Isnt that the truth!? Lol I mean i will have a tiny establishment of riders from the uruk-hai army.... But thats about it. I truly do hope we get battle packs for this line. I do not plan to army build this line like I did starwars which was seperation based on type; i.e. clones, droids, geonosians, ect. I think ill just do bad and good lol. Whats sad is unless there are battle packs, I do not see a lot of people having massive armies like they do with star wars. :( That makes me sad. Lol

Yeah. I am already budgeting to spend close to a thousand on it by the end of summer x.x My main focus with be the uruk-hai army mainly. Ten sets there and possibly four or five of the orc forge.

I will be dropping star wars and other sets this summer specifically to collect LOTR. I love all of these sets and do plan to buy multiples to start army building!

Based solely on stuff that has been released, I am quite disappointed in the Marvel aspect of the Super Hero's line. I believe they could have done so much more (and granted may well still do so much more). I know that they are holding back "some stuff" from us due to apparent "spoilers", but still... the sets overall seem underwhelming. It gave me a feel that they put more effort into the revamp bats line than they did the avengers.

Lexuthor Jokers goon Two face goon with glasses Two face goon without glasses Poison ivy Bane Catwoman Bue batman Superman Wonderwoman Bruce wayne Black batman Robin Joker Two face Harley quinn Riddler Security guard On another note, I would love two different Loki's though I do see the possibility of duplicates of any 'Main' guys being extremelly small. Perhaps tossing in a couple "generic" movie bad guys some place is the route Lego will take.
-
Didn't the DC sets have 18 figures, not 17 with two different Two Face Goons (or two different batmans depending on perception of duplicates)? So is there a good chance you think we will get two different versions of one or two of the figures from the Marvel lines?
-
Really stupid question and I apologize if it has already been asked or not revealed yet but does anyone know/suspect if any of these sets will be store exclusive?
-
I bought two of these sets. I want a third that way Harley Quinn, Cat Woman, and Poison Ivy all have a cycle to ride in the Bad Girls Gang >> << >< I absolutely love this set though I think what I like most is the two newspapers you get in it.

Same with Dare-Devil, which they are trying to reboot and keep from losing the rights. Apparently Fox is close to losing those rights until they pen the script which is what they are doing right now. This is what i could find on what fox owns: FROM 20th Century Fox Daredevil: Daredevil/Matt Murdock, Elektra (Natchios), The Kingpin/Wilson Fisk, Bullseye, Jack Murdock, Karen Page, Ben Urich Elektra: Christine Cord/Tatoo, Typhoid Mary/Marry Alice Walker, Kirigi, Stick, Stone Fantastic Four: Doctor Doom/Victor von Doom, Human Torch/Johnny Storm, Invisible Woman/Susan Storm, Mr. Fantastic/Dr. Reed Richards, The Thing/Ben Grimm, Nova/Frankie Raye, Alicia Masters, Willie Lumpkin X-Men Mutants: [Agent Zero/Maverick/David North], Angel/Warren Worthington III, Arclight/Phillippa Sontag, Beast/Dr. Henry Phillip “Hank” McCoy, [blob/Frederick J. What's the best way to store minfigures?
SBrown replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do have a question. What is the background made of in the kidea frame. I bought one today here in maryland, however, its not solid white. Is it a card stock, poster board, or something else? I must know that way when i try this, the background doesnt bend inwards from the weight of the minifigs, blocks, and glue when inside the frame. -
With this, i guess i will hold off on buying a sirius black from bricklink. I want to see if this one gets made so that i can have him instead of old rags from the past lol.

Great detail on Sirius!

I got fed up with the speculation across the web so I emailed Lego Customer Service and got this response: So it looks like they are being extremely tight lipped about this. If I read this correctly; as of RIGHT NOW there is no official cancellation but it seems even Lego is uncertain if they will continue to make them or not (which could be good or bad for us die-hard HP LEGO fans). So perhaps, if they do, just one more small wave and that be it at best. Edit: and Yes, I see how my mission to end speculation failed miserably with even more speculation lol

The issue isnt if the cars brand is a seller. It is. The problem is what are people more likely to buy? A three to four dollar metal diecast of a cars character or a seven dollar miniset of one cars charact like lightening mcqueen. Coming from a parental standpoint, I dont waste my money on the lego cars only because the diecast are a better deal, look nicer and my son doesnt loose pieces. I want to see the sales figures of the lego brand cars theme compared to the die cast metal cars theme.

