Pics of the Agents Line
Nonpoint Fan replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks. They all look much better compared to the preliminary pics. The 007-ish car has to be my favorite of the lot. I can also see the Mutt Williams hairpiece in two new colours - dark orange and black, but what surprises me the most is the female hairpiece. I wouldn't have thought Lego would construct a new ponytail piece (especially one so long) for a secondary line like this rather than just reuse the much more versatile existing one. I'm wondering if it's going to show up in one of the liscenced lines, perhaps a new Padme figure in the remaining Clone Wars sets? -
There was a battle droid commander in one of the Jedi Defense sets back in 2002, only back then it had a more movie accurate paint job as opposed to the solid yellow piece the current one uses. The older security and pilot battle droids were printed also:

Is the roof of the truck made of paper/cardboard or does it use the same material as the tents and minifigure capes? -
She probally just has a pair of dark blue legs, but I'd really like to see at least one site get a shot up Asajj's skirt.

The spiral staircase looks like it has a rotating feature to mimic the scene from the trailer with the steps comming out of the wall. Here's another link to some more pics: http://tf08.figures.com/showgallery.php?cat=563 -
More links: http://photos.sirstevesguide.com/showgallery.php?cat=5536 http://tf08.figures.com/showgallery.php?cat=563 The first has plenty of new pics including some interior shots of the AT-TE and Gunship.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be Nepal Marion:

I'm mixed on the new clones. On one hand I like that the helmets can now have accessories added to them, but on the other hand there is a higher chance of botched paint jobs now that the visors are printed on. I'm also a bit warey that the helmets and Ahsoka's headtails will be the same rubbery molds as Kit Fisto's head was and not proper plastic. I hate the anime look of the human minifigures (remind me too much of those horrible NBA minifigures a while back) but Ahsoka and Asajj look amazing. The Magna Droids are decent, but the mecha arms are too big for them. Lego has opened up a load of possibilities now that they've released leg accessories as before you could only add things to the neck joint. I can see plenty of upgrades in the near future for figures like ANH Princess Leia and the Snowtroopers. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the slope piece gowns the women wear in the castle theme go the way of the dodo and Asajj's soft goods dress replaced them, much like the cloth capes did in the 90s. The only concern I have ATM is the cost of all these new molds - not just in Star Wars but other themes like Indiana Jones, Agents, Castle and Mars Mission. There are a lot of them this year and it would suck big time if the company got into financial trouble again like they did a few years back. The AT-TE looks like a big improvement over the old one. The Gunship looks slightly more detailed, but I'm worried all those plates might make it too flimsey. The speeder bike is a MASSIVE improvement and may even be a definitive design. The STAP is a mix bag. The body looks more accurate but the wings/flag things that the pilot's feet go on are far too wide. I won't comment on the others as I haven't anything to compare them with.

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009)
Nonpoint Fan replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Stick to a starship. A Geonosian Arena might sound nice on paper but would the ammount of money really be worth spending on a few baseplates with four pillars and a cheap wall? We could always get a more detailed Hoth Base, Mos Eisley Cantina or Jabba's Palace, but isn't part of the joy of Lego being able to MOC them into what we want? The best Star Wars sets Lego has ever produced has been ships and vehicles. Even the non-UCS ones have managed to be amazingly detailed for their size. They should maximize their potential and focus on them. My top preferences would be: Rebel Blockade Runner With Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Captain Antilles, C-3PO, R2-D2, about three rebels and four stormtroopers. Queen Amidala's Royal Starship With Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, Padme/Handmaiden (could always use a double sided head to play both roles) Captain Panaka, Jar-Jar Binks, Ric Olie/Generic Pilot, R2-D2, one or two more astromech droids and possibely a guard or Anakin on top. Rebel Medical Frigate With Admiral Ackbar, Mon Mothma, 2-1B, Nien Numb, General Madine and either some rebel troops, the usual heroes (Luke, Leia, Han etc.) or a mix of both. I don't see Lego giving us more than 12 minifigures, even if it is a special occassion set. -

The Chainsaw dude looks mighty cool, but the rest look like Alpha Team rejects. The new hairpieces are worth picking up on Bricklink. The female one looks like a new ponytail mold with some loose hair on the right side, and a larger braid going across her forehead and hanging off the left side. Bit hard to tell how long it is at the back. The hero agent who's available in most sets looks to have the same black hairpiece as one of the new characters in the Indy 4 sets.
