  1. To me, less complexity generally means a better design. I believe in the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep it simple, stupid!). It could be that the decrease in complexity is a good thing? I just started building Technic sets, but I've built 5 of the big ones so far (42000, 42008, 42029. 42030, 9398). I've learned something new from each set and am excited to see what comes next!
  2. This is amazing. I would buy this set in a heartbeat if it TLG ever published it! So much detail, and great playability!
  3. You are a master, Sariel! This is fantastic! By the way, I got your book (Unofficial LEGO Technic Builder's Guide) for Christmas and that's been a very informative read. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and posting these awesome videos.
  4. Technic all the way! Although I do enjoy building Creator/City/Lego Movie with my kid.
  5. I try to put a positive spin on it with my son (4 years old) when his creations fall apart. "The best thing about LEGOs is that you can always fix things when the break, and you can modify things to make them better!" That has pretty much become my mantra these days. It's frustrating, but a little frustration is good for kids. Learning to deal with the struggle is how they grow and learn! Besides... I actually kind of like helping him put things back together when they break. The "building" part of LEGOs is my favorite part. :-)
  6. Hi All, I am just getting back into building again after several decades of non-LEGO activities. I played with LEGOs as a kid in the 80's... mostly just loose bricks + baseplate, and a few of the space-themed sets. My son turned 4 and received a lego City police set. When building with him, it re-sparked my love of LEGOs! I have since gone a little wild with getting a bunch of sets to build with him, and some Technic sets to build when the kids are sleeping. :-) I really enjoy the powerfunction technic sets, or sets that I can mod to add powerfunctions to. I am working on building my collection up so I can start creating some MOCs once I get enough pieces. My son and I just finished building Benny's Spaceship (SPACESHIP!!!!) together, and it's wonderful how we can connect with our mutual love of building. I am psyched to look around this site!
  7. testing 123. This is a test to make sure I understand how to post. :-)
