  1. For those who don't have LDD or don't want to download the file: Back Side Top Side Alternative Front Side Overall, its a good start to a Bear MOC. However, I do want to point out the gap between the bodies is quite annoying and probably not the best choice of connection. It is decent looking though, especially given the limited parts, and does look very much like a bear (the helmet does help though). I might play with the file later and adjust a few things, if you don't mind wghost.
  2. Are we sure that we're only getting 8 sets this summer? Seems kind of disappointing to me, especially since there's no sign of that purple villain from the TV episode yet.
  3. Picked this up yesterday at Target, spent a few hours this morning building it. Very happy with it, really for its price is more than worth it to get it. I'm definitely going have to get the Queen Anne and the Flagship to go alongside her now. (Click for larger)
  4. I just received my DBM and PAB order today that I placed back at the end of July. I got an e-mail from Lego about it a week after I placed the order. I assume all other DBM / PAB / Recon orders got the e-mail as well.
  5. Regarding the small dinosaur in the HQ set, I think it is another Coelophysis. If you look at the top of the boxes, you can see the minifigure dinosaur size comparisons. The Coelophysis is only as tall as a minifigure, and the small dinosaur in the HQ set is also only as tall as a minifigure. It just happens that the Coelophysis on the Attack set is drastically out of scale.
  6. Personally I'm really looking forward to this theme, in fact its probably the only theme I'll get every set of next year. Dino Island and Dino Attack were great sets, and despite the odd color scheme for Dino, these look even better. Also, thanks to Alyvin, if you click here you can see slightly larger and much more clear pictures of the sets, including the headquarters. Cheers, Zar
  7. Kara stopped outside the doors to Heroica, looking up at the impressive building with a slight doubt on her mind. The last year she had wandered, not doing much of anything outside of traveling, and had finally wound up here at Eubric, home of the renowned Heroica. This was the best shot at doing something good with her life that she had run into in awhile, the chance to join a group of heroes going out specifically to right wrongs, what else could one ask for? Taking a deep breath, Kara pushed open the doors to the entrance, taking a step into the cooler entrance hall from the hot warm air outside. Surprisingly, it was quiet inside, two large stairways ahead, with a board on the ground level and a bar above. For such a well known organization boasting many heroes, it sure was empty. Of course Kara figured this meant everyone was out elsewhere doing something of noble intentions, and that she was late to getting to the party. She'd just have to make up for lost time on her first few quests, that was all. She headed towards the Questboard, but outside of a few lists of recruited heroes for recent quests, there was nothing current to be signed into. Sighing with a shrug of her shoulders, Kara straightened out her ponytail quickly before turning back towards the stairs that surrounded the edges of the lobby. Might as well get a drink, some food and meet any other heroes left behind until something came up that she could join. A short trek up the stairs revealed a mostly empty bar, only two Rangers at the bar, a few others at various tables and Scheherazade once again cleaning the floor. Sitting down at one of the empty tables, Kara quickly removed her cloak and sword from her back, setting them down on the bench next to her. Placing her shield atop of the rest of her items, she smiled with a slight stretch, glad to be rid of the weight once again. "Can I get you anything, darling?" The Orc barmaid asked as she passed by. "Um, just a water." Kara answered, glancing up from staring at her katana. "A large, large glass if you have one." Scheherazade nodded and headed back to the bar, tending to the two Rangers before returning quickly to Kara's table, a large glass in one hand and a pitcher of water in the other. Kara's smile back properly said more thanks than the small "thanks" she muttered as she poured a full glass as the barmaid returned to the bar, downing it quickly before filling another. This second one she spilled more civilized, but obviously she should have brought more water with her on the last leg of her journey. Glancing around the bar and seeing nothing of particular interest, Kara turned back to her glass and stuff. A new cloak would be needed soon, her current one was worn. Some new armor wouldn't hurt either, the ancient chainmail she wore was old and torn; and at one point in her journey she'd had to trade her breastplate for passage on a ship. Still, that could be fixed later with a trip to the market, though she didn't have much gold left to spend… - - - - - Lady Kara Linette, Level 1 Knight 26 Year Old Female Human
  8. Finally got around to look at the new images for 2012, a little late I know, but still ahead of most. Not sure I like the Prison Break story idea, but it has potential, so I'll withhold too much judgement until the story starts. As for the sets, I must say they are looking pretty good. I'm glad with how far Hero Factory has come from its Bionicle origins, and this new system seems to be working well. I am most definitely going to be picking up the original three rookies, as in my opinion they look the best out of the line up. Especially Furno, which isn't something I ever expected to say since he's been one of my least favorite heroes thus far. There's a lot more detail in these new sets, and they look very dynamic and much more action figure-y; plus more pieces is never a bad thing. Interesting to see a return to the launchers in the smaller sets though, I'm kind of getting sick of the Thornrax launcher. The new hand-cuffs piece(s) looks very interesting though, I wonder how well it will work on the older villains (hopefully just as good as on the new ones, I see no reason for it not to). The new packaging style is a definite plus in my book, the canisters were unnecessary for the smaller sets. Villain wise, they look good and are pretty detailed, but I don't think I'll be getting any of them (maybe Thornraxx). I'll definitely wait for reviews on them, but they just don't appeal to me like the previous villains do. They seem to be missing something, I just can't put my finger on it. And Black Phantom is a disappoint. Even my younger brother (7), who wants all the new sets since I showed him the pictures, pointed out the horrible leg design and his general thin-ness with doubt. It bothers me too, Witch Doctor was by far one of my favorite sets in awhile, and a step far forward in titan design, I don't see why Lego is taking steps back even further than Fire Lord. Those legs are super thin and need way more armor, even Fire Lord looked better with his questionable legs. I just don't see how its so hard to design a decent large villain, hopefully this is something the design team can figure out and fix quickly in future waves. :/ All in all, I'm very interested in where this wave could potentially go, though I'm on the fence at the moment. Furno, Breez and Surge are guaranteed buys in my book though, and I love the return to the 1.0 helmets. Here's to hoping the summer sets end up amazing.
