MOCs and trying to learn the building teachniques (rock structures always impress me, for some reason).

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Shieldwolf replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm fairly open about my hobby, but I also don't shout it out to the world either. My direct family knows and close friends know very well, since they are the people who will actually listen to me geek out about it. ;) They go so far as to buying me sets for my birthday/Christmas, which is nice, and will encourage me to pick sets that I'm on the fence about. Honestly, it's great to know someone else likes to talk about it, and even go so far as to actually beg to help build sets! As far as other people are concerned, I've mentioned it, and people ask a few things, but I don't say too much and keep to myself unless they are a closer friend. I can't say I've gotten any negative looks here, that's for sure. :) My favorite moment is when I was doing some super macro shots with my camera on some minifigs I had set up on my campus, and people would just walk by and give me that "that's so awesome!" nod, and smile. That made me happy. -
Hello everyone! Been a lurker here for the past few months, first time poster, and I have really enjoyed this site! I am from the United States, am 21 years old, and besides from my re-emerging interest in Lego a year ago (after a 10 year dark age), I have other artistic hobbies (such as drawing, painting, and photography (even photographing minifigs!)) I have a rather humble collection at the moment, but I hope to start building up enough of a collection to start on my own MOCs (just goofing around in LDD for now). I rather enjoy the Creator, Racers, and City lines, hoping to expand out a bit more as time passes. It's nice to meet you all!
