  1. The newest poster for Iron Man has even more armor. Now LEGO must needs to make it all!
  2. And the photo is down, so it's now a picture of Wonder Woman topless (but censored) The pic is on this blog danwyman.blogspot.com/2013/02/iron-man-heartbreaker.html among other places. The suit looks awesome and the LEGO fig barely does it justice.
  3. Don't forget all the new Super Heroes figs!
  4. Then again, maybe they'll go with the modern Venom. Either way, with these exclusives, it doesn't mean we won't get the characters, or a variation of them in future sets, like the Iron Man figure with the painted head.
  5. The photo showed a white guy in the suit, so everyone assumed it was James Badge Dale, but reports now are saying it was just a stuntman, since Don Cheadle doesn't need to wear the suit when the helmet is down: [Latino Review]
  6. Very nice. Absoulutely looks like something Tony Stark would fly. I like how well you matched the color scheme between the suit and the jet.
  7. The biggest omissions from the Marvel sets for me are the SHIELD agents. Coulson, Fury and Maria Hill all have significant enough parts that it'd be nice to see them in Lego form. I'm going to hold out hope for a Millennium Falcon/Malevolence size Helicarrier set.
  8. I have trouble believing Lego would make a special piece just for a exclusive promo, so hopefully some variation of this Lex, or at least the armor, will appear in another set soon.
  9. Nice. Very clearly two suits for Iron Man, and Hawkeye has a double-sided head (and I'm guess most of the other figs do as well, excepting Cap).
  10. I think it's because Fury was one of the characters mentioned in Lego's press release.
  11. I agree! I guessing the Spider-man set will be similar. It might even be a lot like this set. That also might be a good reason for Lego to include Nick Fury in the Spider-Man set, because Fury wasn't in any of the Spider-Man movies, his presence in the Lego set would make it clear the set is based on the comics, just like Magneto in the Wolverine set makes it clear that this not from the Wolverine movie, even though to the average kid, it totally is.
  12. Actually, the suit with the round chest RT shown in the newest trailer looks to be a completely new suit. It looks like it has some sort of jetpack on the back. There are some screen caps here. Iron Man had 3 different armors in each movie. In the first Iron Man film, he had the original Mark I, the silver Mark II prototype (that was stolen and turned into War Machine), the Mark III that was damaged in the final battle. In Iron Man 2, he started with the Mark IV, an upgraded version of the Mark II, then had the Mark V suitcase armor (probably destroyed by Whiplash), and finally the Mark VI with the triangular chest piece. These toy images show he'll make a new suit for the Avengers. I wouldn't be surprised to see Fury in the Spider-Man set. After all, the Ultimate (Sam Jackson) version of Fury appeared frequently in the Ultimate Spider-man comics, and looks like he'll be the new TV show as well.
  13. Also, considering that we just got pics from the LOTR and Star Wars summer sets, this doesn't seem too strange, though I expect us to see the Marvel sets almost any day now.
  14. Well, considering 'The Hobbit' is supposed to be a lot lighter than the 'Lord of the Rings' films, sets based off that seem logical. As for 'Lord of the Rings', I don't buy the argument that the tone is too "dark" for LEGO. Heck, you can argue that they did a set of "The Dark Knight" and they'll probably do some for "The Dark Knight Rises" in the superhero line, and those films are darker than LOTR. In the minifig line, we've seen Lego create things like elves and a variety of weapons that were the biggest obstacle I saw to a LOTR line. I would think that a license tie-in would be a good way for Lego to increase the popularity of a Castle line, which doesn't seem to be doing all that well, at least in my area. That said, I'm not going to get my hopes up for this.