Drop Sheamus and/or Shacklebolt, throw in a Harry Potter and your set seems plausible. I dont think they would leave out a chance to give us ANOTHER potter >.>

Lego is a business, let us be honest and there could be variables as to why they have not released word on prospective future sets. A couple thoughts would be the idea they are holding back until the release of the second game, more like a surprise to fans while another reason couldbe that warner brothers is still reviewing the sets for approval. I just so not see Lego abandonning a cash cow like harry potter, especially when they have a brand new video game coming out which is following a highly successful film from summer. I could be reaching for twigs here but I just cannot understand the business model of Lego if they are, in fact, abandoning the Harry Potter line.
-
I am not into marvel or dc much. I dont read comics but i do have to say ill be buying all the sets for no other reason than the figures. The minifigs look great but i am most looking forward to batman and iron man.
-
2011 has been a fantastic year for this brand. However, i feel lego will release more sets round the time of the second hp game or soon thereafter. I could see rereleases coming back out from prior years. As of right now i feel 2010 was the superior of the two years for this brand given the amount of figures and sets. I wish lego would give us a headsup as to hat is coming up next.

New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
SBrown replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
It sucks that they waites to release this now as a promo with this set. I mean this set has been out for eight months now ans they just NOW release a harry potter promo for it. -
I have this and the 2010 Hogwarts and the more I look at it the more i am sort of disappointed we do not have key classrooms, i.e. Def. Aga. Dark. Arts or postions. Granted they would be small but i would love having thse two classrooms and after two releases of the hogwarts, i dont think they will put out another. Other than that, i agree with the above poster. Lucius works great as a generic death eater and the dementkr is perfect in groups. I also agree, without the 2010 hogwarts, it looks dull and unappleaing on its own I wish they included a key classroom though.

New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
SBrown replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
They are actually giving the mini hogwarts express as a bonus for buying the set in august. I got mine yesterday when I re-purchases this set. Cute little train but I am not opening the darnn bag. -
I went ahead and bought another diagon alley. I'm keeping this one sealed in the box. Even though she has forbidden wb from doing anything and even though she said she would not succumb to pressure to write for the sake of money, I still expect tons of pressure to hit her, especially given the amount of mne this last film has made. I think she sill stick to her guns but I feel sorry for her because ethat pressure is coming if it has not already. Personally, I would love voldermort prequels, no sequels, but I would also love a definitive dictionary that lists all the spells, potions, ect. That would be fun! Lego has done wonders with these new sets. I missed out on the first round. I still think we have more sets due out, and they still had many characters they could make and release or even rerelease from past sets. I would love a new leftovers or Sirius, but we will need to just wait and see. I have seen nothing from Lego stating this set was going to endso my fingers remained crossed it will continue for a couple more years.

WarnerBrothers would not have the best interests of the franchise at heart if they reboot this series within the next two to three decades. The problem is, this series has become a classic (and forgive this analogy but I must use it) much like the Planet of the Apes. Sure it had butt loads of sequels but it did not have a true reboot until recent years, decades AFTER the original versions. I do not see Warner Brothers rebooting this within the next ten to twenty years. As far as sequels and prequels go; I believe they would be apprehensive to jump the gun on any possibilities; especially given the hugely loyal fanbase that JK Rawling has. If they do anything to upset that woman, WB will loose millions of fans who will allign with JK in any public squabbling over the HP Franchise. I believe WB would and probably will start putting pressure on JK for prequels about the first wizarding war (i.e. rise of voldemort, ect ect) and this would give Lego the perfect opportunity to prolong this theme. I just, again, do not see a reboot coming up. And to edit: I'm buying a second Diagon Alley today for the minifigs and buildings. My son lost some of the pieces and I'm a completist. So I took apart the other set and just rebuying it this afternoon.
-
I have a workplace set up on my desk of the Diagon Alley Lego set with custom figures. The issue is that some of the figures are flesh colored (the potter set figs) and some are customs (yellow skinned). Does it look right to mix yellow skinned minifigs with flesh colored? Do you do it?

I saw Nagini and lol'd. Pretty weak on Lego's part, imo. The snake is suppose to be incredibly large for a serpent when compared to the human body but they simply used the small green snake I got out of pharaohs. If anyone tries to count that as a minifig like people tried to do Mrs. Norris in the Castle, they need to have cold water splashed in their faces. The sets overall look good. I will be getting two BFH and several Forbidden forests. I only need one Knight Bus obviously. Still, I can't help but chuckle at "Nagini"
