  1. That Red Baron set looks pretty cool. I wouldn't mind the Spitfire or Tiger Tank or one of those classic vehicles to be made into sets. I also understand not wanting weapons of destruction to be a part of a child's toy, however... Technic is not for thumb-sucking kids, and current Lego themes pirates, Pharoah, Ninja... etc feature weapons and cannons and stuff. So yeah... I'm just coming from a direction that Technic could use more variety in the types and categories of vehicles that they build.
  2. Why don't they ever come up with a Technic M1A1 Abrams Tank or some serious military hardware? I mean we see the tractors and bulldozers and trucks and cars. Time for some serious firepower ;)
  3. If they made the BLack Pearl a UCS... I might find it difficult not to jump into pirates theme too
  4. I noticed a distinct lack of new sets for the original trilogy... why is that? Some shift in focus for TLG?
  5. Bought myself : 2x 8087 - TIE Defenderâ„¢
  6. "Your training is complete. Indeed you are powerful, as the emperor has foreseen." Just a group shot of the UCS 10212 Minifigs.
  7. TLG keeps coming back to the same design. There's too many (similar) AT-ATs floating around already. When are they gonna come out with a true minifig scale UCS AT-AT that would knock the socks off everything else that's been released.
  8. finished Imperial Shuttle 10212, getting a custom-made glass case to put it on display.

  9. Quick question if you don't mind... I'm curious as to where MOC-ers get those ridiculously large quantities of bricks from? Direct from TLG? Can we actually buy a specific block in packs of say 100 or 1000 for a much cheaper price? I'm thinking piece by piece purchase from bricklink is gonna be either really expensive or really tedious. For Legoland you guys get truckloads of bricks for free I guess.
  10. In an afterthought, I'd change mine to : Executor UCS Nebulon B Frigate UCS The potential block count and detail off these two ships are enough to make me drool!
  11. Welcome Mishael! Castle is fun! I wish I had all the $$$ to buy castle, city, SW, Pirates...
  12. I think a UCS Nebulon B Frigate would be really awesome. Lots of detail involved compared to a MC-80 which might be a tad boring.
  13. Is the Grand Carousel 10196 a great set to get? My wife is attracted to it, plus I am not sure when it would be discontinued. Thanks!
  14. I never ever buy Lego locally. It's too cost prohibitive for joe-salaryman, esp when Lego.com shows you what peeps are paying for in the States. As for the skepticism, it's not only directed to the park, but towards "mega" projects here in general. As mentioned earlier, there's a lot of "feel-good" "morale-boosting" projects, or projects that overshoot their budget by multiple times, or cancelled projects, or white elephants.... all norms in a developing economy (with no accountability). Leaving in a month for good or just for a vacation?
  15. Welcome welcome fellow friend!
  16. Hell yeah... that would be my ideal as well. Definitely not gonna be in minifig scale though. I would like the Tantive IV in minifig scale, but that's prolly gonna be too large. Basically I'm all for anything that's in accurate minifig scale.... 7000, 10000 pieces... bring it on!
  17. Thanks guys for the welcome. @White Fang - I'm into SW UCS sets @KielDaMan - I'm in Selangor. But that's just a 4 hour drive from JB. Not too far.
  18. Always been a Star Wars fan especially the ships and vehicles, Rogue Squaron and Star Destroyers. Played with Lego when young and had a great, creative time. Merge Star Wars and Lego together and it's a recipe for disaster for my wallet. Held off temptation until I saw the UCS Star Destroyer. Then the Falcon. Then the Imperial Shuttle. Waiting for cavegod's actual scale AT-AT to hit the stores, or maybe a full scaled MC-80 Hangar, or a Star Destroyer Bridge.... ;p
  19. Hi there! Thanks for replying.. I'm actually quite surprised to hear that piece of news from you on the Legoland Park in Johor. Thought that was a fictional morale-boosting plan like most things are here. ;p Have fun in Malaysia... the only one thing I can recommend is the food... and durians ;p
  20. Hey there peeps, just checking in from Malaysia. New to the forums, not quite new to Lego. Played it when I was a kid, and recently taking it up again with the UCS Star Wars sets. I'm a sucker for realistic scaled models and got myself the UCS Falcon, Star Destroyer and most recently completed the Imperial Shuttle. Been looking at the MOC (what does MOC stand for?) sets and special themed builds and really really impressed by what you guys can do. Lego's extremely expensive over at this part of the world, and loose part purchases in the stores are unheard of. Cheers all!
