  1. All I can say is: Yes! And maybe an alien commander with a similar "Brain in Jar" head who can be in constant telepathic contact with the robot while they whipe out us puny humans.
  2. I think if you check most topics conserning new themes or waves you'll find a substantial amount of posts complaining about Lego being "overpriced" (a completely misunderstood term by the way). Even the first blurry pic of a new set is generally quickly followed by random speculations conserning the price (or presumed "overprice"). However, I want to clarify my position: I have no problem at all with people finding Lego expensive, because it is. Also, I have no problem with people stating that opinion in forum posts. And I understand that people have to watch how much they spend. I have to do that too. My problem is strictly egotistical. I want to be inspired by a forum and get a sense of fun. Not read stacks of posts about money. I sincerely apologise if I came across as rude. That was definately not my intention. I was not trying to be condescending either. If anyone was offended i suggest that you ignore the post completely. I guess that the complaining just got to me that's all. I just feel that since this is a forum for adults everybody should be aware that you can't buy everything you want, and that it's not necessarily Lego's fault.
  3. Sometimes I feel that there are more posts about prices on this forum than about fun. That makes me sad. Personally I find the NinjaGo theme extremely innovative and funny. Every time I build one of these sets it makes me smile. I think that is one of the reasons why they are selling like crazy, at least in my country. Another reason is probably the game and the spinners. You guys that dislike the prices are of course free to express that opinion wherever and whenever you like. But I have to wonder: isn't it better if you found another hobby? One that makes you happy. I for one wouldn't want to look first at the price tag and second at the actual item I want to buy. And then run to an Internet forum and complain about it. Finally regarding the prices: you don't have to state that you think they are high in every post. Anyone browsing these pages will get the general idea in just a couple of minutes. There are posts about "overpriced" and "I won't be getting..." on almost every page. (Well, I said almost...)
  4. Ah, he's blue? My bad. And you're right, I'll be better of making my own MiB. Don't get me going about typography and basic layout in relation to readability though. You might be forced to read and interpret one or two poems but I have to live through Internet and forums on a daily basis. Man, you guys would flunk typo 1.0. Bad. But never mind that, this theme will be awesome and one of the best things about it in my opinion is the oportunities for adaptations. With just a few sets (and some spare figs and pieces) you can create scenes from a lot of great movies. Lego has really succeeded here if you ask me and I really hope for more waves in the future. Then maybe I'll get my MiB, and the more rare but equally excellent WiB...
  5. I was pretty vague there I guess. Sorry about that. I'm referring to the guy in the black suit running past the tripod. He's also visible in the youtube clip on the round thing with all the figs. Not a MiB per se (they would of course never run away like that) but he can easily play the part. Unless I'm totally mistaken. On a side note: of course I'm not referring to the human faction in general. Men in Blue???? Those guys are canon fodder for the mind eating alien slugs. Nothing more.
  6. Sorry, but I have to vent some excess positive vibes. Just skip this post if you're tired of overly optimistic raves. This theme is great. And it just keeps getting better. Now there is even a MiB involved and some gullible civilians. I'm gonna have to get every last set. I've even warmed up a little to the human "soldiers" (i.e. canon fodder ripe for mind control). That's mainly because of the autopsy thingy in the truck. I'm gonna have to MOD that one into a secret underground lab of course, but that's a given I guess. My poor son is going to have to learn about every sci-fi movie ever made this summer. I just haven't decided on whether he can touch the actual sets. Or not. (Leaning towards "Or not" at the moment, naturally.) End of childishly positive post.
  7. You might be right, but then again I don't think this is even close to the finished box art. In any case, the box art is of course secondary (at least to me) and the minis and figs are probably a good representation of what the calendar will actually contain. Bad for some, great for others I guess. True. And slightly dissapointing. But they still have a couple of months to rectify that. Let's hope the calendar at least contains something vaguely unique.
  8. Hey, don't give up on that calendar yet. I too was hoping for more environments than minis and some minifigs that were useful in the more recent sets. However, you don't always get what you want and the kids will probably love it. But don't forget: the pic just hints at half of the content and it is only a prelim. Cherish the clone and cross your fingers... By the way, I would have bet heavily on the exclusive fig being a red Vader so Santa Yoda is a surprise. At least for me.
  9. I think he refers to this section, note the word not, that might point to the picture of the train: "From time to time we received images of new sets that are not marked as 'confidential', which we post. Sometimes we are subsequently asked to remove them by LEGO." And I can certainly understan where TLG is coming from. One of the things I am most surprised about on this forum is the incredible amount of negativity when a preliminary picture shows up. Especially on the Star Wars front. It constantly amazes me how some people fall over each other trying to bash something that is clearly not a finished product.
  10. I know what you mean. My 4 year old just needs to see the green heads (like in the series 3 alien minifig) and he'll be hooked. Luckily he turns five just about when these sets hit the stores. Good to know what I'll be doing on those long warm summer nights...