  9. Personally, I'm not a fan of many of the older space themes, probably because I didn't grow up with them. I'd most like to see a new space theme that was both a combination of Life on Mars and Mars Mission, as both themes had great potential but fizzled out in my opinion. Having both peaceful and hostile aliens would be nice, the transforming alien robots of Life on Mars were amazing and the human vehicles from the first wave of Mars Mission were equally amazing. Most importantly though, I feel a alien figure as pose-able as a normal minifigure (ie both arms, hands, and legs move, as well as a head that can turn side-to-side) would be essential. Insectoids would also make for a great revival because it was so different from everything else, they actually felt alien bug machines and awesome (plus all the trans yellow green was wonderful). I also voted for M:Tron, as I inherited a few passed down sets from the theme when I was younger, and had endless fun with the magnets and various roleplaying scenarios I could come up with. My fear is that if Lego brought it back, they'd replace the magnets with some other (probably flick-missile based) gimmick, which would be a no-go for me. To me, M:Tron was so awesome solely because of the magnets (and the big cockpit crane thingy I had).

  11. I miss my Bionicle collection. It filled two large bookcases and looked quite awesome in the corner of my room. Bionicle was also my main hobby outside of Zoids for years, and is the only reason I've stuck with Lego for so long. Its a shame I've had to move away to college and leave my collection behind with my siblings (though I took my box of books and comics with me). I'll have to get a picture of it, if its still together, next time I'm home. I had tons of duplicates though. After '01, I didn't buy the new sets as they came out, I waited until the next wave came out and picked up the previous ones on clearance, often getting them essentially buy one get one free. I'd have to say my favorite years were '01, '02, '04, '06 and '08. The others just didn't interest me much story wise, and that was my main buying factor. '06 was by far my most favorite though. 2001 Tohunga: Huki (1), Kongu (2), Matoro (1) Turaga: Matau (1), Nokama (2), Nuju (1), Onewa (1), Vakama (3), Whenua (2) Toa: Gali (3), Kopaka (2), Lewa (3), Onua (2), Pohatu (2), Tahu (3) Rahi: Nui-Jaga (1), Nui-Rama (2), Tarakava (1) Collectable Kanohi Masks: 59/72 Comics: 1-3 (2 of each, 1 #3 signed by GregF) 2002 Bohrok Va: Gahlok Va (1), Kohrak Va (4), Lehvak Va (3), Nuhvok Va (2), Panhrak Va (3), Tahnok Va (2) Bohrok: Gahlok (2), Kohrak (3), Lehvak (4), Nuhvok (2), Pahrak (3), Tahnok (3) Toa Nuva: Gali Nuva (2), Kopaka Nuva (1), Lewa Nuva (3), Onua Nuva (1), Pohatu Nuva (2), Tahu Nuva (3) Titans: Exo-Toa (1), Master Builder Set (1) Collectibles: 20/??? I actually don't own the Black Seas Barracuda either, but my best friend had it back in the day and oh man was the ship the coolest set out there. Easily beat out my Caribbean Clipper.

  14. Here's a slightly different kind of Hero Factory MOC, in a slightly different medium thanks to the new LDD update: (Posed pictures below the static ones) I wasn't really trying to accomplish much with this, just getting used to how LDD works with Hero Factory parts. I started out trying to re-make Spinax using the new pieces, but scraped that idea for a sort of jungle prowling predator type creature. Best part is that it isn't controlled by any under-whelming titian size villain, just a creature that would give the heroes some real trouble if they happened to bump into each other. I also intentionally left out eyes on the creature, as I feel it gives it more of an exotic look. It would mainly rely on hearing and smelling to determine where things are and what's around it. Similar to the Shirshu from Avatar the Last Airbender. The head was the hardest part of the MOC, giving me a little pause on how to create it. I decided to use some system pieces though, and I think it worked out decently well. Too bad this can't be purchased, it makes a decent size enemy (see Furno 1.0 made of 2.0 pieces for comparison). I'd love to hear feedback on it, especially if it will help me out in my further LDD adventures. P.S. I resized the images in Photobucket, but it didn't save some of them, then it appeared it did, then it doesn't. I'm not sure if its my cache fighting the re-sized images or Photobucket being weird, but if they seem too large, let me know and I'll try it again.
  15. Thank you for the warm welcome KielDaMan and The Eye! @ The Eye - I am aware of the Lamborghini license, and have eyed the sets a few times in the stores. I have yet to cave in and buy one yet, but I'm hoping some reviews can help persuade me to purchase at least one.
