So - basically I need to copy the EN gearing mechanism etc - do you or anyone else know of someone who has done this already? Right - I think you maybe right. So - where can I get the new 9V PF Motor without buying complete Passenger train? Thanks, Bill

Hi, hello this is my first post after just joining EB. My apologies if this has been covered before but I can't see a previous posting... As a family we've just received TS3, HP Hogwarts Express and the Emerald Night (EN) Lego railway sets for Christmas. I also have multiple PF/IR accessories - 3x#8882 Power Functions XL Motor, 2x#8878 Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box, #8887 Transformer 10v DC adapter, 2x#8884 Power Functions IR Receiver, 2x#8870 Power Functions LED Lights, 2x#8879 Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control and #8885 Power Functions IR Remote Control + battery box and 'old' non PWM Power Functions IR Receiver. Obviously i can use the PF set to motorize the Emerald Night - which I will do in the next day or so. However what I really need advice is how to motorize the Hogwarts Express and the TS3 sets USING PF XL MOTOR - not using traditional #8866 9V RC motor (available from S@H) The reasoning here is that i have the XL #8882 motors already and also its hard to get hold of the new more efficient '#8866 like' 9v PF Train Motor without buying the #7938 Passenger train. Plus I'd like to use a similar wheel and piston setup as the Emerald Night on the TS3 and HP Hogwarts Express. I know the wheels are small on the HP hogwarts express so I also bought an extra TS3 set for the parts (it was half price) - so I have another set of the large steam locomotive wheels. Please can anyone advise how to go about motorizing these two sets with the PF XL motor ? (or tell me I'm barking mad and should wait for the #8866 'new' 9V PF Motor Thanks, Bill