  11. The calendar is really interesting. I am not 100 percent sure on my facts (I only watched the calendars being opened in the morning) but I think that the minis from the City calendar was supposed to be christmas gifts for the lego family kids and therefore they do not necessarily apply to the SW calendar. On the other hand the Castle one is more relevant (I think). In that one you got smaller parts that could be combined to form a slightly larger scene, like a very small kitchen. A Stap, bigger gun and maybe some rock cover could be something similar for SW. I'm sure someone can think of better examples. I also think the Castle calendar had nine figs and that five of them where "unique" a prince, a queen, a wizard and two civilians if I'm not mistaken, so there is hope for figs. Since I like to build stories with my kid I would love to have som follow-ups to this years BP:s. Like Pre Vizsla or Captain Lock. They are not to difficult/expensive to adapt but would add great value, in my humble opinion of course. Sorry for the long post but I really think this calendar will be great, if it is made. I hope it will bring some nice additions to Lego SW and I don't care too much if it's CW, OT, PT or whatever as long as it fits nicely with the existing themes.
  12. Thanks for the quick review! And I have to agree with some of the previous comments: This one is all about the fig. Great to see such a nice astronaut in a small set.
  13. Thanks for the review. I just got this set today and I must say it's a really sweet little set. You get a good feel for the theme for a comparatively small amount of money. A ninja, a skellie, a unique weapon (I think?) and two small builds. I don't say that you have to love the theme, just that the set is very well put together in my opinion.
  14. Thanks for the review. Will definately get this set.
  15. Thanks for the review! This is one set I'm definately going to get. Especially considering my 4 year old kid loves dragons at the moment. But the set itself is great and I would have gotten one anyway. Maybe two then...
  16. Hey, fred67. I'm just gonna state the obvious here (like you did a few posts earlier), if you dislike the prices - don't buy. Surely lots of consumers will be happy to buy the figs instead of you. And yes, I am getting slightly tired of the "overprized" argument being thrown around everywhere. And no, to continue along the obvious lines: I don't read the posts, it's just plain boring to scroll.
  17. I'm loving this theme. Really. It is kind of Lego heaven for me personally. I just want to clarify why I'm not that impressed with the human faction. It has nothing to do with the blue color. Neither do I really mind that our boys in blue wear breathers on earth. The evil aliens might have released a weird poison for all I care. My problem is that I don't want uniform soldiers at all. I want MiB, confused politicians, mad scientists, brave pilots, cunning civilians and plain old cannon fodder. Anything from the genre would be perfect. Except possibly the smart-and-world-saving-kids. Despite that little rant I will surely buy every single set in this theme. Except possibly the human command truck or whatever. I will have to build my own little bunker with war room, lab, countdown clock, the works. Sorry for the long post but I can't help it. This theme is excellent. Blue or no blue.
  18. Thanks for a very comprehensive review. Now I'm really looking forward to these guys hitting the shelves in Sweden. My favourites are the pilot, the fisherman and the snowboard chick. But most of them are above my initial expectations.
  19. OK, seriously. For me this could actually be Lego heaven. I realise that I am slightly (he he) older than the primary target group but: Hello! Using these sets I can probably recreate hundreds of scenes from my favourite movies. UFO:s, tripod, slugs, abductions... The only thing I feel less extatic about are the humans. However, the collectable minifigs can easily pose as gullible victims. Fingers crossed for a domed (?) marsian...
  20. Thanks for the pics. The bank is simply a must buy for me. A nicely designed small building with sweet details. Throw in a bike and an armoured truck and I'm sold. The car chase not so much. It's an ok set but the female cop is the only really unique thing about it for me and with so many other great sets coming I think I'll pass. Another color on the car would probably have sold it for me. Red is already the most common car color in our little city. Not counting the Police of course. Can't have too many of those. Just ask my kid.
  21. Aw, crap. I was hoping to be able to skip one or two of the new sets. But looking at the pictures I realize that was a vain and stupid thought. These set look fantastic! And they are not terribly pricey either. I for one am very happy with all of them and will have to beg my budget for forgiveness when I crush it completely. Thanks Lego for a great Star Wars wave.
  22. Wow! That's a great one. Really well thought out and realized. Thanks for sharing. Edit: Spelling (as usual).
  23. Congratulations to the winners! And great work everyone.
  24. Spectacular! Congratulations on a fantastic build. What an effort. I'm certainly hoping for that moonbase. Would be great to see another one of your builds. Best of luck!
  25. Difficult questions since these are all great figs. And I think the addition of collectible minifigs is one of the best ideas the good people at Lego has ever had. Simply because they add great possibilities with their variety, both in design and parts variation. Especially if you want to try MOC-ing (is that the word to use?) for the first time in your fledgling lego life. However, the Biohazard guy just tops the mad scientist on my list, closely followed by the surfer and the skater. And the geisha of course. I mean, a lego geisha. Who can resist that one? Honorable mention to every other fig in the series.