  15. Well, it looks to me like this X-wing redesign corrects a bunch of 6212's problems (and for the record, I didn't really have a problem with that set, though it does look pretty dated compared to more recent models). Just based off this prelim, the engines and cannons seem to be more accurate and the wings close tighter. The nose length seems to be shortened, which was badly needed. Ironically, the detail about 6212 that bugged me was the nose cone, and I can't tell from this image if that has been changed or not. This whole redesign reminds me of the ARC-170, which only changed slightly in terms of outward appearance, but had some more significant changes that weren't visible. And while I'd have loved if it came with Wedge, that probably would be too similar to 6212. I'm glad to see the Jedi Interceptor has been adapted to fit an R2 unit on the wing. It seems a little bulky compared to the previous version, but I'll wait until I see a sharper picture.
  16. Except that Spider-man is a Sony pictures film, while The Avengers is Disney, who LEGO is already working with. Sony would probably have a separate merchandising deal, not that LEGO couldn't get that too.
  17. A system Avenger's line would be pretty awesome, probably next to the Hobbit on my list of dream Lego licences. Assuming Lego gets rights to the earlier films, I think Lego has some possibilities for vehicle-based sets, like the fighter jets and racecars from Iron Man 1 and 2, the Hummer/school battle in The Incredible Hulk, and it looks like Captain America will have some cool vehicles. Also, it sounds like The Avengers will be drawing on the Ultimates storyline, and there's actually plenty of options for system sets. I think the biggest advantage of the Avengers licence is that unlike PotC (Jack Sparrow in every set), PoP (Dastan in every set), and Indiana Jones (Indy in every set), Avengers sets wouldn't have to include the same character over and over, which might help them sell better.
  18. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!
  19. My friends and I will certainly be buying these and using them for D&D regardless of how LEGO's gameplay is designed.
  20. Congratulations to the winners. Great work!
  21. Love the musketeer and hazmat guy. Also the elf hairpiece for the werewolf, which will make Star Trek Voyager MOCers happy...
  22. My first ever contest entry. The Death Star Bar Where else can Imperial forces go to relax after a long day? The bar was added by the special request of Lord Vader, after several bounty hunters complained there was "nothing to do" during visits to the station. It's pool time. Darth Vader and his secret apprentice against Boba Fett and Bossk. Vader hopes the force will be with this shot. Fett uses his rangefinder to plot his next move. On the long breaks between planetary invasions, AT-AT drivers are sometimes forced to find other means of employment. It's a little known fact that Han Solo posed for a series of Carbonite molds when he ran low on cash. The pieces were praised among the intergalactic art community, which is why Jabba the Hutt was so happy to display the "live" mold in his palace. The bar has developed a reputation for not bothering to check the ID of anyone wearing Stormtrooper armor. It's karaoke night! But even removing the helmet probably wouldn't improve the Shadow Trooper's performance. Han was an old hand at the Stormtrooper armor trick. He makes regular visits just after pay day for a friendly game a Sabbacc. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the poker face of the other players. Juno Eclipse thinks, I need to stop dating Stormtroopers. I can never tell if it's the same guy under the helmet. Link to Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/55914031@N02/
  23. I just see the same old rifles that the Adventurers used, and the Tommy Guns on the vehicles, but those aren't modern. This line is looking pretty awesome.
  24. I'm inclined to vote no, and this is from a huge gun fan and the owner of a wide variety of Lego weaponry. While I wouldn't be opposed to the inclusion of the occasional gun, I'd be more worried that every police set would become a cops and robbers shoot-out and one of the things I've always like about Lego City was the fact that there was more to it than that. That said, I would love a SWAT team or bank robbery set.
  25. Hey, I've finally decided to join Eurobricks after reading it semi-religiously for the past several years. I live in the US and I'm just starting my senior year of college in Washington state. That means I'm still transitioning from being a teenager who still plays with LEGO to an official AFOL. I mainly collect Star Wars, Castle and City, though I have sets from pretty much every line, and I like to build and design all sorts of things. I'm a creative writing major, so many of my creations are objects from stories I'm working on. Also, from childhood I've been a huge Jurassic Park fan -- hence the username -- and I attribute my unending love of Lego to the Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set. Also, some of you may have already seen my foray into the world of brickfilms, but if you haven't, here's the link: Anyway, I look forward to being a part of the Eurobricks community.
