  1. So true. That is why tortoises only travel slowly. Their shell is aerofoil-shaped and given enough forward speed they would develop lift.
  2. I like your enthusiasm.....BUT, having been involved with aviation for many many years i'll add this. The chances of you making a scale airbus is high, the chance of getting it to fly is zero. People have made lego cars that can carry a person, i'm sure a boat would be possible too but LEGO just isn't cut out to make something that will fly. I'm thinking of scaling this up, i've been told it will allow me to travel forward in time and see if my predictions are right
  3. Thanks all. Not sure where to post this but... Tonight on UK Channel 4 at 8pm. (15minutes times) The Secret World of LEGO. A 1hour documentary all about our favourite bricks. Craig, even without vouchers they often have some great deals online. :-)
  4. After many unsuccessful attempts to join Eurobricks I am finally here. whey hey :-) I have been a fan of LEGO since childhood and made sure my kids had it too. I have a substantial collection of Star Wars models (my son's old ones) and have branched out into the larger Technic Figure sets (8010 and 10186 are still on my wants list) and then onto non-SW Technic vehicles . Most recent purchase being the 42039 Race Car. Where I work, the graphic designer is a dab hand at building MOCs and we have worked together to build some great models (Hubble Space Telescope, Voyager Space Probe, the original H G Well's Time Machine to name but a few). When I can I shall get some pictures up for you. One thing I want to say, and was my initial reason trying to join last year when I discovered this site searching for information on 42009. I managed to pick one of these up EXTREMELY cheaply from TESCO of all places. They have started to include LEGO in the range of products that you can use your accumulated vouchers on and at a 2 for 1 rate: £5 in vouchers gets you £10 in goods. Whilst most sellers at that time had the crane at £149, TESCO had it at £112 and so I picked mine up for £56 of vouchers. I thought it worth sharing that snippet (and no, I don't work for TESCO; fireworks are the means I use to earn LEGO tokens :-) ) Cheers for now Steve
